What is with movie makers overcorrecting and overreacting? Princess and the Frog isn't as profitable as they wanted? Bye bye 2-D animated movies. Cinderella (2015) live-action remake is successful? Remake ALL the classic movies. Life-inspired stories aren't performing quite as well (mainly due to bad marketing)? No more life-inspired stories. Sequel actually lucks out and makes a ton of money? SEQUELS FOREVER!!!

I really hope Pixar will recover quality wise from here on now....

A Bug's Life most definitely needs a *strong* sequel alongside with Monsters, Inc.!

I actually think Ratatouille could have a sequel that’s like “Ratatouille: Masterchef” where they have to go to a cooking competition internationally and they find out other chefs who are controlled by different cooking animal mini chefs

Okay, crazy idea: Wall.E 2 Hear me out, it could be teaching about how life redevelops and how the robot cast would keep the peace between humans

Finding Marlin is a story that covers the journey Nemo must endure as he desperately tries to find where his dementia-driven father, Marlin, went after he wandered from his retirement home.

There's so many ways this can go wrong The stories could no longer feel personalized or connecting, but in a way it can also broaden the overall story so that everyone can enjoy it, but how broad can you make a movie before it becomes a big plot hole of inconsistency, Inside Out 2 was a great movie I'm sure (I didn't go see it) but I also don't think I've actually been inclined to go see a Disney movie in over 5 years just cause I know what I expect, so to know they'll just make it as basic as possible is kind of concerning I still hope we get the ambition projects like Luca and turning Red, cause those were so beautifully made and simplistic, how did Luca NOT become a show? It had a great premise!

If they ever have Riley as an adult, I'd like to see her become an astronaut and literally go to the moon because Bing Bong said "take her to the moon for me"

Pixar needs a brand new concept before anything else right now, it doesn't matter how good Inside Out 2 was. Seeing a number after a movie title isn't exciting or innovative, and that's what Pixar has to go back to. And unfortunately, I don't think Elio is going to be it. The teasers we've seen so far make me think the story is going to be an inverse of Lilo and Stitch, and the name doesn't help. These bulgy human character designs are ugly too, they all look like they have thyroid problems. I'm not going to be surprised if the main Pixar studio gets shuttered and everything is done under Disney Animation in the future.

Toy Story 5, Incredibles 3, Toy Story 6, onward 2, Toy Story 18, Toy Story 66 and so forth.

Pixar, please just make a Turning Red prequel about the mum getting her panda. It's already the perfect love story with the grandma not approving of the dad while the mums panda is a literal kaiju

I think if they did attempt a Ratatouille sequel, it would have to be a whole new main character. Remy could be the famous figure in the news to inspire them. They hear about how a rat started a 5-star restaurant and go on a journey to get to Remy's restaurant. The story arc could be that they think getting there and getting a chance to cook with Remy will be their success, but the twist is they're not that great a chef, but they have some other skill and passion that was their real motivation. Technically Remy would be in the movie so it's technically a sequel, but it would be more like he's a cameo in someone else's story. Remy would be the Gusteau to them rather than the main focus.

If I were to choose, I think Incredibles three would be a good idea. Here’s what I would do. Like you said before, there’s a time jump, and the kids are older. Violet’s in college and Dash’s in high school, Mr. incredible, elastic-girl, and Frozone, being supers again and making a good living, and Jack-Jack and Edna doing their thing (lol). Premise, it’s almost the end of summer vacation. Violet and Dash are both leaving home (violet may have a career opportunity and Dash would be off to college far or something away), Frozone is retiring for real and Jack Jack is still trying to learn about his powers and that’s why he’s usually with Edna. Leaving most of the super work to Mr. incredible and elastic girl. The theme would be about love and family. Mr. incredible and elastic girl they’re both glad to be supers again. But they’ve gotten so used to fighting crime with Frozone and their children. Both in their individual ways, they would be insecure. As they aren’t fighting crime all together as much, it would reflect how they’re all going their separate ways. Mr. incredible will feel as his family was his “greatest adventure”, he would be scared of losing that and elastic girl, she feels that she is found balance in her life but right after she’s found it, it’s changing again (I know, I need to workshop that one). Anyway, the main antagonist, I’m not sure who it would be, but I think this character should assemble a team of villains creating, the unforgiving (a group in the Incredibles comics), consisting of the underminer, Evelyn Deavor, a rebuild omdroid, and Bomb voyage at least (the main villain could be the underminer or bomb voyage or someone totally new). Whoever the villain is, part of the story should be that they lost who they love, they went there separate ways, but it was on a more negative note and no one was forgiven. Making whoever it is a negative reflection and potentially what Mr. incredible or elastic girl could become. They would fight the unforgiving on their own, but then later, everyone came together to take down all the villains. The lesson being, if you love someone, let them go, but at the same time, family is forever, stronger together, and no matter how far away, they’ll always be there for each other. It still needs to be fleshed out more, but I think that would be a great way to bring the series full circle and wrap it up with a bang. What do you guys think?

With the knowledge of their more mass appeal business model, Pixar has finally found its rightful place in history alongside another equally famous company, Illumination Studios.

I mean come on... If they pushed so hard to get that many ants on-screen in the first Bug's Life, just IMAGINE what they could do after all these years of experience! It would almost definitely look _gorgeous!_

Even if Pixar starts pumping out low effort sequels and mass appeal movies, I will still love them for their golden age films.

