In the states the police are pretty lenient on our speeds they won’t pull anyone over usually if it’s 15 mph over the speed limit because it’s not worth their time and the paper work so everyone goes over the speed limit so that’s probably why. And being in the other side of the road is very confusing I would be on the wrong side so many times.

@@keeganpatterson677 there's actually a law in USA that means if everyone is speeding then that's kind of the new speed limit, that's why they don't do anything but if you're the only one going 15 over then they definitely might pull you over

@@fatbroccoli8 well, you said “a law in the USA”, so i thought you were speaking broadly. i looked up this California thing, i’m assuming you’re talking about the “basic speed law”, all it really says is that weather and traffic conditions should dictate your speed no matter what. doesn’t really say ‘if everyone else is speeding, it’s okay.’

If you’re doing lessons coming up to your test - I failed twice and passed on my third. I watched these videos everyday every spare moment I had before my third test. Helped me so much. Keep calm, small talk with the instructor before setting off for your test so you feel calm with them in the car. The main thing I learned off this channel was that you CAN take a wrong turn and not fail. This helped me pass. He does not start to observe and assess when approaching roundabouts he just looks late and his best roundabouts are when no traffic happens to be coming from the right. At this point he has a lot of speed on making continuing easy but if he needs to stop it will be a hard stop sometimes a forced stop for one vehicle. Similarly his technique does not allow for holding back to let those odd vehicles past and timing his arrival to continue in a selected gap.

In the USA we don't have a lot of roundabouts. A lot of the USA uses intersections. There are a few roundabouts in some cities (such as Carmel, Indiana) but many cities there aren't many. We also drive on the other side of the road which is why we focus on the other side of the lanes.

One of my really skillful and experienced instructors has a license for manual and he says manual cars are fun to drive. Well, I can see why! It still baffles me to this day, how many drivers, especially younger US drivers attempting to drive manual, don't understand how you have to let the clutch do its job, when moving off by having the clutch on the bite point with a bit of gas, and not just slowly raise the clutch up with very little gas. Newer manual cars move off a lot easier with the method US drivers are taught to do, and what Simranjeet is doing, and that is dangerous, think about it: If the clutch was to assist you over 60% of the way in moving off and you've little control over the clutch pedal, imagine for example hitting the car in front because of the car jerking off enough forwards to hit the car. I once test drove a Toyota GR Yaris 2020 at the local Toyota dealership, and being a fully licensed driver for almost 2 years now, I could only say that it was scary. Once the clutch reaches the biting point, it has a tendency to spring off/press against your foot, and therefore it's vital to learn good clutch control, no matter the car in question. All in all, I'm not trying to discredit all US drivers that attempt manual, since this issue also happens with a lot of people elsewhere, even in the UK.
@SimonBauer7

@hungleba3996

Just for study. About that roundabout at 8:05. I watch that one video with Amar from 3 years ago. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GYlw7Bh2eZk.html, I interpreted that you can use outer lanes to take the second roundabout exit. At 8:05, I know he was too way out in the outermost lane to make that second exit, but what if he was in the middle lane, can he still make that second exit? is it acceptable? We don't have many roundabouts in my country, so my experience with them are so lacking. Seeing UK's road infrastructure thru your videos seem to be so confusing for me. too many roundabouts @_@

it would mess with me so hard (i am german) to shift with the left hand. also to drive on the left just feels wrong. i can drive manual but just in germany with right hand driving. i am still of the opinion that multi lane roundabouts are stupid and dangerous.
@m4ini
@m4ini 2 года назад
Once you stop being a narrowminded Backpfeifengesicht, you'll understand that just because you're USED TO something, doesn't mean that alternatives don't work. I am german, i moved to the UK 8 years ago with a german license, did my UK license. I told my driving instructor here that i'm german and he needs to pay attention in the first few lessons so i don't accidentally drive into the wrong lane at crossroads etc out of habit (never happened) - that's it. One minor, got my license, sorted. In regards to the gear stick? So far haven't missed a gear and it's in fact more comfortable to drive since i drive one handed (other hand on stick, even in automatics), and steering with my dominant hand (right hand) is much more precise/comfortable. It takes two driving lessons at most to get used to the driving position, and maybe another two to get used to the lane. If "using your left to shift gears" already takes the piss out of you, then you're not as good a driver as you might think you are. The ONLY problem that i encounter regularly are other drivers. Multilane roundabouts work well enough, if people adhere to the rules and more importantly, indicate. The problem here isn't that the roundabouts don't work, it's the fact that people don't use the correct lanes for what they want to do - and don't indicate even though its easy as pie. Driving here isn't harder or easier (or safer/worse) than in germany. It's slightly different, but easy to get the hang of if you're a decent/confident driver. The biggest issue, much like in germany, are other douchebags either tailgating even at or slightly above the speed limit, or not indicating/thinking they own the road. Does that sound familiar, as a german?

This guy has too much of a wreckless demeanour. Calm and humble but dangerous, the UK has smaller roads he needs to learn to adapt to a more controlled style of driving or one day he could end up killing someone. Which would be a pity as he seems like such a nice dude. I get his energy, but he needs to stop driving like he's on the track.
