I got to go out to SE Arizona and spend a few days camping and riding with John Klump, Benny Griffen and Tyler Klump. Cooking on the fire and riding the mountains on some good horses with good company.. don't get much better .. Real Cowboys
Thanks so much for coming along on the journey with me! It just wouldn’t be the same without you!
Below are some links to sponsors and companies who have helped out the channel.
I personally have had great experiences with the products, the companies, and the people and would recommend any of these companies or products below:
OnX Maps
Guys, I’ve been using OnX Maps to plan my adventures for a long time and I’ve had a great experience every time.
OnX Maps is the perfect resource for Hunting maps, Offroad Maps, and Backcountry hiking and skiing maps.
It even shows you what’s public land and what’s private land.
Grab yourself a subscription to OnX Maps and use code “100Years” during checkout for a 20% discount!

Old South Dog Boxes
These guys build the best dog boxes I’ve seen!
I was looking around for a company that made dog boxes that would fit in my Side by Side and couldn’t find anything.
I got in touch with Old South Dog Boxes and they are able to make custom builds!
They are building me a dog box that will fit exactly what I need.
They make a diverse range of dog boxes, dog trailers, and bird rigs for bird hunters.
Check them out and let them know that Brett from Born 100 Years Too Late sent you!

Skito Saddle Pads
I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.
Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.
__________________________________________________________
Ellis Canvas Tents
I reached out to Ellis Canvas Tents because I was just not too happy with my sleep system. I had seen their products before and was really impressed with the "Cowboy Bedroll". They sent me one to try and can say that so far it is the best I have used for Cowboy Camping.
Soon I hope I can get one of their Canvas Tents

Mountain Ridge Gear
I have been using Mountain Ridge Gear for many years now. From their Saddle Bags, Horn Bags and all the accessories I haven't found anything yet that is as well thought out and functional as their gear. Now I have a pair of their pack panniers and love them

When I was still driving a big truck, before I was forcefully retired, that was my favorite place to drive. I used to get yelled at for stopping along the border for the night. I didn’t care. Nothing like waking up to the desert in the morning. You know what they say about being young and dumb. I drove through and stopped wherever I wanted, for a meal or to sleep. I think I felt closer to God, and nature there.

I used to hang out at the Taylor ranch and Geronimo trail. My friend was the caretaker there before Monk Maxwell bought it...Monk Maxwell is an old time well known cowboy written up in Western magazines. Lottsa history around there all the way to Cloverdale and the Gray Ranch. I'm a history nut and did a lot of exploring in Cochise county. Used to be a schoolhouse in Cottonwood. John Slaughters old ranch is a short distance down the trail, he was sheriff of Tombstone and fought outlaws and Apache...I could go on and on..lol

Harry Knight the rodeo stock contractor , rancher and half owner of the FLYIN' A in fowler ,Co had slaughters ranch leased in the late 40's , Knights youngest son Bill told me about being a boy there , how thick the walls were and the bullet holes. RU-vid is wild. I just watched The Cowboys and this channel pops up. Thanks RU-vid, also love the Cowboys movie . That ole Bay horse John was riding has a hell of a good disposition. Got that ole head dropped and level and just a good riding horse. This country would’ve been good for the mules to be honest. Surprised them horses didn’t get a stone bruise on all those rocks. That truly is “No country for old men”

Thanks for the great video! It was good to see John again. Last time I saw him was about 50 years ago. I grew up in Bowie, ( I was a Townie). John was one grade ahead of me in school.. Was surprised to hear Wally is still alive, he has to be quite aged by now. Wally's wife, Charlene, was a saint. We used to see them in Church on Sundays. I didn't hear John say anything about Wayne, I always thought he was a brother to Wally but I may be wrong. The Klumps were very clannish at that time, generally kept to themselves. We'd hunt and hike all thru those mountains as kids, but we knew never to go on Klumps land, even though we grew up together in school. There are a few stories to tell about them days... Currently, I'm just a few miles north of the area you went to. A few times a month my dog and I hike the deserts around our community. I like to be aware of what's going on around me. I have found hides and stashes for illegals travelling thru. It's been that way for years, but has gotten more prevalent. I believe we are seeing a more dangerous crowd nowadays also.

Great video. I agree that it was just not long enough. I thought that you were hunting with Teddy Roosevelt but it was Benny. I would like to sit around a campfire and listen to the stories from you and your guests. Like Mr Benny and Mr Otis the old school guys.

Looks like you had a good time , buddy. I’ve known John for years. Sold him and his family thousands of gallons of fuel. His Uncle Wallace bought my late wife’s family’s ranch out , over 30 years ago. Miss the Pellincios, cowboyed all over em.

That's awesome ... yeah if it wasn't for the drug traffickers I would sure spend more time down there .. Thanks

They got bad about 2006. Slowed them down for awhile ,now they’re Bach at it. It’s going to take getting tough with em. The human trafficking is what the real problem is.

Thanks for sharing your trip. I bet he could tell a lot of good stories. On my trip year before last I ran into two cartel mules with AKs. Luckily I'm still here. That was east of Douglas Arizona. Beautiful country out there, but dangerous these days.

Glad I came across your channel. I live in the mountains of NE AZ. I love the desert and riding a good horse out like this. That's some rough eatin'! Got stuck cooking like that a time or two. I'll be looking for your interview with John and Kim. I always enjoy hearing their stories and what they have to say about the state of affairs over the illegals. Scary times for the ranchers on the border.
