We met an amazing mother who we think should be helped to make a business and anyone willing to help kindly reach out to me at +256708739684 #ugconnect #UgconnectInKENYA #PipelineNairobi #PipelineNairobiNews

@1.24, Please stop. Kiswahili is a Bantu language! 0ver 80 percent is Bantu. Let's stop making it sound like it is not. The Persian, Arabic, German, English influences only account for a small percentage with Arabic accounting for the most of that small percentage due o trade on the Indian Ocean. If you speak to the Kenyan Coastal Bantus-the Miji Kendas e.g. Digo, Giriama, etc, you will understand why it is Bantu. It is those Kenyan Coastal Bantus who intermarried with the traders at the Coast and birthed the Kiswahili language, which ws HEAVILY INFLUENCED by those KENYAN BANTUS..not the other way round. Lamu, Kenya is the first Swahili settlement on the Indian Ocean Coast line, contra to what people assume that Kiswahili was born in TZ.
@ugconnect
@ugconnect Год назад
Thanks for the info
@beyawamwenyee
@beyawamwenyee Год назад
@ES EM, point of correction, the Swahili people and language existed even before the coming of any foreigners including the Persians, Arabs or Chinese. Swahili is an independent language from the mijikenda, mijikenda are mijikenda and swahili are Swahili, what brings them together is that they are both coastal communities and secondly they are Bantus. The same way English borrowed Swahili words and vice versa is the same way Arabic and swahili shared some words but Arabic adopted more Swahili words than the other way round. Even today the Swahili are distinct from the mijikenda but their languages are 90% interconnected. The traditional swahili speakers before the coming of Arabs are the wangozi occupying northern lamu, we have the Amu people, wavumba, wachifundi, wamvita among others. So intermarriage never gave birth to swahili but largely influenced the cultural aspects especially religion. But majority of the Swahili in coast are pure Africans. With around 20% made of mixed race.
