The water at the end of the movie wasn’t sewage water. 😂 Towards the beginning of the movie Sophie says the hotel is believed to built on top of Aphrodite's fountain the water of which supposedly brings true love, so that’s what was meant to be bursting out of the earth.
I heard that everyone in the movie were given a lot to drink whenever they were working, to give it the right sense of partying at the beach or something like that. Also the person playing piano during Dancing Queen, was one of the people with ABBA
This is a jukebox musical. They took existing songs and retrofitted a musical to them. My favorite song when done right is Lay All Your Love On Me. In stage musicals, when the dude crew comes out, they come out in huge snorkel flippers and do their choreography in it. As for the prelude to the title song, it’s usually where she sees the first guy and is surprised but happy, sees the second and is surprised but happy, and the third… “youuuuu…”
The man who plays piano on the boat when they were singing dancing queen was benny Andersson a member of ABBA and one of the writers of all ABBA songs im a big ABBA fan
This is such a great feel-good movie! It isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t need to be. The cast just has fun with it and we are along for the ride. Plus you can never go wrong with ABBA music!
I grew up singing ABBA songs with my sweet late mother, and this was her all-time favorite movie. Thanks for the fun reaction -- it was a nice walk down memory lane. Little bit of trivia -- this was a "jukebox musical" on the West End and then Broadway, and one of the first musicals to reopen after 9/11. Meryl Streep attended with her daughters, and it moved her so much and made her so happy that she wrote to the creators and thanked them for giving her joy even after 9/11.
I have to thank you so much for this reaction! This was one of my mom’s favorite musical films as she loved ABBA! I still have the memory of us when we went and saw this with my cousins when I was young and then we saw the sequel together years later. It’s one of my fondest memories of her. Watching this reaction felt like she was still here with me. You have got to watch Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. If you’re interested in any other jukebox musical films, I must recommend these: Rock of Ages, Rocketman, Sing, Sing 2, Lovestruck the Musical, Alvin and the Chipmunks tetralogy, Cinderella (2021), and Trolls trilogy. I must recommend you check out this Christmas musical film, Dolly Patton’s Christening On The Square, which also stars Christine Baranski (Tanya). 👰🏼♀️👩🏼👨❓💙🩵🤍
Also to add, I don’t know if it was intentional on Stellan Skarsgård’s part, but I’ve always loved Bill’s confusion when Sophie brings up giving her away. Bill (and Stellan) is Swedish, and we don’t have that tradition here, the couple walk down the aisle together instead. So it’s a really neat little character beat that feels incredibly genuine, because it’s the same reaction my Swedish father would have if I ever were to ask him that lol. Bill’s nakedness is also 100% accurate, there’s pictures of my father cooking in nothing but an apron too
I love the mama mia movies! Please watch the 2nd one, i really hope you do😊 also loving watching you and jane on her channel. Shes a beautiful woman. Hello from Scotland 🏴
I think each of the "dads" had a reason why in the moment he didn't reaction like you said. Sam because he knew he shared the blame as he got with Donna while he was engaged and then disappeared on her to marry his fiancee (although he did come back but she didn't know). He broke her heart, so I guess he was more aware of and focused on that. It makes sense she didn't tell him. Harry never thought he'd have kids, so he was just so happy to have as he said even a third of a daughter. And Bill was commitment-phobic, so he wasn't even sure he wanted a daughter retrospectively, until he only had a third of the responsibility, so he would not have wanted Donna to contact him.
Justin, these songs are all made from the VERY famous, SWEDISH band ABBA! Your homework is to listen to all of their songs! You should watch the second one as well!☺️ You also have Stellan Skarsgård, a beloved Swede 😁
ABBA was incredibly popular (and still is) in Australian. So I grew up listening to my mum's CD and learning all these songs off by heart. I dont think there is a single Australian who didn't know every single song in this movie.
I was scouring RU-vid all yesterday for mamma Mia reactions, can’t believe you reacted to it! Loved it! Really want to see Jane’s reaction as well one day
I haven't been subbed til now but I've been following your recent uploads (banger movies) the new format looks great! this is a childhood fav for me and totally hyped you're reacting to it!!
Soooooo many reactors question plot decisions in this movie but accept movies and franchises like Harry Potter, face off, lord of the rings, kill bill, etc?
As the policy sais, i will try to be as respectful as i can with my comment, but really man? Every f$## video you are crying, i do hope you are ok, its concerning to your viewers. Dont you have something lighter and funny you can watch? Or i believe its the thumbnail, there is no thumbnail in your channel where it shows you smiling and happy. Its all tears and crying. Relax and please watch something really really funny.
