I didn't consider it similar to the rest of the list since Netflix unceremoniously dumped the whole thing out in one day. This whole video is more or less covering initial impressions and guesses as to the entertainment value of airing shows from this season. That would be hard for Pluto since my initial impression and my final impression would be the same. If you are wondering, Pluto is great and readers of this comment should watch it :)
@@MrDeflador Not even close. The comedy is on the angle of Gintama or Nichijo. Again, Tristan has a terrible nose to parse when he is watching romance and when he is watching comedy. Like the time he had to re-review Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun because he realized that he was demanding romantic development from a literal gag manga parodying shojo romances.

The series definitely gets weirder as it progresses along with the character development and humor. Also there is a proper ending that had me tear up a little. In part due to Nami Sano's (manga's artist) passing a few months prior. If you are questioning watching it it's worth sticking with.
The Apothecary Diaries has managed to something that I can't really remember any anime doing in the last like 2 years: Make me genuinely terrified of the main character when she gets mad. That scene with her losing it when finding out the ladies-in-waiting still used the poisonous make up was so raw and powerful, and Aoi Yuki brought that to life so well that I genuinely shrinked back in my seat cuz I was scared ^^
Since I expected Frieren to be great, the apothecary diary is THE surprise hit of this season. In no way would I have imagined loving it so much and wouldn't even has thought about watching it if not for my wife asking me to.
I wasn't really that shocked by that outburst, because it is easy to relate. I mean, imagine that you identify a problem and inadvertedly get yourself involved trying to solve it, someone dies due to the problem because they don't listen, yet the problem is mostly solved because you got it right, then you're ordered under the threat of death to finish the very same problem off, some morons prevent you from doing that, and as you press on, you realize the only reason why the problem still isn't closed up and harder to fix is the very same morons who prevented you from doing it. When you look at that situation in scope, Maomao still holding it together would be unrealistic to the point of absurd. Lost story short, yeah, Apothecary Diary can easily compete for the best of the season. The art, music and comedy are all great.
If you enjoy Apothecary Diaries, Raven of the Inner Palace (aired last year) has a similar vibe (possibly due to the pseudo-Chinese imperial court CSI style stories) It's a bit more fantastical and deal with supernatural mysteries rather the more reality based crimes though.
100 girlfriends actually works, for one simple reason: it is unapologetically a parody. While it does find success in the quality moments like those seen in the early episodes, the poly relationship mostly works because the protagonist is actually the most comedically colorful character of the whole cast(though that's not so obvious early on) and when he says he'll love each of them as much as if they were his only one, he means it, and the girls are okay with sharing because after their introductory arc, they basically consider each other family. It's a "don't think too hard about it" situation not because it sweeps the issues under the rug, but because it clearly just works out for these caricaturesque characters.
I think 100Kano tries too hard to be seen as a parody and ends up as a gag comedy with romance sprinkled in. I really wanted the series to develop around meeting the different girls with their own distinct features, that would not only blindly fall in love with the MC; but also learn how to love themselves (eg. Shizuka's introduction). Instead to me it feels like they abandon this idea in favor of more absurd comedy, which I found disappointing.
@@darfs I'm mostly the opposite. I think the series really came into its own once it started leaning more heavily into the absurdity. The opening chapters are fun for the sheer audacity of their commitment to such a trashy premise, but going back I don't find them particularly funny. Modern chapters are usually crushed under the weight of the massive cast (as was always going to happen with this premise), but there was a good run there where it was really in a groove.

Under ninja is hilarious. I'm surprised to hear you were bored from it. I actually laughed out loud enough to wake up someone in the next room when main guy showed up at this girls house and she goes "how do you know where I live?!?" and he says without missing a beat "Don't you remember when I followed you home the other day without you noticing?". The line itself and the delivery and the fact that this guy has just been the biggest possible creep came together so well in that moment. The fucking ninpo water escape technique, the dick slicing foreigner, the prototype marishiten, the whole thing really. It's comedy gold.
To address you doubt about how many girls 100 Girlfriends will actually show- no, this show is ALL IN. The manga is at 26 and counting. That's just the kind of show this is, doesn't half-ass ANYTHING.
I thought it would just a parody and have cheap laughs, but it's actually one of the most romantic and well done stories. So tired of waiting 4 seasons so the two lovers finally confess and then for nothing to really happen.
It already seems like it is scraping the bottom of the barrel to write 100 characters. It feels like the writer jokingly brought up the concept of 100 girlfriends, but now their panicking when they realize they have to actually MAKE 100 characters

