I don't think whiff punishing is about about possessing extreme reflexes. I think it's about feeling your opponent's rhythm.

whiff punishing is not only reaction. He knows his ranges very well and which normals puts him in a possible whiff punish range. He focuses for a normal to whiff in these situations. If you practice this alot you can do it too.

Every human are more or less the same reaction time, around 1 second... there are no superhumans or magic recipe, it's just what it is for pretty much everybody. Reacting in a fight, including in a virtual fight is like 75% anticipation, that's why guard exist, because nobody can stop a point blank punch with his arms down... so you have to put your arms where they hinder your opponent, so he must get around them, giving you time to react. It's pretty much the same in SF, you know your opponent's character, you have a good idea of his best (if not only) options at each range, so you know what to expect, and how to punish it. + Punk tend to plays strong whiff punishig characters, like Karin or Cammy, because they have very fast strong and medium buttons, that can lead to damaging combos... he couldn't play the same way with E. Honda or Ryu.

@@deuserwan5786 yep, i use ASD(move) + Space(jump) > W(d.Impact) > r.ctrl(d.rush/parry) > Insert/home/PageUp(punch) + Del/End/PageDown(kick) + Backspace/slash aka \ (x3 punch/kick) and u still have around a buttons for bind ALL other moves xD

If you've noticed the japanese players try a lot more.perfect parries than any other region , once again they are ahead of the curve . I think perfect parry needs a buff tho , 50% as a start scaling is bit too much , maybe reduce it to 40 and let's see how it goes . I think when it becomes more powerful the whole game would revolve around it , right now it's mostly disruption/setup based , no real dmg unless you bust out a lvl 3 which would be 50% scaled .
