Always have enjoyed these kids. They are the student council, Voice Play are the thespians and Home Free are holding a kegger in the parking lot. All are great and getting greater.
24.- Tan's expression at all that moment seemed to be saying: "yes, I know you're my friend and I'm not going to hurt you, but we're going to wait here together until someone from home comes out and tells me that everything is fine." This boy told us (after calming down, drying off in the warmth of the wood stove, and my father offering to give him a ride home) that he had never really felt the sensation of being threatened, but having a dog the size of a calf propping him up against a wall, staring at him (yes, with tender eyes of deep understanding) from above (because Tan's head was so much higher than the boy's head), in the middle of a storm, it made him think that no one would come out, and that this would never end. And while he chatted with us, Tan was next to him, sitting, attentive to the conversation, with his expression of maximum understanding (“yes, mate, it rains a lot and you were very wet, of course… I'm so sorry, you got scared But, comrade, don't enter here without permission, because you won't be able to get out!”). When my father took the boy away, and my mother and grandmother had finished making their reproaches, my grandfather took Tan back to his shed (they were always dry and warm and comfortable in the middle of the straw), and they went outside. from the kitchen together, at their leisurely pace despite the rain; I saw my grandfather scratching Tan's ears, and Tan looking at him (“all right, boss?”). And my grandfather smiled as he caressed him: "good, my big boy, good...". And so, perhaps, another lesson: you will meet the same people every day, in the usual situations, and it will seem that everything is fine. But what would these people do when a normal situation turns into a stormy night? It is better to calmly observe and wait until you know that everything is as usual. There was no such thing as blind trust for Tan. Tan felt that it was better to be safe than sorry after a mistake in trust. So he didn't even bark.
@@patwood7011 my grandfather and all the animals that lived with him shared their souls. The way they looked at him, straight into those blue eyes, with absolute nobility, was magical. It was not necessary for him to say anything, they understood each other. Even their wild souls, those that never gave up their most intense freedom, read my grandfather's gaze. Neither he tried to subdue them nor did they feel obligated. They just communicated.
@Ana CeCe yes Ana💛, another great lesson, I also see things like that 😉 (I love the fact that Tan is in "the conversation" that concerned him, next to the soldier 🥰)
I appreciated your thoughts at the end. Yes, we don’t even know ourselves until we are tested on a “dark and stormy night”. We may be surprised by our ability and bravery, but we also may find places of weakness that we didn’t know until we were tested. When tested by fire how do we come out on the other side? You may not have meant all that by your words, but that is how it appealed to me anyway. By observing ourselves in the hardest times we can begin to trust ourselves. The beginning of trust in others starts just outside our comfort zone.
I love how they performed this song! Kevin's beat boxing was so catchy right from the start, and their voices...**sigh**...as usual. And it was SO great to hear your fun and funny review! I've missed your verbalaciousness. 😉❤ Thanks, Barry!
😂I just love how you love them!❤ You get so very exited! Nice way of shaking your shoulders....good dancer Barry! But this is Pentatonix...this is the best addiction ever! I am proud to be a Pentaholic ♥️
Hello Mr Barry. It's Matthew. Me and my daughter saw this video this morning. Love this song. And love ur reactions still. P.S. the birthday card is now framed on our wall. Thank u again so much.
No, there isn't! They were amazing when they started out and have continued to grow and become more amazing over time though I freely admit I don't see how that's possible when they were PERFECT to begin with!!!!! ❤
hey barry, i love pentatonix and i love hearing your reviews. they all look so happy in the cheerleader video and the vocals are, again, amazing. i also love your face when you hear something you really like. thank you barry, for continuing to share with us
We are still watching and still loving your reactions Barry 😍 just been quiet on comments lately. My toddler asked Alexa for you the other day. That is love!!
Thank you SO much for this review! I haven't watched the PTX vid of Cheerleader in a long while. The video, two strong coffee's, and your review, really energized my morning!
This production was done in the gym of the high school I attended (Isaac Litton in Nashville, TN (USA). The high school is now defunct, but the gym remains and is in fabulous condition thanks to the school alumni. Thus, for me, this performance has a bit of nostalgia that can be enjoyed even more due to the fabulous sound of Pentatonix singing there. Always love your reactions. A special thanks for this one.
