I Watched Sing 2 For The FIRST TIME And It Was Wild… 

Find it interesting that Johnny is the only one that has to learn a whole new ability in both movies. In the first movie he had to learn how to play the piano, and in this movie he had to learn how to dance.

I think Calloway and Ash are supposed to be a father-daughter relationship but the idea of this movie canonically including a relationship between a early 20s woman and a 55+ year old rich man is funnier to me.

The cool thing about Gunters play is that even when he couldn't pin anything down, it was because he was trying to give everyone equally important parts. Nobody was left in the trenches, not even Porcha.

I will never get over Halsey's "It Could've Been Me" performance as it is one of my favorite songs, and I truly NEVER get over Johnny getting his bearings and absolutely DESTROYING his mentor in that battle. Just shows he really is a gentle soul at heart but he can (AND WILL) put you in your place if you get out of line. The character development for him is so nice, he really does got a bit of his Dad's anger in him.

2:30 Elephants are unable to jump due to their weight and joints, so you are kinda right about their falldamage, which leads to funny interactions, especially baby elephants rolling down small hills not knowing how to get down otherwise

I remember on tik tok when this first came out everyone was talking about how Meena was a pick me for having stage fright and anxiety. They mad they ain’t poppin off like her. 😌

The sequel was alright, but it just rehashed several plot beats from the original. Buster once again lies to save the show, recruiting an old star in the process, Meena deals with performance anxiety, Johnny stands up to an authority figure, and a selfish person almost ruins the show.

this is such a comfort movie for me, idk I really like the "trying to make it in the city" story

Also fun fact, the song playing after the show was done was an original made by the Lion, Bono and his band U2, "Your song saved my life" was an original and was made specifically for the movie Sing 2.

Ngl I think this is one of my favorite movies from Illumination. Putting aside the writing and overuse of pop songs, I found it enjoyable regardless bc it at least has a lot of heart, fun characters and good execution. Was really fun to see Dazz react to it lol

I loved Sing 2, And Porsha instantly became one of my all time favorite characters! her singing voice was absolutely phenomenal and Halsey did such an outstanding job voicing the character! Porsha definitely had potential, and with a singing voice like hers she'll have a promising future career in musical theatre.

This film is a guilty pleasure for me, and as someone who has watched it about 20 times, I wish they made original music for this film. The first film at least had ONE original, and it was the best song in the movie. Scarlett Johansson has a wonderful singing voice, she made the first movie special. Other than that, the characters in this movie are just really likable? Rosita is one of my favorites from the first. I love seeing her get another arc that isn't just "being a mom." The new cast is strong, Halsey as Porsha was everything, Bono lion is what made me interested in the first place, and I like his whole backstory of him losing his wife. The subtle details like the photos of her in a wheelchair and then cutting to show it still in his closet. It's such a strong visual way to signal him not letting go and very mature for an illumination film. Yes, this is meant for kids, but the people who worked on it really cared about this film, they even took criticism from the first film, adding more animal varieties, because that was a huge complaint from the first.

If romance isnt inter species then why is the bull paired with the elephant in the musical? I imagine it would be a contreversial opinion within universe.

I love this movie, especially the song choices this time around. What I like the most about it is how practical they make the performances look. It's an animated movie, they could make the characters fly randomly and we wouldn't question it. But the lack of cartoon logic in this movie is actually really cool. The stage props look like they were painted by hand, the backdrops are actual backdrops, it feels like a real stage play. Also the best scene in my opinion was Meena's song where she pretended her crush was singing with her. That was such an artistically cool subversion. It's not for everyone, but I personally love this movie more than the first Sing.

Sing 1 and 2 are two of my favorite Illumination films. They have heart in their stories and pick the right type of songs. Just hope, for Sing 3, two particular characters from Sing 1 come back.

