Hi Shan, We are coming down in about a month and staying at one of the Villa's in Windswept. The price for 6 nights with resort amenities is around $2,000 for a 1 bedroom. Playing Golf around $250 a round. If you play in January & February the green fees are $150 per round.

We were there a week ago and stayed in the resort. It ran about $800/night. The room was amazing. The spa, pool and other services were fantastic. I played Turtle, Cougar and Ocean and loved all three. On our next visit we will try the Villas. Weather was wonderful and we thoroughly loved the island. We live in Coeur d’Alene, another beautiful place, and found Kiawah to be wonderful.

I really enjoyed your review. I was there just after you (first week in Dec). Checked off a bucket list item by playing the Ocean Course and it lived up to my very high expectations. Also played Osprey Point. Stayed at the resort villas which reduced the greens fees. Although not inexpensive, I highly recommend playing the OC. What an experience. It certainly helped that we had a 60 degree day with very little wind. Again, great review of not only Kiawah, but Charleston as well!

Oh you were in my hometown (Charleston)! Looks like you had a great time! I’m glad 😊. It’s good to see the sites as I just moved to Hawaii so this video made me so happy. Thank you! You picked great restaurants. Next time try Hyman’s Seafood. They have been a longtime favorite of mine.

Nice review! We’ve vacationed on Kiawah for about 15 years now. We rented through Kiawah Resort once so we could have “resort privileges” which, in addition to the reduced greens fees, gets you access to the Night Heron pool and a few other perks. That said, our rental through the resort was kind of dumpy and neglected. My wife reached out to them about the condition and they simply weren’t that concerned about it. So we chalked it up to experience and will rent through Akers Ellis from now on as that’s the one rental company on Kiawah we’ve had the best luck with - even though you don’t get resort privileges.

Thank you for sharing! 😊 I'm surprised the rental wasn't in great condition considering the reputation of Kiawah Resort.

@@GolfwithShan Each property is usually owned by an individual who is mainly responsible for the upkeep/maintenance of that property - the overall condition falls on their shoulders ultimately. The Resort - or other rental company - mainly just does the advertising and handles the paperwork of the rental and any issues that pop up during the week it is rented - and takes their cut. The big advantage with renting through Kiawah is indeed the "resort privilege's" - which are nice. I think what tends to happen on Kiawah is the Villas (like you rented and what we rent each year) are kind of "second class citizens" compared to the full Home rentals - which are astronomically high (like $10,000/week up to over $30,000/week depending on the property and time of the year). We've rented some beautiful Villas over the years through various rental agencies - and had some rundown stinkers as well. It really comes down to the property owner and how well they want to take care of it (same as any other "beach resort" really). When we have had issues - even small ones - we've found Akers Ellis to be much more responsive and concerned about making us happy than Kiawah Resort is. Overall though - money talks - and in the grand scheme of things - our little 5-6k per week rental is just small potatoes to Kiawah Resort and they tend to focus more on the "big spenders" and tend to prioritize keeping them happy. That's at least our take on it.

Thank you for watching and hitting like! 😊 I'm not sure why RU-vid does this. I think other creators have noticed too.. where people are not suggested videos from channels they subscribe to.
