Many reliable sources (as in, people we know are close to Taylor) have confirmed that Karlie was very "new phone who dis" after Taylor's public opinion went down in flames and that she only tried to play the besties card during the Rep tour when it was smashing and Taylor was clearly forgiven in the eyes of the public. Taylor felt too awkward when she saw her at her tour to deny her a meeting and a pic since she didnt know Karlie had done anything worse than distancing from her (she didnt know about Karlie and Scooter yet even though it had happened) and thats how that pic came to be
This music video was THE HYPE. I remember how awaited it was. The marketing and publicity for this music video was INSANE. All these posters started popping up with the craziest celebrities on them. It was like a movie was about to come out. I remember sooo clearly how every time a new poster with someone new would pop up and everyone would go crazy because the list just kept growing. I am soooo in awe that I got to be one of the people who experienced the release of this in real time. What an iconic era ❤️

Honestly it makes sense that selena played the "villan" in bad blood because her and Taylor are bestfriends. I would've chosen my closest friend to play the bad guy too because I know they wouldn't get offended by it since our friendship is really strong.
