Hey everyone! Many of you were asking for me to visit BGC, so here we are! I hope you enjoy the video 😊 We had an absolutely amazing time there and will definitely be back in the future to explore it even more. Looking forward to seeing all of your amazing comments, I will be replying to as many as I can. Much love! 💖
Love how you interact with the locals and trying your best to speak the language. Doing a great job for someone's who's just started blogging. Keep it up mate.
5:25 Benguet is where Baguio City is which is a mountain city founded by the Americans. Its cold there with so many tourist attractions. It was declared as a UNESCO creative city. From there you can aldo visit Banaue or Batad where the Rice Terraces is to be found. Its a UNESCO world heritage site too and not far is Sagada where you'll see hanging coffins and some Philippine mummies. In that region you'll find Apo Wang-od and she's a tribeswoman. She's the oldest tattoo artist in the Philippines. She was even featured in Vogue Magazines.
I enjoyed every minute of your vlog. I live just about 5 kms from BGC but I haven't really "immersed" myself in BGC in the way that you (Josh + Tom) just did! Two thumbs up! 👍👍👌👏
Hi from Indiana, Philippine born but moved to US since 1978. I’m glad you’re having a great time there. Safety pleasure and convenience are the hallmark of life in the PI if you know where to spend it and you have adequate financial means to support yourself. I was born and raised until after college in Iloilo, Panay, one of the Bisayan Islands. If you want to avoid the rat race kind of life in Manila Iloilo City is another place to explore. They have international airport there. Stay at the Smallville area. Their BCG wannabe there. You’re living the life, friend.
It’s vital for vloggers to be a people person, you truly knows how to interact with the locals, you guys have good manners and courteous. You’ll be at 10K in no time, keep it on. Watching from San Francisco, California
Equally vital is for vloggers to correctly name their location. BGC is not in Manila. It's in Taguig -- an entirely separate city and different from Manila.
That strawberry shake looks refreshing. This is what I like about Vloggers: You guys are open to anything fun with Filipinos. We will keep supporting you guys.
Josh, looks like you and Connor had a good morning workout there in BGC! 😊 It is the most modern part of Metro Manila, and is quite high-end. BGC High Street becomes much busier in the late afternoons and evenings, when its cooler. Enjoy your tours!
We sure did! 😂 I will have to go check it out in the evening in my spare time because my camera doesn't work well in the dark 😞 Thanks for the support!
Hello Josh 😇! We appreciate you visiting the Philippines 👍! Welcome! I hope this little advice makes sense .. as a retired filipino here in the Philippines who lived and worked for 35 years in Texas, USA, i highly recommend hanging out in safe and secured places like BGC, Makati, Ayala, Mckinley Hill, Eastwood and other safe and secured places 😇! Just be aware of the places you go to and a liitle bit of research helps 🎄! I know you're eager to document cool sights here in the Philippines 👍! As much as possible, avoid run down areas. Just like if i go back to USA and let's say i visit The Bronx, Harlem or Compton and Skid Row in California .. i might get robbed, carjacked or shot. So to be safe, i'll go to safe and secured places in the united states 👍! Enjoy your time in the Philippines!
Thanks for the amazing comment and advice peter! I will be safe but I dont like to discriminate on areas, I like to go there and make a decision for myself. I have been to quite a few "run down" areas in Philippines now and I have to say the people have been more friendly, welcoming and I have generally just had the best time there. But I understand what you are saying! I am not new to travelling so I like to think I have pretty good street smarts and don't push the limits too much. Hope you enjoy the videos!
lol Philippines is relatively safe now. Mostly all the comments about philipines being unsafe are people reminiscin of how bad it used to be. but duterte changed all that and cleaned up the place. of course you'll get people sayin it's bad, but no where close to places like the ghettos ijn the US or places in South América. but of course just be aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine. don't let someone rememberin how it used to be tell you how it's like. There's also places in the south where the separatists are, so yea, if you looking for trouble, you could find them there :D
This is one thing I like about your videos coz you know how to interact with the locals and your very friendly and honest of your opinion about anything you had just tried or taste. And your learning tagalog so fast good job ❤❤❤
Actually i been to some world cities and i can say that BGC looks very similar to brickell of Miami and marina Bay, Singapore. very clean, organized, well planned and modern.
Trivia: BGC is not a real city though... it's just a business district with a fancy name. This means BGC is not part of PHL government. They do not elect their own mayor. They can't impose taxes. They don't have police nor judicial powers etc. BGC is in Taguig City (or simply "Taguig"). It is NOT in Manila as this vlogger says.
@@mocabe01They're not wrong. Manila proper is the capital, while Taguig is within Metro Manila which is the capital region. It's the same when people say London, Tokyo, Bangkok, Paris etc, all of the other cities/districts are considered to be a part of the capital region.
@@mocabe01 Manila is Metro Manila and Metro Manila is Manila... for foreigners, let them be. Ung taga vismin nga ang tawag sa taga Luzon eh taga Maynila eh. walang Pilipinong nasasabi na luluwas ako ng Metro Manila kundi luluwas ako ng Maynila, kesehodang sa Malabon pa sya pupunta. The Vlogger is technically correct. wag kang eme.
@@dayangmarikit6860 No. Metro Manila is a region. Manila is just a city -- a SMALL city comprising only 4% of the NCR. Don't lump the rest of the 96% with that one city. They're different and separate identities.
Fair play to joining the workout in that heat and humidity!! That would have finished me 😂 deffo needed a cold drink after that one 🥤 Keep them coming bro I’m loving these vids!
Wonderful bgc exploration there Josh! You will be more surprised what PH malls have inside for you! Can't wait for your beach vlogs soon! Oh btw, your new channel has ads already and grown so very fast! More power!👌💪🇵🇭🇬🇧
KUMUSTA KA is for one person. KUMUSTA KA NA? (Very friendly approach). KUMUSTA KAYO for 2 and more. Better add "PO" (usually) at the end, as a sign of respect. KUMUSTA KA PO? KUMUSTA PO KAYO? SALAMAT (Thank You). SALAMAT PO (Thank You - Respectable). MARAMING SALAMAT PO (Thank You Very Much)
Mate, Mabuhay is a word we tell foreigners to use, but it actually just gives you away.. it kinda flags you as a non-native speaker. We only use it when greeting foreigners in international contests and such. To sound that you’ve been here long…don’t use it for greeting people, just say kumusta?
I'd say that some of the most authentic Japanese food in the Philippines are from (Marugame Udon) and (Botejyu). It would be great to see how they compare to Japanese food in Japan.
You may skip the city and try visiting the North part of Luzon like La Union Beach in San Fernando La Union and the culinary capital of the Philippines which is Pampanga. Clark City is where you will find stuff like those in BGC as well. And the mountain city like Baguio City all the way to Sagada to see the famous Rice Terraces. Since you are in BGC already don't miss to visit the American Cemetery to pay tribute to the American Veterans of WW2 and the nearby Venice Canal Mall at McKinley Hill. Also Okada Manila is a must place to visit in Manila near to this place is the MOA and the new Parqal Mall.
Yaz Blackpink! ❤ Only 1 is Thai the 3 girls are Koreans. There aren’t a lot of people coz it’s hot, a lot of filipinos don’t like to stay under the sun.
Thank you for filming my lovely county I prepare you to travel in Baguio benguet , there so many fresh strawberries and cool place to many fresh vegetables there to
Nice vlog Josh. It’s so thoughtful of you to not always get your change. But you can always ask for change because Im not sure if the waiters will get it.
Hi josh😊❤ been watching all your videos here in our country 🇵🇭 especially your tour in Bohol, i really enjoyed watching it. Thanks for visiting Philippines❤❤ more videos pls😊🥰 i wish i could meet you somewhere here in Manila and have picture with you😊❤

