Social media needs to stop censoring. How can creators show the truth? We as a society need to be informed of what is really going on. Not what the puppet masters want us to believe. Ty Jeff.
I live on the streets of Denton, Texas. There are 1278 unsheltered people living on the streets in a college city of 140K. We cannot put up a tent in Texas. The heat is so intense. I work a full-time job at night and I cannot afford to even rent a room at $1300 per month. I have no addictions, good work history, and no criminal record. My credit score went to 326 from 805 after a house foreclosure from my wife's cancer and a HER2 brain tumor, These people have a nice setup. This is luxury compared to where I sleep. What a nice setup under a highway overpass and trees. I am a 15 wait list for senior housing but is 15 wait. My personal opinion is better to camp in NC, PA, or NJ where there are trees and hills. Not everyone who is homeless has drug addictions, mental health issues, or criminal record. Circumstance like medical crises can put you on the streets.
the camping is good until it starts getting cold out. Remember we have freezing temperatures here NJ. I could see staying outside right now but give it a few months. When we start salting our sidewalks, Texas sounds way way better.
@@JoeKyser More people died from the heat hypothermia and heat stroke. 945 deaths in Phoenix in 2023. I use to live in NJ. If you layer up and have a propane heater and stay dry in your tent then it is livable. Al;so, cold blue with temperatures below 31 F for two hours then motel room through county social services. The tent encampment at the Neptune Shoprite is my goal to Greyhound it to NYC from Dallas and then the NJ Transit train to Asbury Park. I can dumpster dive3 and panhandle with street performance while working a job.
Andy, I am going to send a prayer for your situation to improve, as soon as I am done writing this comment. May our creator continue to give you strength, wisdom, and discernment to overcome your suffering. I’m not sure if you are still planning on coming to NJ, but I live in Camden county, NJ. I have recently been able to find efficiencies and one bedrooms for roughly $1100 a month. There are also private rentals that you can find either a room or split house through Facebook marketplace or Craigslist. Also, you can get a doctor’s note if you have any health or mental health issues and go to a counties board of social services to get homeless placement. they will initially try to put you in a shelter, but that doctor’s note (for example a medical condition like asthma that requires a nebulizer or diagnosed anxiety disorder.) You can even go to an urgent care or emergency room and tell them you are from out of state and that you were diagnosed and treated in your state. To be completely honest, most people do this just to get into a motel and not have to be in a shared space homeless shelter. It’s not the most ideal, but it is a loophole and it does work. I have even seen people do it when they had absolutely no prior existing medical conditions, but did not want to live in a shelter because there’s a lot of addicts in them and it’s not safe and quite often they steal from you. That will get you into a motel room that they will pay for. You may have to apply for general assistance in order to be eligible, but until you get set up with employment, you would be eligible for general assistance. Then the NJWF (NJ work first program) that is available statewide, they will help you find employment. Typically that resource is available at the unemployment offices throughout the state, even if you don’t go through the board of social services to be eligible for the NjWF program. The unemployment offices often have employment postings in their office and you can meet with one of the employees there and they can try to help you find employment too. They’ll do a small interview on your skill set and availability and tell you all the employers that they have availability for. If none of that pans out, you can always go to a labor ready site and they can find you daily work as well. Obviously none of this is ideal, but I just wanted to share the information in case it could help you in anyway possible? Prayers for you and your situation.
I know Camden and that life all to well . Got out 2012 and have been clean since , but I also know ONE slip and I’m right back there . I pray and have such deep compassion for those still struggling. But if I can get out ANYONE can. As long as there is breath there is hope
This used to be me. Exact same area 2 years ago for too long. Sycamore courts as a zombie just lost. I've been clean for over a year now. Never going back to Camden for anything except to help others get out. Prayers to my friends still out there, lost. With love... Your boy Fathead Phoenix aka Big Joe.
The couple that helps addicts is called , *She has a name * . They are church people and they live on Broadway . They are ex addicts themselves . They help with food, clothing, showers, rehab, etc .