Hiiiii B ☘️ and all! Thank you very much for the video….T’s Infamous Interactive comment….let’s do this! T: Play….. I haven’t seen this one in a hot minute? Look at B ☘️ he got it right again (just sang a snippet of cheerleader, gosh you seem to know a lot of music? 😉) Barry worrying about editing, just leave it all in! Rules established….. B ☘️ Play on Reaction…. Great beginning with the hoods and the bleachers! Love these lyrics….everybody needs a cheerleader, yeah? Was T a cheerleader? In 5th grade and that was the end of my career. 😂 We were blue and white and our parents made our uniforms. Someone thought it was a good idea to have a blue top WITH TINY WHITE FLOWERS (sorry, shouty) and a solid blue skirt? Well, yes, of course I argued about this, even 5th grade Terri knew this was a dumb idea, have you ever seen a cheerleading outfit that had flowers? In case you need a hint, the answer is a solid NO. 😂 Which brings us to problem number 2, my grandmother could sew very well, she made Annie’s wedding dress and made ALL of my clothes as a little girl. I was quite the fashion model if I do say so myself, my Granny was just that good! Annie can also sew but she doesn’t use a pattern, thinks she can just eyeball everything, it is always too big, and it never works. I mean ever. As you can imagine from previous comments Annie and T fought over this uniform? I looked like I was wearing a potato sack with flowers on top. 5th grade Terri thought this thing should be tight, Annie had other ideas like of the potato sack variety. I kept asking if Granny could make it and Annie would just get mad at that saying she could handle it. We finally find a happy medium, the thing was not tight but not a potato sack either. It still had dad gum flowers on it. And everywhere we went did we get, cute uniforms? NO, we got, oh that’s different, flowers. I wanted to quit that gig but Gary and Annie had this rule that once you started something you had a responsibility to stay in it to the very bitter end. They weren’t the ones harmed for life over a cheerleading outfit that didn’t fit that also had flowers? I digress, back to the video. 😂 Anyway, yes, indeed everybody needs a cheerleader! This reminds me so much of when they were on the “Sing Off”. Love Kevin and his pops. Dance on that gym floor PTX! I have danced on a few gym floors! I have also face planted many times on gym floors, Terri did play basketball from 5th grade on, many stories there. But we had a coach in high school that if there was a ball loose in the floor you better be going for it so Terri quickly learned to dive and hit a hard surface with full body contact, usually colliding in some way with another human trying to do the same. I also learned a bit of acting, you know, throw some elbows and knees during this diving maneuver to make contact with the other human. Sounds rather dangerous, no? Oh wait, I am a complete Angel 😇!! (Why do I keep forgetting that? 😈) Another not so useful life skill? Yes, Kirsten is pretty. 😂 Very happy! Earthing fell out again and somehow started over! Back! Love the end and Mitch with those Ba Da Baa. Baauu….oh you tell me Barry? Grrr…. Barry: Play for the review…. It is happy and uplifting, do it any other way and I might be sad? Yes, PTX we need you and yes PTX we think you are pretty! Barry dancing silently…. Get it Scott! And Kevin, with his noises! And Kirsten cutting through them all! Dancing back to the bleachers! Hoods back up (cause Barry is worried it might be raining. 😂) End of Video…. Don’t wear it indoors or you won’t feel the benefit when you go outside. (Barry and all of Ireland says this.) Makes sense, makes sense. You know, you know, you know….well I didn’t know but do now and appreciate the information! Thanks Barry for the video…. T ❤️
It was great hearing Avi's voice for sure, but don't hate on me people. I am so in love with Matt's voice. Another great reaction/review as usual Mr. Barry.
I love Matt as well; I think he does an excellent job! There's just something about Avi though... I can't explain it. Even if the situation was reversed (Matt leaving, Avi joining) ; I would feel the same. Nothing at all against Matt; Avi wears his feelings on his sleeve, and it comes out in his voice.
OK, BBs, Barry Babes, Barry Boys, Barry Beings… Raise those pompoms. Who is Barry? Now tell me, who is Barry? Louder, I can’t hear you.(Yeah, whoever warned you was right) B is for Beauteous A is for Acclaimed B is for Bashful… Not really. B is for Beast Y is for “Yoooooo Baby! Beauteous acclaimed bashful beast. “Yooooo Baby!” “Yooooo Baby!” “Yooooo Baby!”
helloooo my lovely Lana 👋 THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️ for the 🎉SuperThanks🎉 and thanks for the giggle with the very fun cheerleader comment 😂 every word of that cheer was 100% correct! 👏 too, TOO good Thanks again Lana ❤️
I listened to the original which made me appreciate even more how PTX recreated the Jamician feeling. Barry, you didn’t have to add the little message “This will be a double reaction” - we all knew it would be before you even started listening! 😁. I love you so much. Please post more often. I check everyday.
