When he says “im gonna have to talk to the seller about that one” is like when after dad gets the wrong order at a restaurant And says I’m gonna have to talk the waiter about this, and you know this gonna go bad
@@noeffnwaypal LOL, Reminds me of a scene from the movie Bone Tomahawk! Group of Men in a Search Party are devising a strategy to confront some Indians. One man steps forward and insist his plan is the best because he's the smartest man in the group. The Deputy Sheriff exclaims, "How can you make such a statement, the Sheriff is a right smart man too". The guy with the plan looks at everyone and states "I'm the only Man here who has never been married". Silence falls, all men look at the ground and they all agree, Yup, he's the smartest and they go with his strategy! Noeffnwaypal, are smart man are thee!
@@hkguitar1984 cool movie, but it suffered from slow build up syndrome. Half the running time until the cool stuff started to happen, just when your real into it, it's over! My wife and I watched VENOM the other night and it suffered the same syndrome. But part 2 is on it's way so that will be great from the get go. Who cares? Yeah, I know. I type about wierd irrelevant crap.
Seems like there is a happy medium with youtube where a moderate amount of editing is best. Not too much and not too little. Do what you think is best my man.
@@hkguitar1984 That intro with the acoustic guitar is so homely and welcoming....it makes me smile lol and ill often go and pick up by Gibson LP Traditional and poke about the blues. Its like he sells me the incredible appeal of my guitars every day
@@Wayneextremity That is pretty awesome. Sometimes (especially mornings) a little inspiration can pull me through the entire day. Yeah, I agree about the intro, it kind of has the same effect for me also putting a smile on my face. If I could find that intro I'd use it for a ring tone or maybe morning alarm.
That Custom SG is the first SG I've ever seen that I truly desired! I've never liked them for whatever reasons, but this one has touched that special place in my heart! Looking forward to the video on it.
I don’t play guitar but certainly admire those who do, but the channel is soo addictive. The host is so cool about these works of art and then he DIGS into them! Bravo!!
It was surreal seeing my guitar unboxed. I was afraid my packing would be insufficient but it looks like it held up pretty good! Packing blankets are Harbor Freight specials. I pick up a few every time I go there.
head phone guy in the ;70s. My stereo and Guitar blasting back in '73 or 4'. never worried about hp' until a move. Son gave me a great set of Sennheisers. Rockd my stereo feeding a Peavey Vypyr and floor board.....not like an amp, but good. For y/t, Alihen. Well over a year and sound great.
Sennheiser makes a great set of headphones and are top quality. Years ago my Son also purchased me a set that I was able to use exactly 3 times. I made the mistake of leaving them too close to the floor and apparently our Chihuahua thought the foam ear cushions tasted great! They were never the same after than and my repairs too them. Dog was fine too.........
Another brilliant vlog. I LOVE the workshop videos!! Guit #1 is absolutely gorgeous!! Do they make those headphones in Seafoam Green? Guit #2 is reminiscent (in shape) to Rickenbacker solid body models. Too bad it wasn't red all around. It also has a fairly Fender looking Gibson case. It's too bad that Guit #3 was shipped filthy. It looks well built though. Guit #4 I love, because I dig black. The double binding is to die for. Can't wait to hear it. Guit #5? Who took a bite out of it? It reminds me of a rather cheap Rich copy. Kudos on moving the triple pickup SG. I did not see that coming.
Sea Foam Green Headphones, I do like that idea! Lots of nice guitars today. Even the one with the bite taken out of it. I've seen guitars before that almost require a HAZMAT Suite to handle, Ugh.......
Again Austin, thank you for all the hours you put in creating this content we all watch. Maybe you could reference how many miles you've walked to edit the next episode! Try and find a GOTW "Week 9 - Les Paul Supreme Autumn Burst", this guitar is supposed to feature a Figured Ebony fingerboard! TBH, I've never even seen Figured Ebony! Love the Abalone on that SG, wish all my guitars used abalone! If I lived closer to you I would give you a hand with some of the wiring/repairs you have ahead of you. Two years ago I set up a complete guitar repair work bench in my basement office, with as much time as I spend there I too should maybe pull our treadmill in and place it in front of the bench/desk! Also, those heavy moving/packing blankets, they cost about $5 from Harbor Freight, maybe not the best for packing but work well to rest an instrument on when cleaning/working on them. That Super 400 LP Custom, given the year does that have a maple neck? Thanks again, great video.
Yeah, that Super 400 LP Custom is sweet, and I said the same thing about that SG, OMG! I've always wanted to try an ES Les Paul, but I never realized how thick they are! Hopefully he can get it cleaned up and maybe aired-out a bit before the Demo.