There hasn't been a gamer girl or gamedev girl, no fitness freak, no emo, no punk, no narcoleptic, no biker, no twins, no artist, there are tons of possible exchange students. There are games and shows that have more girls than 100 Kanojo has atm, so I don't think you can actually run out of ideas any time soon. Don't underestimate author's willingness to go all the way
Wish you mentioned the one thing that has really elevated Im in Love with the Villainess for me, the fact that they actually discuss Rae's sexuality. The characters dont just ignore the fact that Rae's attracted to women nor do some of them simply accept it. As a yuri show, it's doing a lot more than past shows.
Yeah, I appreciated that part too. There have been a lot of good yuri lately, but not many that actually explicitly state that their characters are gay, let alone talk about it. Magical Revolution was the other big one, where one character explicitly stated she only liked women and the other expressed that she didn't really like men. And ofc Gundam had both characters be bi, and one of them pointed out that same-sex relationships weren't a problem, so that was pretty good too.
So happy this show is getting the high ratings and reviews! The books and Manga are great and the anime is doing them justice while hitting all the right notes in terms of the message/story.
@@fakesmile172 LN reader here, Tearmoon really has three gimmicks, Mia is a dumbass trying her best and failing upwards, people who are actually competent mistake her for a genius and carry her sorry ass through misunderstanding, Mia is actually surprisingly competent in a limited selection of skills that allow her to actually solve certain problems. I personally find Tearmoon to be great, the pseudo historical setting and nicely done setup/payoffs make it a personal favorite of mine.

I know people abhor the "and it was all just a fever dream before they died" explanation but ffs, at least it IS one. Also, because people hate that explanation so much I want them to suffer it as many times as possible. Maybe we could get some good ones once in a while if people did more often. Besides not everything needs a profound explanation, I will die on the hill of "The Red Spectacles was nothing but a fever dream, yet I love this movie". Things just need something. edit: For the record, I have been enjoying the show so far and I have never said everything I like is good (except music). btw, whenever I hear some version of "it just happened" all I can think of is Todd Howard saying "It just works".
Out of everything this season I was most surprised by "I'm in love with the Villainess". What I was expecting was a goofy yuri comedy with a masochist for the female lead, and it is that in spades. What I was NOT expecting was an in depth, well thought out and nuanced conversation about sexual orientation, feelings of loneliness, rejection and the internal dialogue of someone who has dealt with being othered for their entire life within the first few episodes.
I used to read the novel as it was being written chapter by chapter and it very quickly turned into probably my all time favorite yuri novel to date. I think there was only a single thing I didn't like about the novel and it involved one of the characters that shows up waaay later who was essentially a side character anyway so it hardly counts.
Even Akasaka-sensei (author of Kaguya-sama) has Nakamura-sensei's back if he even gets flamed by the internet, with their recent interview exchange. He even called him a... MADMAN
While _I’m in Love with the Villainess_ seems like it’s about Rei doggedly pursuing Claire and trying to get into an actual relationship with her, it’s _actually_ about how being queer in modern Japan messed with Rei and how the whole “I care about them enough to leave them to the one they love” mindset is harmful, but _actually_ it’s about class struggle and revolution against oppressive class systems.
The 100 girlfriends one explains that if he only chooses one the ones he doesn’t choose dies. This shows you didn’t watch the show at all because of bias. Plus the mc is interesting as hell and the show is hilarious.
I don't begrudge anyone for hating the tropes of harem anime, but 100 girlfriends addresses all of Tristan's concerns. The girls don't share Rentaro *separately*, they share him *together*. They are not in competition with each other, they love and support each other, and refer to themselves and MC as "Rentaro's family." Sometimes they do thing as a large group, sometimes they do things in small groups, occasionally they get one-on-one time. Sometimes the girls do things together without Rentaro even being around. It's weird and silly but in a way kind of aspirational? Despite being a ridiculous comedy anime, everyone's emotionally invested and everyone's feelings are respected. There are other reasons to be cautious about 100 Girlfriends, but I think Tristan's apprehensions outlined in this video are not born out by watching the series. But you do have to kind of invest in a few episodes to trust that it's going to be what it is, and not be what most harem are. The well has truly been poisoned by the harems that have come before. But if this leads the way to more mostly-wholesome polyamorous romantic comedies, I'm all for it. The manga is doing some impressive work, but even as a supporter of the series, I have to wonder if 100 girls is actually sustainable.