What an amazing cover they did! I love how much you adore them! PTX is one of a kind. I like some other really talented acapella groups, but PTX is miles ahead in my view. Have a great evening, Easter
Hi julie 👋 THANK YOU VERY MUCH ❤️ for your lovely 🎉SuperThanks🎉 Your donation really helps encourage me to continue making reactions. I appreciate you so much. Thanks again ❤️
@@juliewaterfield1804 Hi Julie, your donation was an inspiration for me to do the same, great idea. Didn't know it was possible to do so, now I know and of course I realized - but too late - that Barry pinned his hint. Didn't read properly, sorry. Kind regards from Germany 😘
@@violetf.2025 hi violet, i'm really pleased you saw it and decided to do the same. barry is definitely the best reviewer on here it would be terrible to lose him. take care, best regards from the uk
This was my introduction to PTX as my daughter was singing the song and youtube kept bringing this version up. Been a pentaholic ever since!!! love it (also fell in love with Mitch at the same time - that voice!!)
Barry the hoodies are what I call Varsity Jackets wore by teams and cheerleaders. Yes, Kirstie is pretty. I there was a cheerleader in high school I felt she was too perfect to approach. However, I found my ballet dancing, long legged, model and she has been my cheerleader for 52 years. I have not found a PTX performance where they did not improve or respect the original. Thank you to you Barry!
I didn't see anyone mention it but for those familiar with American High Schools the hoodies are traditional sports leather "Letterman" jackets with an atypical hoodie attached. This, along with the wooden basketball court, pull out wooden bleachers, and the typical Gym door closing sound at the beginning firmly set the scene of a U.S. high school for anyone who has attended one (ages 13-14 through 17-18) where one would expect to find the typical cheerleader. Yes, colleges and professional sports teams also have cheerleaders but that is not what one thinks of when hearing a song like this.
Was not at all familiar with the original of this song. PTX version was my introduction to this upbeat, fun arrangement. Their Midas touch to this song made it another favorite! Not only did we get ‘bouncy’ Mitch (love me some bouncy Mitch!), we got ‘bouncy’ Scott, Kirstie, Avi and Kevin too! Thanks for another great reaction Barry! More please!
Yay! 🌟 I've missed you and your reactions, Barry! ☘️ I have a soft spot for you because you were one of the very first reactors to PTX I coincidentally watched here and not only did your love for PTX make me a huge Pentaholic, but I also appreciate your character, humor, talent, playing with words and genuine reactions ❤️. You are special 🦄, pls continue reacting to PTX if possible, thanks ✳️
Hi Violet 👋, THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️ for the lovely 🎉SuperThanks🎉 I always enjoy reading your sweet and friendly comments. I’ll never stop reacting to PTX, because like you, I’ve become a huge Pentaholic! Thanks again ❤️
I’m right there with you, Barry. They always sound so full and luscious, I never miss actual musical instruments. Thanks for keeping up with PTX reactions, always so fun. Peace from Ohio …
Hello Barry, you are missing out! There was a TV "Sing Off"show for Acapella groups. You've reacted to Pentatonix and Home Free who were winners on that show but you've missed VoicePlay who are very theatrical. Please check out Voiceplay's cover of "The Dragon Born Comes" from the Skyrim video game. Their bass is Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci and he will amaze you.
I cannot help but smile with your reactions - Thank you so much Sir !! Have you yet reacted to PTX's cover of "My favorite things"? Forgive me if you have already - I've been absent lately.
Hi Barry, it is so fun watching you react to any song from Pentatonix! This song makes me dance, along with their original "Sing." I can't wait for your reactions to "Sing!" See ya
I just love your reviews 🔥 Always make me giggle with your little nicknames for them all. Michieroo. I hadn’t heard cheerleader one a while and I forgot how magical it was 💖 thanks Barry
Hello Barry. Thanks for this. Loved your reaction and review as always. This is one of my favourite PTX covers. Mitch at the beginning with that ear candy, then his smooth golden tone and then the higher register and little inflection, it is just superb. Kevin on the percussion and all those sounds, is amazing every time. Scott so raspy. Kirstie with her sweet tones. Avi so warm and deep. They are always just so good!! The only thing better than watching PTX sing, is watching them sing AND dance. Love it. You can watch any PTX video doubly doubly - I don' t mind.
I say this as an absolute Matt Sallee STAN, but I think this holds up as my favorite ptx cover AND music video. You're absolutely right it is pure joy, and I find myself smiling like a loon all the way through.