As an x addict ,this is by choice.theres so much help now adays .its there choice there out there .i see people who aren't even addicts that are homeless now ,rent is ridiculous.i went thru hell getting clean but my family never gave up on me and where willing to take me in but its because i never robbed or stole from them .i have empathy but at some point its a matter of choosing drugs or family and i chose family
This is too familiar. Right before I got clean 6yrs ago I started going to Camden. They used to have the purest most potent H and even H/fet mix in tge country. It was open air people from the sets used to yell the stamp they had like an auction. 6th and Pine and 7th and Ramona Gonzalez behind the laundromat were like McDonalds drive through. $1000s of dollars every hour out there like it was legal. CRAZY place! Praying for everyone who's still trapped.
In 1976, i drove over this bridge daily to go to our Camden store. I highly doubt it's still there. Reubens Carpet and Furniture . It was on the left side just over the bridge so i had to turn around on the Camden offramp and get. Back on the express to get to the store . The first time i was there, i got lost . Everyone i asked gave me wrong directions on purpose ..i finally, near dark, found a guy who gave me the proper directions and said " its getting dark so you hurry up now " and i sure did lol
I know first hand of this addiction....I been in for years but luckily I been able to keep a job and apt....I feel for all you ppl.....I'm fighting to quit now....God bless
Thank you, Sachler family (Purdue pharmaceutical company), for being paramount to creating this horrifying degradation. Of course they paid their way out of it.
Also so many people lie about starting off with pharmaceuticals. They think their loved ones would feel bad if they got hooked on drugs if a dr prescribed it rather than the boyfriend or friend . More people these days are lying compared to years ago
Kat is actually a very good friend of mine. I met her about 6 yrs ago. She's such a sweet soul and I pray that she finds a way out of her addiction so she can get back to her life and her children. 🙏
I lived there as well under that overpass for a bit on and off. Died in CMD before. I grew up in Gloucester City. Even though I been clean for 7 months I am going through some stuff and feel lost and I'm stuck at my 61 year old moms who I wasn't raised by and she is smoking crack. Praying for all still on the streets. I hope that you find serenity.
All really nice and nice looking people. I se them all having a chance to get clean n back to a normal life. You gotta fight for it. Nothing ever worth having came easy. It can and has been done. Jeff is prime example.
Nirvana Shirt guy…. Get out of this now! You aren’t lost yet but you will be. You still look good, speak well, this will fade sooooo fast. Dude wake up! Come on!!! U can do it
I did heroin back in 1995 -2009. It took a stroke to get me off of that shit. I gave away years of my life to heroin and crack... my band that I was in gave up on me, I'm sure many knew how it feels to lose. Now, at 48, I finally got my own apartment. Been clean since 2009, pretty much; ya start seeing your loved ones trust and love again. Tranq took over a hundred friends from me. Don't give up, people!!!
Addicts are not losers. They cope. Everybody comes some way. Love is the way. I'm a school bus driver and I see children every single day in situations they can not control bc of the house they live in. I know for a fact if they had access they would use it. Love and understanding and support is the answer. We are not to judge we should be compelled to raise them up. Everybody hits rock bottom I don't care who you are. I waited tables in a bar full of rich kids who shot up in the bathroom. They had it all aka money. Money don't mean shit. Love and compassion and innerstanding is the way. Let's do our part. If you see someone having a bad day, make it better. When my kids are down I do my best to lift them up every time. I stay on it too. I don't give up on them. Mad love to y'all and don't ever think for one second we ain't thinking of y'all.
I live in marlton New Jersey, like 15 minutes from where you’re at. Camden not even as bad as it used to be believe it or not. Fun fact, when I was a kid we used to go shopping in Camden. It’s all the department stores were. It was like kind of like the city without going to Philly shows you what can happen in the lifetime?
Great work Jeff. I wish the 3 tent folks were mike'd. I couldn't hear them very well when u were down by their tents. So wild to see what a "calm environment" compared to the ave.
