As a Northener, I've also never gone bass fishing. Only ones I went fishing for are arctic greyling, lake trout, cod, and arctic char. Some places the ice gets to about 6 feet in Nunavut. And it's in the minuses (C) from October to early June

I’ve sight fished quite a solid amount of bass at pressure lakes, and the 3 biggest things are: 3.) size of bait, if it’s too big often they will nip the tails only, 2.) texture of bait, the more realistic it feels, the more likely they are to commit to the bait, 1.) the angler, if a pressured fish can see you, often it can completely change their approach to the bait, making it near, if not, fully impossible to get them to commit to the bait

Chartreuse and black are the best colors for summer fishing for me. I’ve nailed some big largies on those colors

Nice videos. Like the way you pointed out that watching videos that show incredible catches are not really common place and promote unrealistic expectations if your not fishing premium lakes. Really 3 and 4 pounders are more common decent size fish than Roland Martin hauling in numerous 8 to 10 pounders in southern Florida. The kid sleeping on the dock is my son. LOL

I fish mostly at night so it's the movement and sound more than the color for me. I usually use jointed rapalas for catfish maybe ten feet off the shoreline or else I use a Gary Yamamoto three inch worm on a drop shot rig along some piers when the sun is up for an hour or so. The most popular color at the bait shop for GY Worms is cinnamon/brown with flakes in it. I use the three inch worms because then I can catch smaller fish also. Every so often I fish with my musky rod and I have a small box of lures from people who are local and make them. I know a guy who is famous and been in many magazines and makes a few wooden lures a year for $200 each but I'm not that serious. As soon as the Canadian musky season starts we don't see him until October at least or whenever it snows up there.

I went fishing for the first time a few days ago and I loved it. I caught a yellow belly, but nothing else.

Senko is usually black and blue green pumpkin on the lizards. Crank baits if it’s clear a bluegill/shad color. If it’s dirty then orange/red. Spinners I like chartreuse. Frogs just need a yellow belly

For right before summer right now for me, I would use a lot of red baits, because it tends to be aggressive and it’s mating season and it tends to work for me

I really love white grub trailers on a beetle spin because that is the only thing the bass in my local river will bite :)

I don’t think that how fancy the bait is really affects the fish because Marling baits caught a fish on a wooden block

My fav bait color is solid hot pink roostertailed spinner. We almost only have rainbow trout so those work really good

The fish don’t care about realism but I do, and as for bait color I personally like watermelon seed for seniors and worms and fire tiger for shad type baits.

Dark and shiny for colors. I think the bass need to be hungry and i think in terms of moving baits, you cant let them see the bait too much and you definitely need that little brother mentality of teasing your older brother.

Green pumpkin works so good for me. I caught a 4 pound bass on the green pumpkin on a Cinco

Yes, actually the fish are looking for baits, in europe, where i fish for pike, the fish follow the bait often before they bait, i would say, they are examining the bait

i like these one worms i forgot what they were but they were orange with green sparkels and they were fire and i caught at least 7 rock bass in like an hour on them
