Beginners mode but good for a warm up, i can actually see some merit in such a robot - however - it is missing 1 vital thing that stops it from being on a harder mode of difficulty, a downward slam to the front of the court, this allows for shorter, more impactful shots (or a way to counter it, because anyone can see that's all you need to do to win against it everytime), but like i say, for kids or adults just looking for a warm up or just to have fun, yeah, its not bad.

This robot was introduced back in 2015 for the ABU Robocon competition in Indonesia for Team China, I was there and it was by far the most imrpessive thing I've ever seen. No one wanted to be in their pool because they seemed unstoppable but then on game day it glitched 😂😂😂 I think Pakistan beat them and they lost all their pool games. Shit that was like 5 years ago ... time flew

I'm curious about how the robot moves, Linus said it's propelled by threads but how does it move diagonally without turning the whole thing? I'm imagining that while the outer chassis is static the treads are mounted on a rotating turret, but maybe there's other methods?

Xavier Rodrigues Sadly, it is thought of as being cheap, low quality, uncivilized, communist, highly restrictive, exact opposite of most "civilized western countries", etc. by many people... So anything with China is often a big, engaging title because of how different and exotic it is considered... This applies to basically all of Asia though to be honest, and it can be very frustrating for the citizens and people of that culture, however many Chinese citizens are also very proud of their country, so this is also good for them, because it showcases how great their country is.

That's the difference between a Chinese research institution and say MIT. MIT work on multi million dollar projects that trickle down to consumers in a decade, the Chinese want something that can be sold NOW. I mean try to forget that for $65,000 you can pay for three badminton lessons a week for 10 years, it's still super cool and I want one.
