This video is a blessing and a curse. For years, I've left the excruciating summer here in Adelaide and have spent a month in Hokkaido for the snow festival. 2020 was the last time I was there, and it has now been 2 years since I have been able to go. The memories I have are wonderful, as is being able to see others enjoy the snow and cold. However the jealousy...... Oh my god, the jealousy. I want to cry so much. Also, Australia does have drinkable yoghurt.

Ahhh I worked in that Hilton 2011-2012! How nostalgic. I miss the free onsen every night, but I don't miss sleeping in the completely unheated seasonal employee shack they had us sleep in during -20 degree nights, lol. (You can actually see it in this video at 11:47, the little cream building in the bottom right hand corner almost completely buried in snow.) Incredible to see how little of Niseko has changed in ten years! I bet the Hilton operating staff are still running Windows 95 computers in the back room with their old CRT monitors and coming in to work 30 minutes early every morning (unpaid of course) to turn them on so they're they're ready to be used at 9am :').

I truly adore this part of your content, such quality Vlogs : Wholesome, funny, beautiful scenery, very good music. And at the same time not invasive or too intimate ? Maybe I'm not explaining it correctly (pardon my French ass) but sometimes Vlogers show everything about their travels, and it makes me feel kind of uncomfortable. Here there is a perfect balance of everything. Keep up the great work ! :)

Actually, there is drinkable yogurt outside of Japan, here in Bulgaria, where yogurt originated from actually and idk if you know but Japan bought the yogurt producing bacteria from us back in the 80s, so ye, here we have it just plain, with salt or all kinds of fruity flavors. Also we have smth like a "cold soup' where it's yogurt diluted with water, salt and shredded cucumber, meiji burugaria yoguruto has the recipes in their site where they also talk abt how they bought the bacteria from us

We used to get snow where I live a lot when I was younger, but we seem to get very little now. I miss those winters where you’d have snow for Christmas and you wouldn’t see it melt until March. Since Japan remains closed forever/who knows when, might pop up to Timberline Lodge and it’s epic fireplace here in Oregon in the next week or two.

As a Canadian, i find the temperature in Niseko to be quite nice, must be a litle chilly breeze. This morning, i woke up and shoveled some snow at -29 C, -38 C with the wind

There are shit-ton of drinkable yogurts in Central/Eastern Europe especially with different tastes, richness etc.

I see no much difference here in Canada. When it comes to ski or snowboarding, they become my top favourite winter sport of the season, especially if the sky gets clear

OH SHOOT THIS IS AWESOME I remember being in Hokkaido in the summer of 2018 at the Ki resort. It was fantastic! The size of the room was great and it had a nicely sized bedroom, washroom, living room space, dining table, and open kitchen. 10/10 would go again after this pandemic business. Edit: Just went on the website, they call it a "1-bedroom condo".

I saw the thumbnail and was like "Yeah -30 is pretty cold", but -7, that's t-shirt weather up here in northern Sweden. No but for real wind and humidity is really what makes cold weather feel like death's breath. And that flag was breakdancing on the ground.

Man Niseko is such a nice place, a bit pricey but one of the best mountains in the world. Incredible views, lots of powder and now that Japan is closed to turists, the whole mountain is empty.

Dang, now THAT is some snow! I really miss that kind of snow. The area I live in does snow but not that much. Before COVID my husband and I would go to Whistler in Canada. He'd ski while I stayed inside drinking hot cocoa and reading lol. I'd love to learn to ski or snowboard but I have absolutely terrible knees and ankles so I don't think I can safely.
