Selena always held her mic close to her mouth and had lipstick on it! She wanted them to hear her full voice! You should really watch the series it tells the full story of her whole life! 100% appreciate and love her so much!
*This movie hits hard. It's impossible to not cry at the end of it, especially when they show the montage of pictures and videos of her as her song "Dreaming Of You" plays. Being Mexican-American myself, Selena was basically our Princess Diana. She was incredibly talented and supremely kind, But ultimately died young. She was only 23 at the time of her death.*
Listennnnnn!!! The way you jumped out of that chair at the end!!!!!! That’s exactly how we all felt. Black, White, Hispanic. We all can collectively say that Yolanda’s ass can rot in jail forever!!!!
The 30th anniversary of the crime is coming up next year. Yolanda is now in her 60s. The actress who played her was much older than the actual woman. Unfortunately, Yolanda is supposed to be out on parole next year. Someone is going to unalive her when she gets out. I guarantee it. I'm surprised a fellow inmate has not already. I would be completely satisfied for Yolanda to remain in prison to the end of her days. No parole.
Apparently the psycho that killed her is supposed to be up for parole in 2025 if she gets out all i gotta say is best believe people will be waiting outside the prison for her ass and best believe she will be dealt with
From the 1st episode when the people at the time were being interviewed that one lady said "she better get locked up, because she ain't gonna make it out here, I guarantee that" 😂
@@imauniryne6757Ughhh just disgusting....just how damn delusional is she? Like a young beautiful woman of her talent and stature would EVER touch her with a ten foot pole 🤢🤢🤢

I literally can not watch Selena without crying. If I hear the first note of Dreaming of You.. It makes me so sad. because i think of how she was taken so soon and how devastated Chris was.
Bidi Bidi Bom Bom is the sound of your heart for someone that you're in love with whenever that person is in your presence your heart skips a beat and it goes Bidi Bidi Bom Bom
There was a deleted scene in this movie where Selena had this fashion show, and at the end of the fashion show, she was walking towards Yolanda, but then she tripped and fell, and that woman didn't even help her up, just stood and turned her nose up at her. That's how I knew that lady was low down...anyway good upload 😊❤👍👍
Respectfully, Abraham’s speech in the car about what it’s like to be Mexican-American is one of the most profound and relatable moments for a lot of us who weren’t raised to speak Spanish. It’s a very complex identity and can be painful when your identity as both Mexican and American is also rejected by both. Anyway, it was interesting to watch a young person who doesn’t know Selena’s story watch this movie 😊
Same! My grandparents never taught my dad or uncles because they wanted to make sure they were assimilated to America. Thus my sisters and I were never taught. I've tried learning on my own and I know some basic stuff but definitely not good at all lol
@@stuckinmyshow yes my Nana told me how they were punished in school for using Spanish (1930’s). She told me how she once almost got picked to give a speech in school because it was so good, but they let another little girl give her speech because that girl was Anglo. Out of my 4 grandparents, 3 were born here and they didn’t teach their kids Spanish, so by the time my generation came along were completely monolingual. There’s so much pain around our ancestor’s relationship with their language and culture, and it doesn’t help people like us when those who are supposed to be our people bully us over something we had no control over.
It’s the same for many Black Americans. Too black for white people and not Black enough for Africans. With an identity being stripped, sometimes it’s hard to find where you belong in America.
The mic being to close to her mouth, that’s how much JLo studied Selena. Selena used to hold her mic very close to her mouth and was always tainted with her red lipstick, she would clean it with a little brush after every concert, but after her last concert, sadly she couldn’t clean it one last time. Now it’s on display at her museum in Corpus Christi, with the lipstick still on it.
It could really be the most unexpected person ever, sad because she had been given so much warnings but was too naive, innocent and trusting to know it. She trusted her completely...
when his father ask in interview what he could change about selena his father said he could change selena about trusting people she's to much trusting people and think that anyone could hurt her she could be still with us today
Fun fact: that was actually Chris Perez playing the guitar during Chris' audition scene. Did you peep how Yolanda took the credit for buying her the ring when it came from money that the other ladies were going to use to get her a present? Also, the fans in the movie that were acting as fans and 1:05:11 onward, were real Selena fans.
“That’s all you got for me” after the Disco Medley ended… mind you the real disco medley is almost 8 minutes long and was the opening for that particular concert, where she performed for over an 1 hour, no breaks, no costume changes, no in-ear monitors, and dancing all the show with high heel boots. It’s exceptional.