Shear joyous dancing, expressions. An extraordinary performance. The way they do this song makes you want to move and groove. Great review Barry, and you got into it, didn't you?😄
Een BLIJ & SWINGEND 💃🏼🕺🏽NUMMER GEZONGEN door PTX En jóuw EIGEN INBRENG bij het ‘VERTELLEN’ over dit lied 😃 Geeft een EXTRA DIMENSIE bij het 👀 Kijken & Luisteren 🎧 BARRY❣️ 👍🏼 👊🏼 👋🏼
7:10 The Bridge (after the second Chorus) is actually a tiered Counterpoint section. (4 bars each) Meat & Potatoes, then Scott, then Mitch, and finally Kirstie. When I listened to the original, I realize that OMI hinted at this Counterpointal idea, but Pentatonix was able to DO it!
Hi Barry I’ve watched your videos for a while you always make me laugh I’m actually going to see pentatonix at the Hammersmith Apollo in London next year (2023) I can’t wait have you ever seen them live x
Barry, love your reviews!! You're fun, to the point and quite entertaining!! Love ya bunches!! Great review of another one of my favorite PTX songs!! 💖💖💖
Love your reaction to this song.PTX is my favorite acapella group, their voices blend so well they are amazing! Barry you make me smile. Like hearing your opinions and your accent! Keep smiling!!😊😻💖
I love your reactions ❤️ never stop!! You love music and your enthusiasm is infectious! I also love when you join us on Monday night lives with Temple Music Academy. You always always make us smile 😊
Barry you need too react to there AHA Video and the live Singapore concert. Although on that the sounds not the best in places. It’ll blow your headphones off. 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Love the energy each member of PTX put into this video. Their dance moves across the gym floor were so smooth it was like they were gliding on air. Of course the vocals were perfect, as always! 🙂
@@ItsmeBarry Hi B ☘️, Nice to hear from you! 🙂 Sorry for the delay in answering. I didn't hear the chime on my phone that tells me I have a RU-vid message. That's been happening a lot lately. I'm doing okay. My friend and I took a bunch of cat food to the county's animal shelter a while ago. On the way home, we stopped at McDonald's for a Shamrock shake. We both ordered a small shake (less calories 😐), and the total was just under $10.00! I could not believe the price had gone up so much. A small Shamrock shake for $5.00 should have some gold or maybe a leprechaun in the bottom of the cup! ☘️🤪☘️
@@i.luv.2.teach.78 the price of everything has gone crazy. I like mint ice cream it’s actually one of my favourites. We never had the shamrock shake here until a few years ago. The first one I tried was like the strawberry and chocolate milkshakes that I used to have as a kid In McDonald’s Donald’s So think your cheeks (on your face) would suck in trying to get the thick shake up the wide plastic straw. But in recent years they’ve changed their recipe and I don’t like any shake from MD’s it just tastes like shaving foam. And mint shaving foam? No thank you, I’ll make some good ice cream at home. You are so right the pot of gold needs to come with these overpriced products 😂 That’s a nice thing to do with the cats, I won’t tell mine because they may become jealous 😉
They look like babies. I love their covers but their originals are great also. I miss your PTX reactions. I hope will react to " The prayer". Mitch sings so high and clear, just like you. Have a great day my friend
@@i.luv.2.teach.78 🤣 I’ll add that to my collection to use on some rule breaker. Oh wait a second …🚨 OLD???? Not allowed and certainly not true. A stuffed cat 🥺 as in taxidermy? Or a cuddly toy?
@@ItsmeBarry You have no idea of my real age. Old is accurate. My stuffed black cat is a cuddly toy. I found him at the first Halloween after Mr. Kitty died. I know this isn't true, but it felt like he sent the toy for me to find and purchase. There have been many tears she'd on that poor toy.
@@i.luv.2.teach.78 who knows for sure what’s possible after death. If not Mr Kitty maybe God guided you to find the toy to acknowledge your love for your feline friend. I’m very open to all possibilities, God is everything and everywhere. I said this line to Terri before when she described herself as “old" and I’ll use it again now because it’s true… unless that’s your Holy Communion photo you are far from old.
This is definitely one of their best. Go look at the number of views. The thing they do with each of the three singing a different part is crazy impressive. Then a few years after this, they did a cover of Kiaara's "Gold" when they do something similar, but even harder.
Hi Linda 👋, THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️ for the 🎉SuperThanks🎉 I plan to record some new reactions in the coming days and they should be posted soon. It’s lovely to hear that you check every day. Thanks again ❤️
Lovely reaction! I think you'd really enjoy Voiceplay's cover of this same song. Also from a few years back, when Tony was still with them and Geoff's hair was short. They worked with Kristen, the same choreographer who helped them on The Sing-Off. It's a fun video.
