So happy to see your sweet face and hear your voice. Like someone in the chat said y'all are like my virtual family. Hadn't heard a whipporwill here in North Texas in a very long time. I worked in my yard and little garden all day. We have lots of tomatoes on my Cherokee purples. My taters are doing great too! We have lots of cardinals, mockingbirds, bluejays and doves. Thank you for the great visit. Lots of hugs and love from North Texas.

The one main saying that my Mommie always told me was “If you act like a lady, you’ll be treated like a lady! If you don’t, you won’t!! That has stuck with me my whole life and she was right!

Many years ago on a hot and humid August , Indiana night, my Mother in law and I were sitting on the porch swing. trying to find a bit of breeze to cool us off. Her house was surrounded on four sides by corn fields. As we sat there gently swinging back and forth, she said, “ Be still for a minute and you can hear the corn growing.” She said the hot, humid weather is what gave a good corn crop. After that , whenever I was tempted to complain about the heat and humidity, I remembered what my sweet Mother in law had told me, and withheld my complaint.

My motto that I repeat a lot is " dont turn your day over to somebody you dont even like." I enjoyed the video. So glad Granny is doing better. Bless your sweet family.

He helped this sweet tiny elder lady put her groceries in the trunk. She said, well that will be a star in your crown Good Samaritan might I have your name. When he told his name she said oh that’s one of the disciples of Jesus. He replied yes I know my mom named all 8 of her children after his disciples. So special our hearts jump when we recall that from time to time.

When my youngest son was 10 months old ,he got RSV and was flown from the small hospital to Children’s in Birmingham AL ! It was the hardest thing to do , hand my baby over and drive 2 hrs to the hospital not knowing what was to be. He had coded during the flight but he was sitting up when my Dad got to him. My dad just happened to be at UAB visiting someone from his church. He was hungry so the nurses give him a bottle but my dad told them. That boy doesn’t know what a bottle is! I was so relieved that my dad was there! He fully recovered and he is 25! Sorry y’all had To go through that ! But very thankful Granny got the care she needed!

All the prayers bombarding Heaven for her healing are definitely being answered! When my Momma would encounter stuck up people, she used to say they were 'briggity". My Maw Maw used to say, "If she sticks her nose up in the air any higher she's gonna drown come the next rainstorm!" 😆

If you haven't done this you should. I love sitting in the corn patch too. After a rain and when the sun comes back out grab that bucket and go sit at the patch. You can actually hear the corn growing. It sounds something like when you pick husks but on a gentler level. I love doing this and each time I am fascinated. You may actually want to take a chair because when you start hearing it you don't want to leave and sitting on a bucket for while tends to make the hind end sore😂

You are just so genuine. Love you both, but love you most of all( sisterly).

My granny who was raised in the Smokey Mountains was a lady of few words however if she spoke to someone and they didn’t answer she would say “speak ass , mouth wont” 😂

Haven't heard a whip-o-will (whipperwill) in years - used to sit out on my Grandma's porch in the evenings & here them all around calling to each other - would listen to the bobwhites, crickets & tree frogs til bedtime - wonderful memories & times -

Tipper, when you were talking about the song coming on, while you were driving to the hospital where Granny was being flown to, it reminded me of something. My daughter had been diagnosed in 1983, at age "10," with anorexia nervosa. Because it was a relatively new disease, she had to go to 3 hospitals within a ten-month period. During that time period, whenever I thought I couldn't handle any more stress, one of Karen Carpenter's songs would come on the radio. (Karen had died a week earlier from anorexia nervosa.) I could literally feel Karen surrounding me with love. Thank you, Tipper, for reminding me of how we are never alone. Angels surround us and support us all the time. Sending happy thoughts to everyone. (Oh, my daughter is "50," and she is healthy with a successful career.)

I wish I had been able to catch the live video but I'm glad to watch the replay. I'm not sure what wisdom I can share except for the maxim I live my life by as an old lady; "one day at a time". 🙂

My husband and I have seen Del McCoury band a few times and I do love how they interact with the audience and mostly love how they banter back and forth with each other.

Where I live, there is a festival on Memorial Day weekend every year called Delfest. It's very popular. I've never been to it but everybody that goes loves it. Del McCoury performs along with lots of other bands.

I love the Del McCoury band too, and I guess my favorite song they do is “Nashville Cats,” but they’re all good. Also, I love y’all’s music too, and we need to hear more of it. As a bluegrass musician myself, y’all play my favorite kind of music.

I worked with the elderly for 32 years and heard a lot of sayings; my favorite one was by an older lady she told me, her daughter was so stingy she would ride a flea until it fell over and then skin it for it's hide and taller, (tallow)

I've been wondering, and finally looked. When you talk about the weather it's always the same as ours. I'm not that far away from ya'll in Cleveland, TN. My Mom was born and raised in Turtletown, TN. It's finally beautiful out😊

Back I guess 4 or 5 yrs ago now I heard someone say something similar, don't let the negative occupy space in your mind when it could be positive. That's when I quit watching the news and following anyone online that made me feel worse after hearing them. I thought my gosh why didn't I do this sooner?!? I don't have to put any of this in front of my eyeballs or listen to it so why in the world do I keep on doin it? Habit I guess....feeling like I needed to stay informed. I try to keep that in mind now and if I see something that puts me in a mood I make sure I'm not following it and find something that makes me happy instead. It's burying your head in the sand I've heard some say but oh well so be it. If I don't have the power to change it no use in worrying about it 😊

Fontana/Fontana Village holds a special place in my mind, because my wife and I spent our honeymoon in one of the cabins there. When you're back over that way, Yellow Branch Cheeses is just a few miles from Fontana village. Wonderful, local made cheese. Glad the garden is doing ok, ours is behind due to the rain also. You're ahead of me though, since you've got your corn in. 👍. And I agree, listening to the music of the bees in the cirn patch is a beautiful thing.

I had to travel for work and stayed in Blairsville the first of the month. Gorgeous area.. rode all over the surrounding areas and thought of you and your family.. hoped I would happen up on you! I would have been star struck lol So sorry I didn't see you, but wanted you to know you were on my mind the entire time.. while I was living momentarily in your magical world. I went up on Brasstown Bald for the amazing views.. and a bear got into the trash at the cabins where I stayed! How exciting! 🐻 I cut a bouquet of rhododendron blooms for my bedside while there. I didn't want to leave to come back to Alabama. 🌿 🐻 ⛰️ 🌲 🌸