Your reaction was so genuine. After watching your reaction to this movie I can see how the writers did get the message that this movie intended to get across. The way you felt when you saw in the movie that Selena was shot was the exact same way Selena's fans reacted to hearing the news and the sadness you felt when you found out that Selena passed away is the saw exact saddest Selena 's fans displayed back when they found out. When you began punching the chair when you found out that Selena was dead is the same emotions that many and most of Selena's fans felt back then. The fans were so sadden and out raged, truly . They were so mad at Yolanda and were actually asking for the death penalty for Yolanda. It saddened the fans that Selena was so young and at the peak of her career when her life was taken from her and everyone who loved her. Your reaction took me back to what we lived back then. Wonderful reaction
Fun fact: the last person that saw Selena alive besides Yolanda of course was her father in law. Chris’ father was visiting them and she crossed him in the hall way leaving that morning to meet Yolanda. 😢😢😢
I was also in middle school when she passed. I didn’t know who she was until that announcement. Watching this movie, especially the end HURT to know that a beautiful soul was taken so soon. After listening to her music and watching the film (JLO did beautiful with this portrayal), I am a life long fan. ❤
This movie will forever be iconic and it still hits hard asf no matter how much I've seen this movie since childhood. One of my favorite biopics! J. Lo did such an amazing job playing Selena. 🙏🏻 R.I.P SELENA 🥺❤️
I still cry every time I watch the ending. She had such a a beautiful soul. She is a Texas legend and a queen taken too soon. I was barely a year old when she died.
Selena and Chris’s story will forever touch my heart. They fought to make sure that marriage was gon’ happen! 😂❤️ Fun Fact: Did you know Selena’s dad didn't want Jennifer Lopez to play Selena? I forgot why but I read it on the internet.
It was because she's not Mexican, JLo is Puerto Rican & a lot of Selena's fans were upset that a Puerto Rican was going to play Selena. They wanted a Mexican to play Selena, & I believe the first person they initially chose ended up getting murdered by her boyfriend, so they went with JLo.
i cried at the montage at the end 😭 any time i watch something Selena related i always end up crying. She did so much for mexican americans, she had so much to live for.
Yes it is truly a piss off to me that she was young and beautiful and talented, had everything to live for that a girl could possibly want, just to have some delusional wacko take it from her 😠😠😡
This biopic made J.Lo a household name. Prior to this biopic J.Lo was a fly girl on the 90s sketch comedy show In Living Color & she was on the forgotten short lived sitcom South Central with Larenz Tate.
yolanda had shown selena her gun before that day, and yolanda had attempted to meet selena alone multiple times before that day. she shot selena in the back while selena turned and ran away.
Selena won tons of Tejano Awards of TexMex awards her brutha A.B wrote Songs and wanted love from all her fans and In a relationship with guitarist who is Chris Pérez who makes Selena feel so loved and happy and really respected.
Dreaming of you was written for Chris Perez he never listened to it until after she passed he was supposed to be in the studio with her when she made that song but Abraham would keep him and her busy always so he wasn’t able to watch his wife make a masterpiece about him he ended up doing drugs for awhile then met his 2nd wife had 2 kids and then divorced he said no woman can ever compare to Selena she was his person and she was taken from him because of jealousy and anger they were literally talking about slowing down from doing music so they could start there own family and nope she was killed had Yolanda hit a little more up or down she would have made it but it got a main artery and she bled out her last words were “Lock the door! She'll shoot me again!" As the motel's manager called for an ambulance, she identified Saldívar as her shooter and the room where she was staying then said before her final breathe "Yolanda ... 158” she at least was able to tell them her murderers name also there’s a show for Selena but that one talks more about the siblings also Selena and my mom are/would be the same age and another lady was gonna play her but she passed so jlo got it instead
Finally a reaction where they know nothing about her! 😭 loved this reaction! Thankyou for watching it! First time she went to see Yolanda Chris was with her Second time she didn’t tell him so he wasn’t able to go with her and we’ll look what happened 🥲
I saw this movie for the first time in sixth grade. my music teacher introduced me to it. when I read about what happened to her, I refused to watch the death scene until years later.
Even all these years later the ending makes me wanna shed some tears. That scene with the family crying and hugging each other in the hospital is hard to watch. We lost an icon but they lost a daughter, a sister and a wife.
@@dbzgal04 someone will take care of her as soon as she gets out. I'm not the only one who says this. Yolanda should just stay locked up for the rest of her life for her own safety.
Selena’s killer Yolanda is scheduled for parole on 31st March 2025 exactly 30 years to the day she murdered Selena at 23 years of age. Selena was killed 31st march 1995. 😭💔
Selena always sung with her mic that close to her mouth , her mic that has lipstick on it from her very last performance is in her museum owned by her family in Corpus Christi , Tx where Selena was born . Also lol Selena always had curves , never had any surgeries or anything. just an all natural Latina woman 🫶🏽
And after watching this movie when I was a teen, I cried like a baby bc she was very beautiful, hardworking & genius. She was a lot for her great talents & was willing to change anything. Prayers for her family to keep living.❤😢
When you punched the chair, man, I understand your anger! I'd also like to mention, Selena is one of my biggest heroes and inspirations, having motivated and inspired me to pursue my dreams and goals. I served in the US Army for 3 years (2009-2012). As I'm sure you can guess, there were several people who didn't want me to join because they'd worry and didn't want anything to happen, blah blah blah. But then again, you don't have to be in the military for something bad to happen. Selena wasn't in the military, and we all know what happened to her. 😡 She'll always have a meaningful place in my heart. 💖
I used to live in Kingsville, Tx . An hour south of where she was shot. I was twelve, and I was in Corpus Christi the day she was shot. I got allergy shots in Calallen every other Friday, which is between Kingsville and Corpus Christi, and when we got out of the doctors office, we went shopping at Sam's club which was in Corpus Christi. When we were loading the car, we could hear the sirens of all the cop cars. There were a lot speeding to the motel where she was shot. At the moment, we had no clue until the radio station broke the news on the trip back to Kingsville. The following Monday, I got to school, and everybody was crying. They canceled school after second period class. Because they could not teach with everyone so devastated. Selena was such a big influence on a lot of my generation. Especially where I grew up.