Knowledge love and peace to all these people the force that's playing on this planet doesn't care about color one thing about death it's not a racist the people on this planet only have a little bit of time we don't put this color stuff behind us and come together as a people and love each other we're all going to die😢
I remember Tent City....as soon as you'd jump off the exit to go into Camden you could smell the stench from up on the rd. Tent City was enormous, you'd look down & you'd see a sea of blue from the top of the tents & make shift tents. Cops cleared it out!!! It took them a while to do it, but once they did, it looks & smells so much better. I'm about 25 mins away from Camden, in Cumberland Co.
I died on Mt Ephraim ave in the cemetery they shot me up with narcan I pray we all make it out I knew a guy named bill he lived in tent somewhere there
I hate this bridge. I had to travel it to go visit someone at the Cooper Hospital right there, and I hate Camden, NJ, and Philly, PA because of all the homeless addicts.
good video , hope u and some of those jersey people become good friends , and who knows , u may help one or more get clean because of your good example .
Fast forward to about the 18:00 minute mark to save all the boring stuff of him driving around mumbling to himself trying to find her. There is no scenery to see I'm the area of Camdem he's in. It's a boring 18 minutes so it's up to you just a heads up 👍
I pray for your safety to get back home dear. Stay safe out there and that bridge is keeping me in awe if I’m getting off on a tangent. I wish we could keep it that way without any addiction of any sort

Even with the volume up, you can barely hear you and then that thing rattling on your car or truck.

What are you talking about camden isn't clean its one of the most dirtiest cities in NJ if not the worst not every city is gonna be as dumpy as kensington
@kristinalaforte7820 hey I'm not arguing anymore I was just simply saying my opinion I'm from camden trust me I know my own city plus you obviously don't watch news or keep up with anything kensington is changing alot mayor Parker is doing outstanding job lowest murder rate since 2010 that's all I gotta say philly seems worse because it's 20x bigger then camden
Mexican black white Chinese Puerto Rican. We are all going to continue to fight the same demons at the end of the day. All the way up till we get to the graveyard🙏👌
At around 17 min that area, Washington St, I believe, seemed nice. The blocks had well kept homes. Stark contrast to the empty blocks & desolation. Where do people, the working people, the families get groceries, etc?
It's cause it's closer to the hospitals and stuff older people live there etc. Groceries they have cousins in the city or Walmart right down the highway... there's another in Parkside don't know the name and a meat place out polock. Plenty of places actually.
Im sending prayers to all of you but what i dont understand is why dont you group up and get a house put your funds togeather live togeather it may be affordable that way.
Race riots in the 60’s burned down a lot of Camden. All the businesses closed up shop and left over the years, especially once the crime and drugs skyrocketed. It’s one of the most miserable places in the country.
@@joesuplicky3297the xylazine added to the fentanyl in Kensington. Xyalazine is an C animal tranquilizer, so the name tranq sort of stuck. It sounds like they may be adding xylazine if she’s getting sores and testing positive for xylazine.
Camden is where I lost my soul at Jeff 10 years ago Camden North Camden and heroin was booming I started getting high in 08 and even though there both about 15 minutes apart Camden was a small Kensington this is clean and tame now they pushed all the drugs over into East Camden and Cooper has bought back most of downtown or trying to my old boss family made a lot of money from there family homes from Cooper buying them out man I wish I could take you to some spots because north Camden was a fuckin warzone the state boys were out on the blocks and it was cat mouse all day of course im talking the real heroin days not this fake bullshit now there pushing not even close man go down by the new methadone clinic you'll see all the addicts roaming around shooting up and shit but crazy to see how much better it is now the old tent city bybnorth that was some shit but they cut it all down rite as soon as you were getting off 676 by admiral wilson was huge huge huge but city cut all the over grown shit and made em all move lol enoufh my ranting good to see cmd finallyngetting some spot light
