Yup. Let the strike continue @ least for another 5 years. Hopefully, by that time AI can permanently retire them. Nothing will be lost. It must suck that the people you most NEED to support you, are the same people that want you gone also.

SAG is a complex union. What they DO NOT DO... which most labor unions, if not all in the USA do is to aid their members in procuring work. SAG does not do this. They never have. They collect dues from over 160k Members when only 1% work in this respective field. They do not regulate casting directors either or make introductions of current members to employers including producers, directors, casting directors, or studios. This is the main concern. It always has been among all my contemporaries. SAG is fighting over AI which will mostly impact celebrities but what they should be fighting for is representation and job placement among the 97% of their members who cannot make a living. Most projects (scripts) are coveted by larger studios and maybe 4-6 agencies who are given the ability to cast and assign their prospective clients to each movie. Therefore shutting out 159,000 actors who are not repped by the top 4-6 agencies. THIS IS CALLED A MONOPOLY. SAG needs to start helping its members procure work in a field that is overrun with Nepotism and greed. I agree with fighting for better residual rates but feel the larger issue lies with the aforementioned.

Just to clarify about the AI. One of the things studios want to do is pay BG workers for one day of work to scan their face/bodies and then use their likeness forever on digital avatars, never having to pay them for future work or residuals. The AI battle definitely is not just for celebrities, it affects everybody. And they can and are fighting for a lot of issues at the same time! Thanks for bringing some clarity into the work situation. It really seems like a tough world to get into.

As an aspiring voice actor, writer, performer and entertainment magnate myself, I completely side with you and those artists, actors, actresses, writers and creators demanding better representation, working accommodations and proper treatment. In fact, I'm kind of surprised how much effort you even have to put in not only being on those strike lines, but to take, organize and present the footage to online attention. I commend your demonstrated bravery and dignity, Mikayla, and yes, enough is enough of their garbage. NO ONE wanted this strike in the first place, but if that's how they're looking to play, stonewall (or better yet) break those arrogant executives right back! ✊

Dear SAG Members, We look after you. We work through the night for you. We beckon to your every call. We make you coffee and clear up after you. We empty the toilets for you. We pick you up and drive you to work. We cook lunch for you. We make sure you are safe. We do this to keep you happy. We change the course of the juggernaut that is the shoot to accommodate you and your availability. The cancelled holidays, missed weekends with friends and family, eighteen hour days have left our souls changed, but never broken. We freelancers lost our livelihoods in the pandemic. We adapted, we tested, we swabbed, we masked, we fogged, we cleaned, we isolated, we bubbled to get the industry back on track. We did this to keep you safe and to keep the show on the road. We fought and we won. We are not the camera crew who take all the glory and the awards. We are the support crew; The Locations Managers, the Production staff, the runners, the drivers, the security guards, the cooks and cleaners, the carpenters and painters. Honk 🚗!! Looked like one of the signs I helped made. I was told to wrap the entire stick with duct tape to prevent splinters and when it gets tiring you can hold at any position. Go Makayla!