I remember the first time i watched this movie. I was 10. My childhood friend had it on vhs and never told me how it ended when we watched it. I literally cried like I lost a best friend and didnt talk to that girl for a WHOLE week because how you not gonna tell me we're gonna end on such a terrible low after having a ball for two hours watching?!? I was CRUSHED, do you hear me?!?
I remember me & my Aunt went to the movies on my Spring Break to see Selena we balled our eyes out at the end. I still cry at the end, J-Lo did her thing in this movie.
You are so real for punching your chair like that and the way you muttered "fuck" when you saw Chris cry, it's truly heartbreaking. Thanks for reacting to this film, Selena's music will forever be iconic especially too mexican-americans like me who grew up listening to her beautiful music!
Selena was one of the first successful female (Mexican) artists there was. That’s also why her sister Suzette didn’t want to play the drums because all while growing up they heard that women couldn’t sing, be successful etc etc.
Fun Fact( not so fun): Yolanda had an unhealthy obsession with Selena, in her apartment she had a room that was basically a shrine of her. She even was stealing her clothes and she’s tried to get her alone to kill her on more than one occasion before actually doing it but Selena wasn’t alone. ALSO another fact….Selena saw the gun that killed her because Yolanda showed her and Selena told her to get rid of it.
@@RagingButtafly23yes, it also happened in real life. Her best friend came to pick up something from Yolanda and saw the room. Her roomate also moved out because of it
@@katrinaholden8183unfortunately Selena never knew, her best friend never told her. But a lot of people have tried warning Selena about Yolanda but she was very naive and trusting and it’s unfortunate it hurt her in the end. And it’s upsetting Yolanda took advantage of that.
@@lilapplxxx4953 Wow....some best friend. You should see the new bs that Yolanda has come out with. She has some new documentary that claimed she and Selena were lovers and that Selena had dark secrets. That lady is seriously delusional and getting seemingly more so in her old age.
Not only was Yolanda downright evil, she was a massive fooI. She was pretty much best friends with one of the biggest upcoming stars in the US and the biggest female Latin star ever at the time. She had it made, and could have had almost anything, and she chose to end Selena's life over greed and jealousy. She is probably one of the most hated people on the planet. People speculate that had Selena lived, she would be one of the greatest musical artists of all time.
The first time you see the end of this movie that stuff HURTS…I started tearing up as soon as she started singing like rs I haven’t watched the ending of this movie in years…great video I’m a new sub and I love your videos keep up the good work man
The place where she was shot the front desk people didn’t respond quick enough. When she got shot she made it the lobby of the motel and collapsed while asking for help.
when his father ask in interview what he could change about selena his father said he could change selena about trusting people she's to much trusting people and think that anyone couldn't hurt her if that change she could be still with us today
The crazy thing is she was the first person that I feel in love to I ever heard when I was 3 my dad was telling all about her he meet her went to all her concerts my dad was about 16/17 when she had passed when I watched the movie I was about 7 and I can NOT watch the movie without crying I was play the movie back to back the were I didn’t want to stop listening to her cs I would cry for weeks💔😪
I will always love how much LOVE Selena gets from Black people. It’s a beautiful thing to us Hispanics. You feel us and we feel you because we know & love Aaliyah and we know exactly what happened to her. And don’t even get me started on Left Eye, 2Pac or Biggie. Much love. 🙏🏽🇲🇽🙏🏽
I was too young to remember her due to being a toddler when she was killed, but I always hear she was a beautiful woman inside and out. She didn’t deserve her fate.
Hi i come from Scotland and i only discovered the real Selena and became a fan of hers after her murder because of this movie. Jennifer Lopez gave her best movie performance in this as Selena. Thanks for reacting to it. RIP Selena Quintanilla Perez the queen of tejano music taken too soon but never forgotten. 😭💔😭💔😭💔😭Shine bright Selena . Take care 😘🏴
Selena was that movie and Selena was that girl she was loved by everyone including black folks cuz anything for Selena’s. Dreaming of you still makes me cry after all these years and I’m only 31
Yesss you finally did the reaction 🫶🏾, I love this movie !! Every time I watch it I cry as if I never seen it 😢 it’s such a sad story…she is truly missed ❤