It's a BEAUTIFUL show don't get me wrong but it's so slow and boring. Maybe when it's done I'll binge it or something. There's a reason most anime end with killing the demon lord though

The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons is imo one of the most underrated shows of the season. It's such a heartwarming story with lots of relatable and realistic elements to it. I hope more people watch this one!
You HEAVILY underestimate Hyakkano and what it brings to the table. I read the manga, and without going into spoilers of course, it's an absolutely phenomenal series built around great comedy with a mix of absurdism, fourth wall breaking, and standard jokes, as well as just very well done character moments not just with the MC, but between the various girlfriends. Not sure how much the anime will get to, but this is not anything at all like usual harem shows
The shows that are my favourites from this season are Frieren, 100 girlfriends, Undead Unluck, Apothecary Diaries, Pluto. I'm kinda surprised that you though 100 kanojo is realistic series, it's a harem Gintama/Bobo-bo, it's deliberate unhinged insanity that is weirdly genuine and wholesome. MC doesn't have problem with dedicated time too all of them since this love monster will teardown time/space/borders of the manga using power of love to give his unlimited devotion to everyone.
and let's not forget the memes in the series itself. There are so many meme lines they used and might create even more insane reaction caps simply by the nature of the series. There are always screenshots that I pass around with friends that also watch the series. "Emotional damage!" "Logic stocks are crashing! Sell now!" "Somebody stop this brainrot epidemic!" "Alas, reality is a cruel mistress." and of course the chad angel "I can die happy now" just to name a few. This series is really, really, really, really, really worth watching. It's just stupid fun.
The manga for Apothecary Diaries is really good. I have preferred it over the light novel my self. I have been enjoying the anime adaptation as well and think it does do some things a bit better (the scene where Maomao finds the poisoned face powder was still being used is GREAT in the anime), but the artwork in the manga is FANTASTIC.
The way the scene was presented combined with Aoi Yuki's impeccable voice acting actually made me genuinely TERRIFIED of Maomao when she gets mad, I can't remember the last time that happened with an anime character ^^
Which manga? The one that ended after 10 issues that was better at adaptation, but worse in art, or the remake with better art that is still ongoing? Joking, I know which one, I just like the factlet, that they tried it, ended it after 10 issues, and immediately went at it again, no wait, whatsoever.

100 girlfriends is like one of the most Anime things I've seen in a while. I watch and think yes, this is anime like I remember. Almost makes me feel nostalgic to those old ecchi comedy without the literally in your face fan service. I like it.

Some are better than others and I could name more but got tired of scrolling tbh. Not many new new things on there. "is this a zombie" is still a favorite with it's comedy. Sakura's trick is one of the best Yuri. I'm sure you can find something... interesting in that list.
That's kind of the whole point of 100Kanojo though??? Seeing how the protagonist manages to support each girl and loves them equally. It's also a show who's protagtonist has genuine agency and character. It derives its comedy from the absurdity of its premise.
Yeah I think if you take the premise seriously then it's an issue but the show knows the plot is absurd and plays with it. This is probably top 5 of the season

I actually like Vexation (of a shut-in vampire princess). There is an over arching plot as to why she became a shut-in in the first place, and her aversion to drinking blood, and the action scene that follows from the first time it (the answer to the first two points) was revealed was oddly satisfying.
Yeah and if you read the Light Novel its really good. I didn't completely read all of it to avoid spoiler cause i feel like I want to watch it all first before continuing to read but even knowing just a little spoilers I will say that this show really have a big potential considering the author as as rookie he is good. Also the nature of Komari's Core Implosion is really interesting if you think that's it then there's more
"There has to be an upper limit on what this one man can physically support" truly, the words of someone unfamiliar with 100Kanojo's game. The narrative's capacity to support new girlfriends will give out long before Rentarou's, and fully convincing me of this is one of the best things 100 Girlfriends does. He is not bound by the shackles which the rest of humanity has grown used to. It's not for everyone, some of the comedy doesn't translate fantastically to animation, and it takes a while to really get rolling. But it's a very fun time once it starts getting into the swing of things.
100Kanojo is such a giant 4th wall breaking wild ride that seriously complaining about harem logistics seems silly. It's like complaining about Gintama "People ride on a giant cat, but cats aren't giant, toss"
Frienren is the only thing I'm really watching and it's been great. Those first couple episodes really got to me as someone who has now outlived all their friends.