Hi josh, your video in bgc looks months ago because bgc now looks way better and the spirit of christmas is all over bgc/philippines. I hope you visit again this christmas time.
Yeah it was a few months ago, editing takes a long time which I don't have much of with all the filming and working 😅 I will be back in PH early next year, its hard not to spend Christmas with my family

One thing you should know is filipinos dont go out that much in the morning and noon for certain reasons 1.) it’s too hot 2.) they dont want to get too much sun because they will get tan, 3.) because of reasons 1 & 2 and if it’s weekend, they are mostly all sleeping or inside the malls. And if it’s weekday, they are working or at school, that’s why you dont see much people outside lol. Go back there in the afternoon or evening, and that place will be very crowded. Anywhere you go in the philippines, filipinos just hates being outside in the morning until noon because it’s too hot and humid, you will mostly see them inside the malls hence why mall culture is huge in the philippines.

You very good demeanor will certainly help you gain more subscribers. Vloggers like you contribute to the effort of the government to attract more tourists. Have fun while in the Philippines.
Hey Josh…. If you need medicine, you can get some at Mercury Drug. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need to. Filipinos are happy when they can help. I have not been in BGC and the little Venice there but been to Venice, Italy. Thank you so much for taking us there. Salamat Kuya Josh! - ❤ from 🇺🇸
105 pesos for a donut?! That's insane!!! I would still love Dunkin for sure. By the way, Misukoshi Mall in BGC is also something you must visit if you love Japanese Brands.
Thank you Josh for visiting BGC and giving a very good vlog. But a point of correction. BGC was never a US Military Base. It was a Philippine Military base called Fort Bonifacio where the Philippine Army, Marines and Navy where stationed. At the other side of the road if Villamor Airbase formerly Nichols Airbase of the Philippine Airforce.
I’m a new subscriber to your channel, thank you so much for visit my home land PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 hope you have wonderful vacation … Salamat po Sir ❤️🇵🇭❤️🇵🇭❤️🇵🇭 ITS MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭
Hi Josh, we appreciate you speaking Tagalog words. Just a little tip, you could add the "po" in every word or phrase that you say to make it more polite and respectful. e.g. "salamat po", "masarap po", "good morning po" "kumusta po" or kumusta ka po" Hope this helps.😊 Enjoy tour stay.💙
Hi, Journey of Josh! I love your contents and we both enjoyed it with my partner. However, there are some people who can't easily understand your slang words when you pronounce your channel name. As such, we would highly suggest you to have your t-shirt printed with your channel name on it. That way, people can easily remember and subscribe to it. Good luck, Journey of Josh and enjoy your stay here in the Philippines!
