Dutch, a word. When exploring unexplored areas that are known to have limestone caves and sink holes. Carry a long pole capable of supporting your weight perpendicular in case you step into a hole covered by leaves. We used to have the point man do this when we were patrolling in the mountains. I still do this when exploring.
@blondek767
@blondek767 9 месяцев назад
When hiking my property, I carry a walking stick. Poke before you touch. Never know when there’s a snake! If I’m walking into a rocky area or see a hole, I grab a handful of dirt and throw it in the direction I’m walking, it scares away critters. I would have definitely thrown a handful of dirt in that hole before exploring!

As someone who's done caving long ago, if it's got enough cold air that you can feel it from where you were standing then it absolutely goes. Hey, Dutch them tracks could be yours cause if you had some frost that morning by time you got there, the moisture would of dry up some would make it look fresh. As for cave, I think I would put a camera up first & check to see if anything is going into it. Now, for the shed, yes, I would make it a cooler to hang deer or hogs in it. I think I would be looking into a crap load of No Trespassing signs all outside edge of the property. I know it's a lot. Maybe a sign company will sponsor you. If not, I think you are going to have trouble with this matter. I had to do my sister's property & that was only 20 acers it's a pain but that stopped her one neighbor that was coming in causing are deer hunting troubles. I’m wondering how you’re gonna make that into a freezer room? Where is the Electric going to come from? What I remember is that you were popping fuses or tripping breakers trying to run the food dehydrator.
@mwatkins2464
@mwatkins2464 9 месяцев назад
You can insulate any small outbuilding and put a small ac window unit in it to turn it into a cooler not a freezer. The thermostat will have to be changed out to one that goes down to at least 35 degrees. Then you have a cooler for hanging deer or anything else you want but it won’t freeze just refrigerate
@kar702
@kar702 9 месяцев назад
@@mwatkins2464 yes, I know you can but my point is the Electric Has to come from somewhere and I think he’s gonna need a bigger service because he’s popping breakers just running that food dehydrator he certainly would have trouble trying to run air conditioners off that service

I am baffled!! We post our land with Purple paint on the tree at the property line. No signs needed. Our game wardens do a great job of helping property owners with trespassers and even helping hunters on leased /permission land. we can email our trail cam pics to our DNR office and they take it from there and usually have about an 85% prosecution rate. I feel for you hunters /property owners in other states.

Being a hunter myself for decades I’d probably say the reason the deer aren’t touching that one corn pile is because of that Buck decoy being so close to it. That would be my Guess, I’d like to add a good place for the decoy in my opinion is your grassy areas you planted with the feeder in a distance from it. Also if you had a life size Doe Decoy to put with him like a Buck is Tending a Hot Doe in Heat and spray him between the legs with Dominate Buck and spray her rear area with Doe in Heat.... Then have a blind set up where you can see them well you can draw out that Big Dominate Buck in your area to get a shot on him coming to them. Just a idea 😉👍 PS: The ones who make Ever Calm sell the real deal Rutting Buck Urine and Real Doe in Estrus Urine. I’ve had awesome success using their products.

About your caves a really cool idea would be to reach out to the cave explorer groups that Matt On Demo just had at his abandoned resort. He introduced all them and their channels on one of his abandoned Resort videos recently. He also said anyone having & needing any caves explored to get in touch with these channels. A Great idea would be you do channel collaboration with those cave exploration guys. Could be very good for your channel and subscriber count as well as views by having all those cave exploring guys do videos with you. I know you and they will have to make it abundantly known that’s private posted property for your hunting club and family only use & that it’s off limits & will be trespassing for anyone trying to find it or explore it.... That the expedition of those videos was strictly only for entertainment and educational purposes and anyone caught trespassing would be prosecuted. But that may be awesome content not only for your channel but to get maybe viral videos, good for subscriber count and algorithms for you channel. U maybe could get these cave explorer channels to come right after deer season ends when snakes are still in hibernation & it won’t mess up your hunting. I think they went and camped at Matt’s resort during the cave exploration & videos they done. Hey just a thought you may wanna consider or not ? Just thought I’d mention it 👍🏼

Dude, you have some big cajonies traipsing around out there by yourself. But, the "here kitty, kitty" made me giggle.

Put a camera facing the entrance. Strap a light and camera video on a remote truck and drive it in the cave. There's probably another entrance to it if you feel a draft.

Yes, bring one of your friends into help check out the new cave and put a camera up to see if there is something going in or out of the cave, but PLEASE be safe. Very nice shed. LOVE FROM IOWA! 😊❤❤❤

The sink-hole cave that is identified at 12:53, looks as if it is a stump hole and here's why. There may have been a tree that blew over and there was a large root ball attached. If you look at the side of the hole as you approach, it looks as if there is a mound of dirt. This could have been where the tree roots decayed and the dirt settled. Hardwoods have shallow, wide root balls compared to softwoods. Fun video. Keep up the great work!

Put a good cage out there with some bait and also a camera that doesn't have a backwards memory card in it would be amazing. Then you can see if there is or isn't anything living in there or maybe get a gopro to look into the cave.

City girl here but have observation skills. The soil in the tracks seemed dark and no leaves had blown over the ruts so probably quite recent. I don't like even walking into a dark room in my house. Getting the spine crawling chills thinking of cave exploration.

I'm a cave expert and that looks like a neat for a cougar or something like that so I would set bait and cam up the cam by the cave and bait out 15 yards away from the camera but make sure the cam faces the cave and I suggest that you do not go in there without letting others know where it is and if you go in it please be safe cause they do look like bones in there

I usually enjoy watching your videos. This one was suspenseful. I agree with the comments here, put a trail camera by the cave. Definitely have someone with you to explore it. God bless

I think a camera at the entrance to the cave is a good idea. That way you can maybe see what's going in and out.

My first thought was snakes. However your light shows that the dirt has been recently disturbed going down into the cave.

Thanks for the video, it's interesting looking forward to seeing more later. I would recommend you also wear a pistol, it's better to have one and not need it, than need one and not have it. People are not horrible about land ownership anymore.

That shed is totally awesome. I could use one of those to put a lot of stuff in. They look very sturdy.
