I went crabbing on the Lower Potomac with the goal of catching a full bushel of crabs to use in some upcoming crabbing recipes. It started up slow but by the end of crabbing it picked up significantly and I caught exactly what I needed.
I was crabbing the other shoreline from where you were Monday, I saw you out there. My friend and I snagged a packed bushel and caught a couple dozen nice sized perch. What a beautiful river. Thanks for videos
You and Luke are my 2 goto's when ever you post. Getting the commercial side and getting non-commercial. Been wanting to get into this and just recently got a boat, so pretty good time to try it out.
@@Bythewater You put out the greatest videos, whether it be opening up your oysters, trying new accoutrements to go along with the oysters, the different kinds of oysters, catching crabs etc Whatever you do, you do it with such class and ease and pride. You could tell your channel is meant for informational purposes. I greatly appreciate that. Thank you.
@Bythewster looks great! You wouldn’t by chance be trying to catch and sell some would you? I have a party next week and I need a bushel of live crabs by next Friday or early Saturday
How do you avoid other boats snagging your line etc? Pardon my ignorance. Im assuming this isnt "public" access areas but just curiousnhow everyone minds each others crab lines lol
I keep my crabs alive in a 110 ltr live well. To stop them ripping themselves apart I put a heavy rubber band to hold each nipper closed. I like that trot line technique….. organised chaos 😋
@@Bythewateryou gotta get a T joint and a 5in with end cap and 8in piece and attach it where it’ll make your line stay farther away from your boat so it stops going under
Another picking method. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2s3S745m1AA.html Save the encrusted seasoning top shell, reserve the mustard If desired. Occasionally dip a morsel into apple cider vinegar then touch the encrusted seasoning for a blend of flavors. Don't forget to squeeze the bits of meat from the little legs.
