my sister had to grow up and be the parent. she was the oldest of four. she did the best she could when we were living under our mothers roof. she has taken all of us in at one point or another after becoming an adult. she was my legal guardian when i was in high school. i am not an easy person to deal with and i put her through some shit as a teenager. but any time i have a parent or mom question she is the first person i call, even to this day. i have no idea where i would be today if it wasn't for her. and she always teases me because i get sappy and tell her how much i love and appreciate her and make her cry.

Claire (Stacy's foster daughter) is my best friend and we have been best friends since middle school and I remember how bad things were back then, we wearnt even allowed to hang out because of that group home. It made me feel so... helpless every day when all I could do was hug her. She called me today to show me this amazing video and it only made me appreciate Stacy even more because this summer we were able to see eachother again for a whole weekend! I'm really over the moon to see how much Stacy has impacted Claire's life in such a short amount of time and how independent she is now. I raised my sister when I was 13 and she was 10, until I was 18 and she was 15. I helped her with homework, acted as her sister (gossip, talking about school), cooked food every night, helped her with her periods, helped her sleep every night due to her insomnia and helped her through all friendship and relationship problems while I juggled school, taking care of my ill mother and a job. Now that she's 21, she's totally cut me off. Today I got married and she arranged a shift on work just to miss it. She never said anything. I live in a flat with my husband right next to the main house. She's cut me off and would never tell me why no matter how often I asked. My point is, not everyone will remember it as a positive experience and will have conflicting feelings (is she my sister or my mom?). Sometimes people will just cut you out after you raised them. It's complex because no sibling should have to raise their younger siblings, but it's so common and it doesn't always end up well. Just don't take what bonds you have with your siblings for granted.

This just reminded me to thank my caretaker, she has always been there for me, not only as a maid but as my actual mom.. I love her more than my real mom because she’s always been there for me and respects me as a person

i cried so much at this because i am trying to raise my sister, because i cant actually trust is our parents. and it's so hard sometimes but just to see her smile after a rough day makes everything better and i just hope i am doing a great job. it would mean the world to me if she said something like this to me someday.

Omgggg! So many tears! I love this! I had so many woman in my life that stepped up and showed me love when I didn’t have it or felt pushed to the side. My mother and I are close now but that is thankfully do to her getting a diagnosis and propped medications to help her. This video was amazing!

I couldn't finish watching this because it went too close to my heart but this really reminded me of the people who took over my parents roles in my life and for the most part it was my older sister. She is only 1,5 years older than me but she is the only person that I truly feel like I can rely on and ask for help. I don't know where I would be without her.

I practically raised my sister since she was born (I was almost 6yo), my parents were there but they didn't really payed attention to us, my sister usually calls me mom, now we're 18 and almost 13, it wasn't easy to do but I managed

Just to put it out there cause I can’t write a letter now, to Jesse thank you for being there for me as a father. I never had a father figure until you showed up when I was young. I honor you to this day and you still teach me things in spirit. I wish i could see you to tell you but I know you can see me and hear me. I love you.

From Adoptee, to adoptee, I wish nothing but the best, understanding, unconditional, loving relationship with her second mom🖤 You deserve nothing but to always know and feel like you are chosen, loved, safe, cared for, and seen.🖤 CUT always finds a way to provide content that I can relate to. Thank you so much to the whole team and the humans in this video for sharing a part of themselves with strangers. & being so vulnerable and honest 😭🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

That "Ah crap he is going to make me cry" - is a true sibling response. As an older brother with much younger sister - I felt that
