As a french who don't live in Paris, I must say that most of Paris' shops are very expensive for food that you can have much cheaper ( and tastier) in most of other city in France. Touristics and fancy places are also mainly not worth it compare to normal restaurants :)
Learned a new French verb today! On the wall behind you at 2:48 is a sign that has "Je cotise, tu cotises, nous cotisons," and I'd never learned the verb "cotiser" before...and was keen to know what it means. Turns out, it "cotiser" means "to contribute." Grace, thank you for your content contributions to the vlogging sphere of youtube. ^J^
That shop was closed Monday and Tuesday (Lundi & Mardi). It was open Wednesday (Mercredi). Also, "chez" is pronounced "shay" unless the word following it starts with a vowel then it is "shez" as you said. Great video and Mr Grack has a fab French accent!!
Oooh, you went to Cafe Tortoni! The original Italian coffee shop (outside of Italy), if I remember correctly, established in the 1870s or something. The original owner created a dessert that was named for him, called something like Biscuit Tortoni, which was really popular in the U.S. in the 1920s and had "knockoff"-type recipes published in American cookbooks of the era.
Grace you should 100% go to Copenhagen for the food. Try some of their famous smørrebrød and the pastries. In Copenhagen there is also a street food market near the opera house with some of the best foods. It’s a great city for it!
Nah Copenhagen is very boring when it comes to kitchen. Baked goods taste very fake unless you find a French one. Plus it’s hard to find afordable and good restaurant with traditional Dannish food.
@@Megami87 hmm I don’t know where you went but I am from Copenhagen I lived 23 years of my life there and been everywhere they do have good food yes it’s been now expensive … and even shopping experience but there are affordable prices if you know where you are going :)
You went to some decent shops and a cafe, but I don’t really get it. You didn’t go to any bistrots or restaurants so how is this “the ultimate Paris food tour”?
Just a thought, but you've tested the burger macaron on the next day it was purchased, so maybe that affected its texture and felt hollow? Looking forward to more Mr. Grack content with you! Really love your vids ❤
Good that you didn't go to L'As du Falafel I was born and raised in Paris and my mom is Syrian, it's honestly so overrated and it's not traditional falafel, they're really bitter for some reason. Also for ethical reason I wouldn't go there again since they're appropriating the food of the country they're occupying. Say or think what you want about Palestine and Israel but Falafels are originally from the Levantine culture from Syria, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon. When Zionists invaded Palestine and Syria they stole a huge part of our culture in order to make money. You can get amazing Syrian and Lebanese authentic falafels in Paris ! Thank you, Love your videos ❤
So glad you tried Popelini, I've recommended it in the comments on your tiktok vids a few times, I love them! Le marché des enfants rouges might satisfy your street food market cravings. Profite !
I had a really funny idea its an old thing but why don’t you and your dad do the tin can challenge lol it would be hilarious You get loads of cans and remove all the lables and then have a number on them put all the numbers in a hat or something so its like a raffle sort of thing Obviously theres good cans medium and then bad Bad could be like cat food or something
Grace your channel will always be so wholesome and calming❤❤. So sad i cant try the items you ate in the video since Louisiana is wayy to far from Paris😢😢
@@chlowaring2292 another fan that’s from Louisiana here. Found her in Covid lock down. She’s such an amazing bright spirit 💜. Love how her family is together. Such a great family😊
I find it so funny that you got a "Leckmuschel", it's a really popular candy in Germany, and it basically resembles a v*rgina, which is kinda disturbing because you clearly do not think of it as that when you are a child. Kinda like singing songs about stuff you later unterstand.
Me too. Well for my children anyway. I remember walking in the streets and often seeing the shells just lying around on the pavements and thinking they we real!
Hi grace wanted to ask you if you would think about doing Japanese bento boxes.I no you are a lover of Japanese culture think it would good one to do maybe 5 choices or variety’s . Anyway love love to your beautiful family
I love France and Paris and French food for sure. BUT macaroons look to me sooo sweet that my teeth start hurting just from seeing them. So I'll pass. But creme brulee me any day.
Omg so Mr Grack is French? Is that why you went there with your dad before? British French? Just British with French family? French British? Which oooone is it? Sorry for the speculation. I know you said he’s a private person but this is intriguing. We just care about Grace and now there’s some mystery. Also, I heard his name and now I feel like I know a secret 😮
