You mentioned it looks like they're in church or something. The song is about guitarist Keaton Goldwire's loss of his grandmother. He says, "‘Without A Whisper‘ is about my grandmother dying, and me having to confront death for the first time. As someone who’s not religious, it was the first time I had to really ask myself what happens in the after life. The song is me hoping, even though I don’t believe, that she’s in a place like heaven. ‘I know I’ve been there before with you’ is my way of saying I know we’ve been together in happiness, in a state I imagine as heaven before.”

I've never been big on Invent Animate but this song got stuck in my head so I had to check the album out. I've been listening to it since it dropped and loving it. It took about 3 playthroughs in the car to really get it though.

Followed them since their EP in 2012, everything slaps true musicians.

Love the contrast between the light and high vocals and really low guitar on this song. Harsh vocals are well placed. All in all, it's weirdly soothing ^^

I couldn't get into this band before, but that new album is really damn good.

love everything about that song everything and it'll probably finish in my top-5 on Spotify wrapped. I remember when Darko US released Come Home exactly year ago and I never listened to it until album's release(end of september) and... it just saved me while I was going through tough times and crazy thing is that Come Home was my #1 song of the year by numbers of playing it IN A FUCKING MONTH, and this song gave me exact same feels, probably my Come Home part 2

Really glad you did this reaction! Invent Animate has risen to my top bands of all time along with Sleep Token and "Heavener" is on repeat daily. As sad it is to see others don't enjoy it as much as yourself (as you explained in the beginning) we all have different tastes. Something for me just clicked with this band. Right now "Immolation of Night" is stuck in my head and it's a banger, breakdown city. Also, the reason why you might have felt emotional during this is because it is. I believe it's about the singer (Marcus) losing a grandparent with whom he obviously had a strong connection with. I'm sort of curious, what song didn't you like? One of the new singles? "Elysium" is really good. It's just so atmospheric and ambient and the chorus is *chefs kiss Edit: I stand corrected. Without a Whisper is about Keaton's grandmother and Elysium is about Marcus' grandfather.

Invent animatE are INCREDIBLE. If you don't know about Imminence then I HIGHLY suggest you jump into them. I think you would love them. They don't have a bad song, their albums are MASTERPIECES. Eddie is the singer and he has the best voice imo. He also plays the violin in the songs as well as sings. You kept mentioning uniqueness. Imminence is Very unique and they are getting very big and they deserve it very much!

this band grows on you...I tried listening through the songs in their album Heavener, my top picks are this, Without a Whisper, False Meridian, and Reverie (this one's way mellower but I fell in love with it on my first listen) 😊
