Lets gooo I knew it... People always say there are too many episodes and they won't watch it, but when they do they love it. Just so you know the pacing is sometimes really bad, but that's mostly because of Toei (the animation studio). And most of the time in the middle of an arc or just before the end of an arc really begins. And if you skip the filler. It's Fine But don't skip the G8 filler. That's the best filler you will ever see. (You saw it in one of the 100th ep) Good luck and have fun Don't just rush the show because you want to catch up. 👍
Bud watched 400 episodes until he got Luffy was a rubber man, than got so annoyed by "the opening over explaining" while by episode 800 he still didn't know the Deer and Sanji are recurring characters that were literally spelt out for him in each opening.
@@josephstalin1022 Yes... I know who Rob Lucchi is. Water 7 and Ennie's Lobby are my peak for One Piece, egghead has to have a "I wanna live" moment to top that. For this audience member.
@@lightning4743 well first it was 12, and second its 1.08%, which is just slightly higher than 1%. That's kind of what happens when you watch 1/100 of something (You know, like every 100th episode). Also sorry about the passive aggressiveness, I tried to lower it and got to this.
I never said that!🤣 Actually, I absolutely loved when I figured out this anime had 500+ episodes (When I started). School break at the time, 2 months in home doing nothing... I literally said: "More to enjoy and have fun!" 12 years being a super fan now...🤍
So is that something the english dub shoves in your face every episode or was it just something they did every 100? I could see it either way since the localizers think kids are stupid and need constant reminders to get into a show
though please consider switching to watching the SUB for the whole show, The voice cast is simply better and the dub changes WAY too much unfortunately
@@rae4977I think it's mixed. Lines like "I want to live" and "Where's my brother" go *hard* in the dub but also Jinbe's entire dub voice makes me want to bang my head against a wall his delivery is so flat and boring. I really like Brook's English voice though
he's managed to skip 15 whole arcs total (if you count enies lobby and water 7 at two separate arcs) 2 of which have wild ass scenarios and you mentioned one of them 😭
@@brettbutler4013 luffy is based on the Hindu monkey god “Hanuman”. Bajrang gun the KO attack on kaido is direct reference to Hanuman (Bajrangbali). As a kid he ate the sun because he thought it was a mango in the sky. Maybe luffy eats the mother flame?
It was not hard really, he already knew gear 5 was the most recent and had white hair, so it boiled down to either gear 3 or 4. He probably guessed that given the distance from when gear 2 was introduced it was more probable to be gear 4
Never skip skypiea. The most adventurous arc. They want to go to sky island, everyone thinks it's ridiculous, *They go to sky island.* Plus it's one of the only arcs where they try to find treasure like actual pirates.
"Im not watching 1104 episodes okay thats just not gonna happen" me: scrolls down to the comments and sees the top comment is him saying he will, infact, be watching 1100+ episodes
"After 500 episodes the writer started running out of ideas". Brother, this writer came up with every idea under the sun and put it in this manga and every single one of those ideas ended up becoming PEAK.
@aniotakuYT cool. Try toughening up a bit, cuz if what i said angered you this much i dont even wanna know what would happen in the future if being a man will be of importance. Bye
He didn't, though. He said at multiple points of the story that he had to reign himself in to not get too diatracted from the main plot direction 🤭 So technically this isn't even ALL his ideas. Dude is crazy.
@@sleepysera Bro wanted to write all of One Piece in 5 years and look were we are now. If that isn't getting distracted then I don't want to see him cook fr because I won't live enough time to eat that shit.
♪♫ Yo, here's how the story goes. There's a treasure in the Grand Line, there's no doubt. The pirate whose eyes are on it, he'll sing, "I'll be King of the Pirates! I'm gonna be King! ... His name is Luffy. That's Monkey D. Luffy. He'll be King of the Pirates! He's made of rubber! How did that happen? Yo ho ho, he took a bite of Gum Gum. ♫♪
I never even realized there was an arc change within every 100 episodes. While watching, it seemed like the arcs went on forever. With that being said, 1000+ episodes don't seem like enough once you are caught up
One Piece Fans 1997: So he is literally made of rubber? One Piece Fans 2024: So is he literally made of rubber? My dude. If you ain't on the One Piece train, nakama its not too late! We all started reading at chapter 1. Soon enough you will catch up and beg for more chapters with the rest of us. *And we will all watch the end together!*
It's not Oda running out of ideas, in fact he still have many ideas we don't know about. It's Toei Animation that adapts the manga in a way that makes the episodes last fucking long and unsmooth to watch.
