Geckos are soooo common in Vietnam that we, most of the time, don't really think much about them, they eat mosquitoes, makes squeaking noises, sometimes leave you a present (a wiggling tail) if you scare them hard enough, totally harmless, chill guy.
They are also very common in my country Pakistan specifically in villages, when I went back in 2022 I was so scared of them but later got used to them lol they don’t say anything they just mind their business!

for a lot of viet foods like cha gio (the eggroll/spring roll) and banh xeo (the pancake thing) it's usually eaten wrapped with lettuce and a lot of mints and veggies and dipped into the sauce, haha so that's why they gave you a lot of veg. It's pretty similar to korean ssams

I would definitely try to go to Phu Quoc. Seriously the prettiest beaches and the food was amazing! I went to 4 different cities and that island was my favorite. You’ll have a great time anywhere though! Have fun!!!

The noodles that you got with thin pork slices and crunchy bits on top is called Cao lau. It’s a Hoi An specialty. So good! I didn’t get to spend time in Da Nang, there’s supposed to be the best avocado I’ve cream from a market there.

I'm a Vietnamese in Hanoi and I must say that Da Nang holds a special place in my heart. I've been there like 5 6 times already and i cannot get enough of it :v;. The food is good, accomodation is top tier, people are nice, etc. tbh you can go to any random food stall orr restaurant there and will always receive like godly food lol

One suggestion for people who want to travel to Viet Nam is that you should interact with the local people, I promise you’ll discover a new interesting thing. You just have to come to a specific place which sells beers and has a lot of people then simply ask them if you can join them. Although there might be language barrier but trust me, Vietnamese people know how to deal with it 😂. One fact about Vietnamese people is that if a local Vietnamese, who you meet the first time, invites you for their family meals, don’t be scared or anything, they honestly want you to join their meals.
You need to do a budget vlog showing us how much it cost for one person, so we can get an idea of how much a trip like that cost. So we can go if we wanted.
11:22 Vietnamese here, The dish you ordered is actually "banh cuon," but it's different from the "banh cuon" in Hanoi due to local culture. The ingredients are still the same though, but instead of rolling the rice sheet, they mix it with other ingredients and make it a dish. Btw the name "banh cuon" doesn't refer to the entire dish, it specifically refers to the rolled rice sheets you eat, the other components are just accompaniments that make the dish more flavourful
Growing up i’d actually refer to this dish as “bánh ướt”. Like you said, “bánh cuốn” is the rolled rice sheet, and this version is just like a cousin of “bánh cuốn” without the rolling other ingredients inside the rice sheet

You’re supposed to wrap pieces of the banh xeo in the lettuce and veggies and eat it with the sauce. The noodle bowl with the wide rice noodles is banh cuon which is basically wide rice noodle bowl (similar to vermicelli).

And for the meat that you wonder at 12:23, any type of meat with that texture, we would called it "giò" or "chả", it is typically made with mince meat (pork or beef or might be mince mushroom if you are vegan) mix with flower and good quality fish sauce, then steam it for like a hours with medium to low heat. Your container when steaming would also decide the taste to, we would usually layer a layer of banana leaves before put the meat mixture to the container. Yours in the video must be a giò made by beef.