Especially since previous generations on both sides of my family have all lived to be really old barring accidents. Personally along with starting to see more friends die, I have seen more than I like just move out of state (Ct.) and never be heard from again. A couple of them just up and moved without so much as a word to anyone (afaik anyways). For all intents and purposes they are all dead. And it sucks just as much as if they did die. Can't chill because they are dead, can't chill because they f***ed off to Texas. Same effect in the end. atm, aside from family, there is all of two people whom I met before my late 20's left in the area. I hang out with one of them regularly. The other, the last time we hung out was when he came to tell me that a very close mutual friend (that I had known since I was 10 or 11) had died. A few years back... more than a few now, more like 8. Anyways, I'll stop. I'm depressing myself enough, no need to subject anyone else to more.
It's funny how complicated the premise for Vampire Princess is. Nearly everything in your synopsis ends up being sort of backtracked in the next couple episodes- Turns out there is permadeath in the series, the 3rd and 4th episodes ditch being a comedy almost entirely, and Komari ends up not being weak at all. It's a very strangely written show
Actually, the 100 girlfriend's anime is quite good, the comedy is good and is more of a joke than anything else, in the manga they are already at more than 20 girlfriends, all of them pretty unique and all of them receiving the same screen time. Also, he literally goes out with a mother, a granny and his motherfucking cousin. They even break the 4th wall saying they dont know how the fuck they are still serialised.
You should give 100GF a second chance, I does start out looking like a straight romantic comedy, but it quickly shows its true colours, it's much closer to something like Gintama than your average harem anime, with tons of absurd/meta humour.
"The 100 Girlfriends who really really really really really love you" is the harem comedy to end all other harem comedys and Rentaro is the CHAD of all chads. No more will they/won't they nonsense. No more best girl war. Every girl is best girl (Hakari😁). And they all bath in the light that is the best harem mc ever. Heil Rentaro.😊😊😊😁

100 Girlfriends makes fun of the basic harem formula, and it's also the reason why it is such a beloved series from the fans: Like instead of having the typical harem mc's of being dense and nervous, Rentarou in this series is more forward with his feelings to the point that it becomes very extreme. Everything that his girls are trying to do to him, he knows it immediately, he doesn't have any sign of hesitation, and he's very observant too. This man canonicaly can go on for weeks occupying his time with his girlfriends without any sleep and he will still be in a very stable condition. And another thing I've also like with this series is that girlfriends ralationship with each other is not toxic. Like they spend most of their time together in a very wholesome way
A point of contention: With Tearmoon, Princess Mia was in fact executed quite ceremoniously. It pains me to hear you word it as the opposite. An unceremonious execution would have been her guards just stabbing her to death in her cell. Ceremony does not have to be nice. It doesn't really have to be polite. It does however, need to be formal and that is exactly what we are shown in the first episode.
I personally love “My New Boss is Goofy”, but I can understand if it isn’t for you. If there are folks that like slice-of-life comedy, then maybe give an episode or two. It’s not explicitly a romance anime, but the undertones are there, so if there are folks looking for that too, then give it an ep or two.
I watched it and I LOVED it. It was so cute and funny. I really enjoyed how soothing/healing the episodes are and how relatable the 2 main characters are. Although I have to say, the last 3 episodes dragged a little and I didnt enjoy being bl baited, AGAIN (looking at you Buddy Daddies).
I don't think they will half-ass the plot of 100 girlfriends since it's definitely fully committed to go on for 100. It's 26 in the manga and at some point, I believe they will fully commit to it (unless there's an unfortunate incident happen, which I hope it wont happen) I also don't like harem or even romance that much, but the anime/manga is so self-aware of it's cliche characters, story, and comedy that it's enjoyable to watch. And there's also really good arcs, wholesome and serious moments.
Tearmoon Empire is the first time I try a "Villainess" story and it's been surprisingly great so far! I'll definitely try to watch some more anime with this theme later on.
"My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" is certainly worth a watch, the first season is great. It falls off a bit after that, but I still enjoy spending time with the characters. I don't quite want to call it 'the original villainess' because I'm really not sure what happened with this genre in publishing world before the anime adaptations started flowing... but still, there's a reason it was the first villainess to get an anime adaptation.
@@TheGeladoo After Otome game (next life as a villianess), you might also want to consider "I am the villianess, so I'm taming the final boss" (a more intelligent bakarina), and "The most heretical last boss queen" (she does get a bit Mary Sue-ish though)
I think you've made a fatal mistake on the judgement of 100 Girlfriends: using sane people logic. The story is purposefully absurd and slides wholeheartedly into parody series, where every time it questions whether or not something like this can even work it quadruples-down because this is 100 Girlfriends and insanity is a required of the cast, especially since every character is a comedically overblown archetype in the best way possible. If you are inherently dissuaded from the show by title and premise alone, there's not much I can do. But to anyone who is willing to accept this series isn't going to take itself seriously in the slightest, it's funny as fuck and definitely worth a watch.
With all due respect, Rentarou is a better harem MC than most if not ALL Harem MCs. Unlike others, Rentarou earns and maintains the love with the GFs. I understand most harem has been disappointments for years. But if you are willing to give 100 GFs a chance, I promise you Rentarou is a guy who loving more than the harem itself. As a fan of yours for years, I hope you can give this anime a chance…
Also there is one last thing I should mention. You believe Rentarou would divide his time with his GFs with mere days for each. That’s already a misconception. Since each girl doesn’t just have Rentarou, they also have the other GFs to spend time with. Simply put, This is a harem with the least rivalry and that’s a good thing.