Wall-E actually has a pretty well written series of prequel comics

Bugs life 2: invasive species Treated like an homage alien invasion horror flicks, the ants must figure out how to survive when a small population of invasive animals destroys their home and food supply

All we can do is hope Elio does well next year and show Disney and Pixar that there is still a matket for original movies. Elemental came close, but the marketing just didn't do it any favors. Hopefully, they learn from this and market the movie better.

A Bugs Life is my absolute favorite Pixar movie. Probably my favorite animated movie overall. It's so cute and funny and emotional 😭❤

So with Turning Red, the sequel could be about finding another family that has a similar curse/blessing. It could expand to encompass different guardians from different cultures. If anything, the idea could also work as shorts or a series.

if I wanted to do something for ratatouille, I don’t think we need a sequel. What if we did some ratatouille shorts? In the shorts, Remy could show different gourmet recipes from all over the globe and how he would make them. It be like a cartoon cooking show where people could actually use the recipes that Remy is using. So, you don’t have to make a sequel, but you can still use Remi to make something interesting, a Disney+ series. Kind of like the Dug days series.

I had an idea for an Inside Out 2 right after I saw the first one, an idea that could still potentially be used in future instalments: I want one with Anger as the main character. Now that Riley is a teenager, she has anger issues and Anger seems to be doing nothing but get her in trouble. He has to find a way to help Riley without getting her in trouble. Now that precedent has been set for adding new emotions, I have another idea: I want Guilt to be a character. I want a story about the unhealthy ways guilt can manifest and eventually learning how to use guilt productively to atone when Riley has done something wrong. Combining those ideas: I want a story about how anger can sometimes get in the way of feeling guilty. Riley is disciplined for something and feels angry and has to learn the importance of feeling guilt, thinking about her own actions and how to improve instead of feeling angry when disciplined. I am contemplating working these ideas into a fan fiction

Pixar is interested in carrying on the Incredibles franchise. Pete Doctor said so in an interview last month.

Rather then finding nemo or finding marlin, I think a movie about the sea turtles would be cute. Just to see other sea creatures. You could do it and it would be fun. I mean you could do with up 2, but its Russell dealing with Carl's passing and losing his adoptive grandfather, seeing as he did pass recently. You could do a grown/teen Russell and well maybe Dug has puppies somehow? Who knows.

I kinda wish Disney would finally realize that they could’ve made more money off of their more recent Pixar movies like “Soul”, “Luca” and “Turning Red” if they’d just had them all in theaters like actual regular movies instead of setting them all up to fail by putting all three of them on Disney+ first and rereleasing all of them in theaters a whole year later after all the hype of those three particular movies pretty much died down.🙄

A Monsters Inc. 2 would essentially be a Monsters at Work movie Inside out could have infinite movies because if Riley were to have a child after he story is completed then we move to her child and then they have a child and then cycle continues

I'm waiting for them to announce a 4town spin-off for Turning Red. I feel like you just need good music and it'll do well. For Brave maybe a pirate sequel. Have one of the leaders of the neighboring kingdoms have been kidnapped and Meridah's dad goes off to find him or something and Meridah sneaks on the boat.

I would love to see another Monsters Inc movie. Monsters at work Season 2 was surprisingly good.

I truly think Bug's Life has the best Sequel potential. It's so far removed that there are whole generations barely aware of this movie or haven't seen it. And the world is so vast that there are plenty more stories to tell.

Toy Story will keep going so long as the Hanks dynasty exists. His brother already takes over some of his work. Once they're gone the sons will step in. And so and so on. FOREVER.

I think it's fine to tell a very small, personal story but expect a very niche market. Nemo was very light with its inspiration where Turning Red feels like it was a billion-dollar project for one person.

I believe a Bugs Life has (had) a Disney Plus series or something that was named in reference to the Pixar movie, but the DPlus thing has nothing to do with the older movie other than, well, it has bugs. In fact, like Monsters at Work and Buzz Lightyear TV show it wasn't produced at Pixar.

There actually is a Brave sequel in the form of a novel called Bravely. Merida has. a. bet with a god. of destruction, in which she has to "change" each member of her family within a year or they'll be destroyed. Don't know if Pixar would use that plot on a movie or not

As perfect as stand alone these movies are, if I were to choose a sequel is Ratatouille 2, Wall-e 2, Monsters Inc. 2, Brave 2, Luca 2, and Bugs life 2. I love these movies and a sequel could be done right?

Why are people saying Pixar ia back the only reason Inside Out 2 did well is because it was a very good sequel to the original and a story worth telling and inspired by not made for money and now Pixar are putting profit over Art.

I may be the only one, who's go to movie is A Bugs Life. I don't have kids of my own but I showed my nephews and I personally watch it at least once a week, idk why but I love that movie so much, it makes me happy😅

the ultimate question is exactly what directions can they go at this point considering the only directions pixar has at this point is to either go through sequel/prequel/etc hell or continue and try to wing it with making newer franchises which hasn't exactly been going in their favor in recent years. it's very sad and tragic to see pixar want to go that route but with inside out 2 being by far their most successful post covid project and 1 of the very few profitable post covid projects, this will definitely make them feel like this is their only option to continue success unless they want the mouse to continue shuttering the company to oblivion

Pixar,s future really depends on the finically performance of their upcoming film elio, if that movie succeeds we will get more original films in the future, but if it fails we are certainly going to be getting more sequels.

I take the promise of a sequel as a threat from Disney/Pixar. A threat to ruin yet another few of my childhood favorite characters. I have learned to dread the day when Disney/Pixar announces a sequel or remake. As they always seem to not understand the original or the characters.
