I actually said "holyshit" out loud when I saw their Old Elk selection. And then kept saying it the whole show. What a great store. I have that Sagamore Double Oak. Great show!
Just stumbled across this. Can't believe you haven't had a million views after 5 days. For a younger bourbon loving gentleman, you do an amazing job with a gifted voice and great camera work. I was able to see a lot of the prices with the selection. Living near Bardstown Kentucky, some of the prices are a little high (not bad) and some are amazingly low. The Bardstown discovery (red lable) at 120.00 is a great price and should be put in any blended bourbon blind tasting no matter what series it is. Look on side of bottle for series. Also a very big shout out for not swirling or shaking the bourbon in your glass. A true Bourbon Gentleman never abuses the bourbon. Cheers
Great grocery store!! It's been fun watching you grow and learn about bourbon. So many people are surprised about how good Penelopes are. Can't wait for the video when you DO pay the $200 bottles. We never thought we'd do that either but here we are...buying Four Gates, 2XO's and Bardstown Discovery. ha ha ha Cheers!
LOL I knew the store from the thumbnail. Great selection of local meats and whiskey. Jason who orders all the liquor for the store is super knowledgeable and friendly.
I have also heard mixed reviews on the Blue Run, but personally, the Reflection I is one of my favorites. If it was in the 40-50 buck price range, it would be my every day sipper.
Had the Jefferson's Ocean Cask Strength, where a local store in Frederick, MD purchased an entire barrel. Definitely my favorite Jefferson's. Taste was amazing and higher proof addes a very nice treat. $100 a bottle, so not the daily sipper, but would absolutely buy it again.
Great selection. KLUKE is fantastic. I have bathes 3, 5 and 6. Big fan of Belfour Bourbon. I have had the RD ONE Amburana Finished Bourbon and it is very good. It is not as overwhelming as other Amburana finished bourbons, because they use staves, instead of cask finished. Four Gate The Kelvin Collaboration V is worth trying. 🥃
I love Bowman’s!!! I see the small batch a lot and single barrels somewhat often definitely should’ve talked about it though🤣 it’s hard sometimes to catch everything haha.
You were all around some stellar bottles by RY3! They had several of them including the Cigar Blend which in a 4 way blind took second place for me, ahead of Old Elk Cigar Blend and Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend. But their toasted rye is also a banger! I haven’t tried Madeira finished, but heard it’s good as well. Not sure if you are familiar with this brand or not… buts it is one to get to know for sure! Great video! Cheers 🥃
Thank you as always with the detailed messages. You’re a legend! And I am not at all familiar with them because I never see it in my area. But if it beats out some of the heavy hitters I know then I definitely want to check them out!
Click bait!!! 😂 I tuned in to see how much that Eagle Rare was going for at 9:42. But, it was just an afterthought. 😕 Do you know how much they were selling it for? I have never seen so much Eagle Rare together ever. I haven't seen it period around me in over a year. I am thinking it had to be way above MSRP to have that much on hand. Keep up the good work! 👍
It kinda was haha I definitely wanted to use the photo to showcase what that store does get. Especially since it was the day after filming! They charge only MSRP at the store and it’s always first come first serve.
All those Valencia for $67... I'd grab a case. That is one of my favorite finished whiskies but at $90-100 I limited myself to one. Honestly, I think it's better than Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend for a finished whiskey. My Magnus is a very recent batch (like 221) and most people say Magnus really went downhill after like batch 60-90 - would explain why it doesn't match up to the $200+ MSRP they go for now.
My friend, do yourself a favor and skip out on the next 3 bottles you WOULD have purchased, and instead spend that money on the Four Gate. Best bottle of bourbon I ever had was a Four Gate 7-Year. Wild experience for me.
Pinhooks are unique, but each year is a vintage (Flagship and High Proof). Not a huge fan of their 2022 vintage. Their 2021 vintage was quite good and the 2020 was a hammer.
@@Wiskeyer I am proof chaser myself and the 2021 Pinhook High Proof (119.9) is a great buy. I have the 2022 (116.0 proof) and it holds up well too. There are more expensive Pinhooks (Man O'War and such) and I woud anticipate those are also very good, just have not found it in my wallet to buy them yet.
Lets go!!! Liked and shared. 43 here. Just got into the bourbon gig a few months ago loving it so far. Best advice ive gotten is sharing is caring and drink it how you like. Good luck everyone!
Obviously there is going to be a lot of variety on store picks but I have an Angel’s Envy that’s one of the worst bourbons I own. Tastes like a higher proof bourbon mixed with ashes.
Showing you what a store has to offer is not click bait. Same exact store the day after I went and I wanted to show people that they get stuff like that all of the time.
And if you watched ANY of my videos the goal is to showcase small businesses and distilleries. So for a local business to have amazing products like this they deserve to be shown off.
It’s an amazing store and I really hope you get a pick one day it’s so phenomenal. I know a few RU-vidrs do picks for their fans I’d look out for that! It’s a goal of mine to do a pick one day with them!