In an absurd way that gives the "struggles" of other romcom MCs the middle finger. Like, he absolutely didnt need to make an ebook for Shizuka, could have just told her to use a text to speech that everyone can find. Everything is possible in this series.
Yeah I hope so much for it to gain traction and keep going, or like he mentioned, at least reach a satisfying stopping point. But, as a manga reader I can't really decide where that would be without having some form of unsatisfying cliffhanger. But also as a manga reader, I can whole-heartedly encourage anyone slightly interested in this to read it, because it is fantastic. This adaptation from David production has been spot on exactly what I wanted and I love it, but it does not diminish my love for the manga in any way either.
I read all the 150 chapters of Shangri la frontier, and I can say that it will not be a harem show! It just people who really good and passionate playing video games!
100 Girlfriends is actually hilarious , i recommend people watch it atleast for the laughs, the 4wall breaking and absurd self aware jokes makes it worth while for most,
I feel like you took 100 Girlfriends way more seriously than 100 Girlfriends ever takes itself lmao. Like all well and good if you don’t like it but arguing about the logistics of how having 100 girlfriends would even work isn’t actually talking about anything the show does. It’s a parody series that focuses on comedy first and foremost who cares how having 100 Girlfriends would actually work that’s not the point.
The Under Ninja is a hidden gem. The more series goes on, the more reveals it gets, and , suddenly, you may find yourself in the middle of a story, that have complicated plot, very interesting word building and characters, that only seems like a clowns at the first glance, but actually pretty convincing and serious (the milk guy was the best). You may want to give this at leas 4 episodes. Trust me, a noname from interweb, on that!

