This is not a China issue, this is an issue with humanity and unfortunately It's happening all over the world. It's definitely not as bad as it used to be with the improvements of technology, surveillance, social media, etc, but in order to really stop this from happening, demand needs to be cut.

This affects us all Asian even if we don't have direct relatives still living in East and Southeast Asia, it hits home when it happens to someone of your ethnicity. This is very scary. Imagine all the dead bodies the Chinese government will one day dug up because a lot of those traffick girls get beaten to death and buried on countryside farms and ditches for stupid things because they don't do exactly as told due to a lack of understanding mandarin. Something has got to be done and soon or else more girls will meet this demise.

So, this became an industry in China where they kidnapped women from Laos and Vietnam and they are usually sold as wives, but sometimes they are sold as prostitutes. According to these victims themselves, sometimes it's their own friends and families that sold them to China too. Very sad and scary world to live in. North Korean women who escaped from North Korea, but whom are unlucky also face the same fate like these women. They are usually sold as wives, or as prostitutes.

@@sakurakou2009 she went to the dentist and got kidnapped it wasn't like they thought anything bad was gonna happen. many indigenous people in the hills aren't overly prospective of their women because they're farmers. they are used to going to their farms and markets, usually nothing scary happens. the men are probably also doing the same, going to the farmlands, hunting, and going to the markets, life is hard they gotta be self sufficient, men will do their own thing same as women.

I don't think that's the case. If you watch the video, her first husband in China is a 60 years old. This tell me they're just looking for a companion hence the old man offer her chicken dinner. Her fate is better than those who got traffic in a hot truck and died.

Third world countries tend to have much higher psychopathy rates, something that is kind of pushed under the rug due to it easily being seen as a racist view. If you grew up in either North America (USA/CAD) or the down under (AUS/NZ) and a few other places, then you’re lucky to have grown up around normal people for the most part, but it will be a shocker as to how different people are if you go to places like Vietnam, Nigeria, Mexico, etc. It’s almost as if the entire nation has a mental disorder.

@@tiffanym8494 My theories are overpopulation and “Old Word BS.” Overpopulation because that makes people feel less empathy for others as there are so many people, so why does it matter if a few of them dies? So other human lives has less value to them. It’s a general principle of loosing appreciation for something when you have so many of it. By Old World BS, I mean stuff like casteism (seeing someone as less than an animal because of their last name), religious beliefs that makes no sense and creates more divisions, old ethnic tensions (Tutsi vs Hutu in Rwanda is just one of many examples), dumb national pride that makes people think they are the superior group because of the actions of people who happened to have lived in the same place thousands of years ago, holding grudges from events that happened long before they were even born, etc. And all the problems that we still have in western countries like racism, sexism, etc, are amplified like a hundred fold in these places. I’d agree with harsh environments and problematic childhoods too. It’s kind of like a repeating cycle. I’d know, I grew up in that world until the age of 9 when I moved to the US. What’s the best way to break the cycle? If the next generation grows up in the west. Otherwise, there’s really no hope.

I always wanted to visit Vietnam I am viet-American but I've never been there. I don't have family left over there. I was told by someone if I go there I better go with 5 to 10 people and stay in a large group. I was told I'm too light and they can tell I'm a tourist, they will watch how i speak and act. they will try to kidnap me and sell me to prostitution. That's why I never went.

Just try to avoid going into slum area , avoid confrontation with people who you think are bad people , sexual assualt , thieves, gang violence , human trafficking here in Vietmam are rampaging and showing no sign of ceasing , vietnamese won't hesitant to harm their own fellow countryman , they will overcharge you their petty 25000 đồng ( roughly 1$) worth of merchandise up to 100000 ( 4$) đồng . Overall just travel at your own risk ( travel in group , tour if it's your first time traveling) you should try coming back to Việt Nam if you are a Việt kiều , it would be a wonderful and memorable experience ( just disragard of the current corrupted rulling system ofc )

I know asian models and food travelers that go there, they have body guards and travel in large groups. I only know 2 people that might go with me. It's not enough to visit.

You can go to famous tourist places which are safer, some staffs in hotels are very nice and they even warn you about scams, pickpocketing,... I did travel alone here so I would say you don't need to go with a big group to be safe. Vietnamese people are friendly, don't mind asking anyone randomly on the street if you need help.

I didn't find it surprising either. I once got a job in Bangladesh. Chinese people working there were mostly males. I saw one of them bragging about how he bought a 15-year-old Bengali girl from her family with other Chinese men. These people have no shame. I remember there was even one time I saw the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan posted an article to educate Chinese men about how it is not Okay to buy woman from local human trafficker. They are treating women from other countries in the same way how we were treated by the European colonizers. This is what most men would do once he gets economically superior than other people. It’s because of the backwards CCP’s one child policy there wasn’t enough women for every man for many decades. Even though recently they changed it now to 3 children they are still a lot of men without wives for a large percentage of the populace.
