So basically, you're the only actually qualified fragrance reviewer on RU-vid! I found your reviews very professional, informative, and among the best on all of RU-vid before learning of your qualifications, and now after learning of them, you are a fragrance Queen!

YES !!!! A behind the scene video would be great!! Also, you mentioned that a lot of perfume houses uses similar olfactory structures to build their fragrances, with little differences to make them stand out in the market. It would be amazing to know which types of perfumes archetypes are the best sellers vs the ones that are more experimental.

yes, do a part two please. This is an amazing video, fascinating. when i was a child i dreamed i could create perfumes, as i am pretty obsessed for all my life with scent and taste. I almost had a deja vu listening to you :) i became a doctor, also a science and art, but if i would chose a second career, this will be it! I have no idea even if you have to have a special talent, all i know is that i remember scents if i had ever smelled them and record in memory effortlessly and somehow i seem to know what goes with what instantly. Kind of fascinated by this process. I probably know more than i need to know about it, studies a little effects of aromatherapy on human behavior, memory, perception as such. I found your presentation priceless, i can tell you do what you love, your body and face expression as we'll as your voice tells a story, as much as a perfume does. You made my day!

Thank you Josephine for pointing out that longevity and "beast mode" don't necessarily mean quality. Same thing for naturals vs synthetics. Synthetic ingredients are needed to create some accords because some notes just can't be created naturally. I think about all the "mute" flowers for example. 😉 Thank you for answering my questions 😊

Interesting fact is that smell is lut primal and oldest sense about 2% of whole human genome (about 30k which we know), and this is biggest family in the genome. This only proves how important smell is. It also has the direct connection (just to simplify) to our brain. Smell also carries strongest emotional load and memory. It is easier to bring up a memory by one smell that it is to bring smell by seeing or listening something. This is why aromatheraphy can really work and I was really interested with it.

I visited a lovely local shop working with scents (mostly soaps and bath oils and candles) and started to chat with the lovely owner when I saw one scent described as oud. I would love to know more about the fragrance houses; IFF is the only one in the US I've heard of, and they have this whole air of secrecy around them. Also, it would be wonderful to know about the basic fragrance profiles you mentioned that make so many smell the same, along with some discussion of the related commercial scents based on them. It's frustrating that CoVid has made it harder to go explore your recommendations around here.

Can you do an "olfactive path" to follow for each note? For istance, to better understand the note of oud, the path to follow is: Mancera Aoud Vanille, Tom Ford Oud Wood, ... , Amouage Interlude, ... , Guerlain Les Absolute Oud, and so on. I mean, a path to approach some type of note or accord, like the amber accord, the incense and so on 😉