100 Girlfriends is an extremely dedicated shitpost/love letter to harem comedies. definitely a matter of taste and I can understand bouncing off it, but it works for me because it's so stupid and disinterested in realism. from manga panels I've seen this show is going to go to ever-escalating realms of absurdity. how does it justify the girls accepting each other? DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. also the first three at least have become good friends. Vexations of a Shut-in Vampire Princess is weird because watching two episodes and watching four episodes are night and day in terms of one's impression of the series. you think after two episodes that you know what this series is doing, but that is not the case. what it does might seem to undermine the main premise, but it actually adds more layers, while also giving Komari a lot more depth as a character you want to root for to succeed. also it's low key pretty gay so for anyone who considers that a positive I recommend it. I did notice that the video missed The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch, though I'm pretty sure that would get a Toss. but I very much enjoy it, largely for the voice acting, with two industry greats in Aoi Koga and Nana Mizuki as the leads (with Mizuki herself singing the OP). though the biggest draw might be Phoenix, a majestic phoenix drawn like a child's doodle, with a deep voice and a loose but well-meaning understanding of mortals. it's a sitcom-ish fantasy whose nearest comparison point is probably The Vampire Dies in No Time, complete with out of pocket Not For Children humor moments. it likes to undercut common fantasy tropes as one of its main gags, with the other most common one being the adopted daughter Viola being super-overprotective of her witch mom Alissa. or Viola looking like a mature woman but actually being an extremely impulsive child. some other notes: lol about Shangri-La Frontier and the girls in the OP. for those two featured with Sunraku, one of them uses games to let out her dark side, and for the other, uh, G.I.R.L. there are other girls introduced later in the manga, but there's basically no romance aside from that one shy girl's one-sided feelings. it's all gaming all the time. Undead Unluck is a show I can see running for quite a long time because the characters are good, the worldbuilding and power system are interesting, and according to manga readers it has a really dramatic plot change partway through that takes the story from good to super-great. I would say that you don't really know what the show is until episode 5 so if anyone wants to give the show a fair shot, 5 episodes are necessary. Stardust Telepath didn't interest me at first, but I gave it a couple more episodes, and then I was like 'hold up, this show is gearing up for Something'. I just have this feeling like it's hiding what it really is behind layers of cuteness. S-Rank Daughter is kind of funny to me because Saori Hayami voices Ange, and since Spy x Family is also running this season, it's hard not to just hear Yor when Ange talks. she does add a more childish and petty edge to Ange, but it's still kind of funny. I guess Hayami is the go-to VA for pretty, badass girls that are kind of childish and goofy.
Honestly you gotta keep up with Vexations of a Vampire Princess. A lot of stuff gets revealed in eps 4-5 that'll change your mind and put a few puzzle pieces together. Recommend you put it on Hold for now.
There's like a million shows I want to watch this season (unlike last season where I found none that I'm interested in) and yet I just keep rewatching Frieren.
Frieren and The Apothecary Diaries are easily my favorites this season as well! No competition really. Also love to have female protagonists in these series.
@52:02 Okay, that's a fair read of 100 girlfriends's given how it initially presents itself, but if I might defend it. It's not meant to be a grounded look at polyamorous relationships through the lense of dramatic-romance harem story (for something like that, girlfriend girlfriend is gonna be more in line) and as it goes on it reveals itself to be more of an absurdist satire of the genre. The main boy, Retarou is so over-the-top powered by love that he can do humanly impossible things for the sake of his girlfriends, almost saying 'look boys: if you really want a harem full of fully realized people to actually love you, this is the lengths you'd actually need to go to, and boys: it's humanly impossible.' Also there is some minor drama surrounding the introductions of new girls to the harem, with several characters getting full arcs dedicated to integrating them into the group. As the manga progresses and we get more girlfriends introduced (we're on girlfriend 26 now), while the manga is still generally about the main character's relationship with the girls, the girls do get a substancial amount of time dedicated to their interactions with each other: many chapters don't feature Rentarou at all and some even pass the bechdal test (in requirements though not in spirit) for the entire duration. But yeah, you're correct that it's not realistic and it's probably not to your tastes. For most things, you gots ta appreciate the genre to appreciate satirical takes on it.
Ron Kamonohashi is definitely the hidden gem of 2023, I'm glad you're keeping it, easily a refreshing take on a mystery anime in my opinion. Super glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
I'm watching and enjoying it but I'm three or four episodes in and don't feel connected to the characters. The characters I do feel a connection with are in the "I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness". That show is so cute and wholesome and now appears to be going into character development I never expected.
The 100 girlfriends manga is incredibly funny to me, with the exception of some pretty weird moments. I am so incredibly happy that each girl is given an introduction, and currently the girls have a lot of ridiculous quirks that are not typical. And we get many different interactions. And dang it, I wish Rentarou was my boyfriend too! He's such a chad, that the girls just don't care about 100 timing everyone. Hell, the girls get along with each other and bond over this man. My favorite arc in the manga was Karane, the tsundere girl learning to accept herself the way she is instead of getting rid of this character trait because she hates it. It was done in a funny way, but the emotions were there!! The anime is pretty good too, I am so happy seeing them all come to life.

2 things about Shangrila. 1. Nothing about his choices are implied as off meta, save selling his starting armor, which is less off meta and more like 'veteran gamer' choices. 2. There is no harem.

There's a character who likes someone and that's literally it for like 3 seasons worth of manga to anime adaption.
Poor Migi & Dali getting a pass from all these anitubers bc it didnt front load its goal in episode 1. In its defense, they say their goal in episode 2: someone from this town murdered their mother, and the two are investigating the town to find out who. Their trump card is nobody knowing that theyre twins, and knowing that the room they were apparently living in exclusively had a water flea wallpaper with their doodles on it. So, thats what theyre looking for.

A Returners Magic should be special is such a good a Manga. I havent been up to date, but its actually really well written and i hope the Anime can adapt all of the great aspects of the manga
I'm currently rereading A Returner's Magic Should be Special and I can say for sure, this manhwa is a Grade A banger. However, the anime is definitely a disappointment in comparison due to its lackluster animation.

What about "The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch"? I actually think this might be at least a Hold, depending on how it goes past the first episodes. It would be worth it to check it out. "The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy" is also missing, but I can fairly easily guess what would have been the verdict, at least from the first episode.