I was laughing so much when it kept mentioning in the intro that Luffy became rubber after eating the Gum-Gum fruit, when in the japanese version it never says that xD
To be fair, Luffy does not announce that he’s going to be King of The Pirates in every episode, they just decided to introduce him in every episode for the dub
I’m so disappointed that after hearing “He’s a boy who ate the Gum-Gum Fruit and became a rubber man” so many times there wasn’t a reaction in 1110 to Vegapunk saying that there is no such thing as the Gum Gum fruit lol
little FYI: if you notice luffy being a bit playful and childlike on gear 5, thats cause the power up is literally a toon effect on himself and everything he touches.
As someone who just caught up to One Piece in 5 months as a full time student, which is about 400 hours of my free time over the last school year (send help), this is a hilarious alternative. Your reactions were pretty hilarious, and you actually deduced a lot of details pretty well like Ace being Luffy's brother, or the body swap thing. Although the funniest thing about doing this is that they explain the power system (devil fruits) in like the second or third episode, so you went through the whole thing way more confused on an otherwise simple detail lol. Oh, and based for watching dub.
@@Pedrinhorachaplays799 Dang that’s a lot. …now that I think about it, Peanuts ran for 50 years *daily* .And there’s even another manga that *was* running longer than One Piece, Detective Conan, but the mangaka started taking more and more breaks, so One Piece caught up.
@@Monobrobe it's crazy to think that Doctor Who almost never happened, because one of the first rules are "try to not put aliens" but someone (a.k.a Terry Nation) did it with The Daleks Arc, and was a HUUUUGE sucess, so it's bizarre to think that if The Daleks were never created, Doctor Who propably was going to be abandoned on the first arc, and if you watched Doctor Who, this is so ironically funny thinking about what daleks are in show's lore lol
Ep1 - Luffys intro Ep100 - trying to make it rain in the desert Ep200 - Fell from the sky Ep300 - Fighting the government’s zoo Ep400 - The cook got a makeover Ep500 - Luffy goes back in time Ep600 - Cosplay genderbends and baby junkies That’s why I love this show
Fun fact, naruto (including shipuden and boruto), at time of posting this, has exactly 100 less episodes than one piece. Case closed has 21 more episodes than one piece. Pokemon (with ash) has 165 more episodes than one piece. One piece is ranked 16 in anime with most episodes not including pokemon, and is 9th only including those that are still in production also not including pokemon. Doraemon plus its reboot has a combined total of 3171 episodes, and the reboot is still running. Can we please stop giving one piece shit for its number of episodes? It's funny to meme about, but the length is only due to the depth put into the world/characters, depth put into the story, and toei bad (exept for recently, the animation quality rn is fucking fire) which is what people complain about the most in anime.
It's more than a thousand episodes dude. Comparatively there are longer anime but that doesn't make it not long as shit and it's fine that some don't wanna dedicate so much time to a decades long saga.
@silverkip2992 the point is that no one gives any of these other anime crap about being drawn out too long, but one piece does. I call for anime equality!
The giant babies were given growth-enhancing drugs that were made to be beyond heroin levels of addictive and shaped and wrapped like candy. So that's why they're giant.
The series is actually peak, aka worth watching. If you dislike the filler, than you should go ahead and watch One Pace rather than ruining the entire show.
@@roguevolt2279 I mean filler including content & pacing. I mean "ruining the entire show" by watching episodes out of order and potentially spoiling major plot points.
A lot of people have trouble working up to watching One Piece because of the sheer episode count. However, this anime is so good that the vast majority of people that do watch it end up loving it so much that they wish there were more episodes once they have caught up.
This man literally said that Oda must've ran out of ideas at whole cake island, not realizing that everything was pre planned, he hides Zoro's eye that eventually gets "blinded" on the first episode! He has it all planned out!
BON VOYAGE THO! Edit: It helps that I've been watching this show on and off for the past 20 years. I doubt I'd be able to watch every episode if I had to start from the beginning right now, but watching one season a year over 20 years was actually pretty easy.