In terms Illumination production, i'll go as far out to say that these two Sing movies are way better than the Despicable Me ones. Hearing Reese Witherspoon doing a cover of some popular songs sold me already 😅

A long form content with some heavy editing, a funny guy with good jokes, keep up the great work, so far Im liking the format Also in regards to the Movie Sing, its just a comfort movie for me, objectively, yeah, its not the best, but subjective one of my all time faves, can't tell you how many times I've watched the movie, how the songs and animation just inspires me and how the wonderful ensemble of cast continue to surprise me, the Sing Franchise for me is just overall a delight, hoping for more Sing, Sing 3 is said to be on progress, it being mentioned last year in April, so lets hope Sing 3 will be released on earliest 2025 and the latest around late 2026, probably on Dec if they follow their track record of the Sing Release date, anyways, Sing is just my Favorite Movie overall, with the core message I've been able to take away from is "Dream big Dreams" a great movie for kids to inspire them to be who they want to be, I found Sing when I was lost in life, and it somehow brought back my passion for life, Sing will continue to be somewhat of a guide for me, always there to inspire me with its sound track and overall message, wish I could say more about this Movie but this is all what my dumb brain could say haha, 10/10 will watch again

I love this movie and find it to be one of Illumination’s strongest. I love that it’s left ambiguous as to what happened to Mike, though I’m saddened at the absence of Eddie (I’m happy Nana is back and fills his role, and I have a feeling Eddie ended up getting his life together since he and the short Eddie’s Life Coach hints at this). My favorite of the returning cast is Johnny (and I quite enjoy the arc he ends up going through with the help of Nooshy) and my favorite of the new cast is Porsha, going from a pampered princess yearning for her father’s attention to being humbled (wish there was a scene of her talking with Miss Crawly though…)

The songs for the show were original in universe. It's just the last one that was Callaway's, the crowd sang it because it's a classice IN UNIVERSE. I really liked that touch tbh Ps: also thought 'sky full of stars' was a shit pick for the planet of war. There are songs literally called war and they chose a love song????

I like this new series already. I like seeing you actually laugh at some of the jokes. But I would prefer if you added some more critisms at times than jokes

the main logistical problem with this movie is the timeline: you're telling me you wrote a good script along with several good songs, memorized the lines, mastered the vocal lyrics, had the band master it, learned lights and sound cues and all the tech stuff, mastered the dances, perfected blocking, and finished the set in _three weeks_ it takes my local theater AT LEAST two months to do all that, much less a larger theater doing a much larger more complex show with NO PRESET SCRIPT in LESS THAN A MONTH because mind you, tech week would be in two weeks which is usually when you need the whole script memorized meaning that _this would be actual hell_

I remember watching this movie in the theater with my family on New year’s before 2022. It’s honestly one of my best memories of new year’s as the movie put me and my family in good spirits 🥰! I will always reminisce on that day tbh, and the movie actually didn’t suck it was pretty good. My favorite song from the movie was probably Johnny’s performance. I haven’t heard “sky full of stars” in YEARS at that point so hearing it again was nostalgia for me!

Sing 2 is one of Illumination best sequels with Mr. Wolf as one of Illumination most psychotic villains!

I’ll be honest. I love jukebox musicals. I can see it being negative if the song doesn’t fit, or if there is a song placed in a movie that isn’t a jukebox musical. But like the whole point of this movie is centered around real songs. I can understand that this isn’t a great movie. But I really enjoy these.

And to think they did confirm a third film last year. Here we go again...

Hes only ever been executive producer on 12 projects, 2 if which are Gnomeo and Juliet, and it's sequel Sherlock gnomes. If you haven't seen it, definitely worth putting on the list

my theory as to why these types of movies only ever show same-species relationships is that it calls reproduction into question. parents could draw parallels to same sex relationships and their inability to reproduce and that would be a big no no in a children's movie. "this relationship is unnatural because they can't have a baby together and that's not what god intended" type conversations could be had. the only time i've ever seen this topic addressed with funny animals is the webcomic bittersweet candy bowl, which i don't think was ever even addressed directly, there's just a character who's adopted by an interspecies couple because presumably they're unable to reproduce together

Actually, in Sing 1 you can see an interspecies couple in front of the club, the mouse wants to get into, however, I think they still go down the road, tha you can only reproduce with the same species

Had to double check you'd never made a video about strange magic. Its a jukebox musical. By George Lucas. It's not like its amazing but I do love it, and I appreciate the effort George Lucas went to to construct his soundtrack. Since some of thr songs go all the way back to the 60s they end up feeling like original songs too and most of them have a creative spin on them so nothing was simply copy pasted into the movie

What was WILD, was the editing and vibe of THIS. Almost got through 4 minutes. Mr. Dazzmiser is too much for me.