@5:38 Boy! The Focal open back model is EXPENSIVE!!!! And the "Spirit Professional" is half the price of these "Listen" ones... Something to think about... I have Shure 440s which are uncomfortable (with out some padding that I added...) and DECEPTIVE when adjusting bass frequencies... And I have the AT M-40 and M-50.... And others The Audio Technica M40 is the most natural monitoring headphone I have.... IMHO
Good point, never even thought of that. Years ago I worked at a place packing up computer boards for shipping and we used the same foam for packing. The machine would mix the chemicals (liquid) and shoot it into the box via a dispenser gun. We had to wrap each computer board in a thermal wrap to protect them from the heat generated as the foam chemical reaction took place when it expands and then cured.
Good idea Beepbeep Lettuce. I'm amazed at how beautiful maple and ash become after going through the roasted process. I watched a couple Warmoth videos about their roasted necks and bodies, a really cool process.
I used to wonder why you cut the boxes like that. But after watching you open a 100 of them I would do it the same exact way. Thanks for sharing love the videos. And those blankets are used on loading trailers a lot I get them in the warehouse all the time
With that many unboxings, I thought that it might be Glarry Glursday. In all seriousness, though, I love the channel and I do love seeing Garrys on here. You have to know what's on the bottom to appreciate what you get paying your way to the top.
So True. That said, I received a Squier Classic 50s Telecaster the other day and am blown away by the quality. A seriously nice guitar for only $350. Even all the frets ends are polished with the fingerboard slightly rolled. A great player that sounds good too. It's my very first Squier as I'd never considered them before being a guitar snob. No more for me, next Fender style guitar I buy will most likely be a Squier.
@@hkguitar1984 I'm not a bit surprised that a $350 Squier is a good guitar. Congratulations on that, BTW. Squier and Epiphones down in the $150 range are even impressive, but seeing a $75 Glarry and finding that it's usable without hours of rework is a boon for beginners and great for children.
@@davek12 Yeah, I am impressed with Trogly's reviews of the Glarry, most especially considering the price. Nowadays it is so very, very different that when I started playing guitar back in the mid 1970s. There just where not many options at all for beginners.
Only now I find out you are into Focal headphones as well? Nice! Almost the same exact story that happened with mine as well. Purchased the Spirit Professionals first, they held up nicely until the metal broke in an obvious weak spot. But I got lucky with the return (full money-back past the usual warranty time) and got the Listen Professionals for about 30€ extra. Sadly they've got the classic issue of soaking earpads that can get pretty grimy over time. Replaced those with 3rd party ones that are bigger than they should but oh well..
One the B-stock headphones: Sweetwater has a lot of really good deals on B-stock and demo gear. I mean a few scratches here and there on a piece of gear that’s literally only going to be used at home or in the studio isn’t really a big deal.
To avoid finger gunk I try to wash my hands before playing. I even keep some hand sanitizer spray in the guitars case. Playing with sweaty hands is usually the source of that black crud that builds up on the fretboard. That’s so gross. Especially when you can scrape it off with a pick.
When you mentioned that you plan to polish two of the guitars I was wondering what methods and materials you use? Do you ever use a buffing wheel? Thanks for your excellent reviews!
If you need good headphones the only companies to go with are sennheiser, audio technica. But for non professional stuff the best is bose. But the senheiser and audio technica are both budget friendly. Check out the ath-m50s from audio technica. Or the hd 555s from sennheiser.
What would it feel like to have all these wonderful guitars so up to your door all in one week? I will never know. Sigh. I'd just be over the moon happy with one!!!!! 😀
Heck of a spree bud!! hehehe Thanks again for the vid man!. Oh, I heard you & Robert Baker are friends, say hi for me, I'm always on his page as well....
Got some studio monitors and a Headrush or line6 helix pedalboad, you won't need a guitar amp anymore. I've sold three tube amps for that setup. Got two Alto frfr speakers, awsome stereo effects.
I've looked at those Line6 Helix, really a great idea. I've never tried one personally but everyone that has one is really happy with them. I just don't know if I could ever sell my tube amps. They took me so long to get, one of them I've had since new back in 1976! Also, so many times I read of someone wishing they hadn't sold this amp or that so I'm wondering, did you sell all your amps or just a few to fund the Helix? How do the Helix Amp models stack up to what the originals sound like? You seem pretty stoked about it, maybe I'll try and check one out soon.
Mike used a Line 6 Helix when he did my demos for a few months. I wasn't really that impressed with it. I've often thought about going the Kemper route though
@@Trog Really good to know. Yeah, the Kemper is another amplifier I've considered. But like you said with the Line 6 Helix, in person can be a totally different experience verses on-line reviews. I've not heard either in person as closest music store that would have one is a 2 hr drive each way.
You must have delivery trucks dropping off guitars everyday? My wife would kill me!! I keep all the guitars I receive, thats my problem. And I own an 85 Explorer XLP!! About time Mr Trogly :-)
