I see all these comments thanking Whitney Houston for this song. Thank you for this! Dolly Parton, the original singer and the legend; herself!! This song would have never been possible, without the brilliant voice of Dolly Parton! ❤️
To be fair, the piano pattern she was playing sounds dead easy. I've never played piano in my life and I guarantee if you give me an afternoon I could play the majority of that pattern, save for maybe the intro and the last bit where she picked it up (so imagine how easy it must be for someone who's been playing piano since they were 5 like she has), so it's not like it was really demanding of her attention. That's like saying she sang flawlessly while tapping her foot or snapping her fingers. One task is taking all the attention, the other is dead simple.
I remember when lzzy asked a while back what songs she wanted fans to pick for to sing, some ppl nominated this and I thought it was a step to far but she done it credit. Well done Lzzy......
I'm a 30 year old man sitting here bailing my eyes out and I've never cried to this song ....Lizzy is the only one that made me just bust out crying 😭😭
It's a great song from a great singer/songwriter. I remember the first time I saw Dolly sing it on her TV show she gave me chills. I love Lzzy's performance too. It shows how timeless the song is.
I remember the first time I heard "I get off on you" on the radio. I was driving down the road heading home after work and about wrecked my truck I was rocking it so hard, got home and had to call my buddy Sparky at the Blaze to find out who the hell the band was since I missed the intro. I have been a fan of Halestorm ever since and that was many years ago.
You can feel the emotion even in the way she PLAYS the piano, before she even starts singing! WAIT. That piano has the Halestorm logo on it? THAT'S SO AWESOME!!!
Lizzy is a classy lady. If you notice that she is in Knoxville, Tn, not to far from where Dolly Parton was raised. She is paying homage to Dolly. When she came to Rockford, IL she sang "I want you to want me" by Cheap Trick in Cheap Trick's hometown. She also did it on piano as a slow ballad. The auditorium erupted in cheers then sang along. What a classy Lady.
Halestorm. Lzzy and family and mates. I love this version and always love your music and covers. I am always amazed by the talent level of all in the band. My wife and I have been fans and patrons at many of your shows. We love everything about your band, writing, singing, drumming, guitar excellence, vocal Goddess, and collaboration and covers. This is that one song for me that grabs my soul. Whitney is the greatest!! your version was amazing! thank you for the the tribute! Lizzy, I argue with so many that you are one of the top 10 greatest female vocalist of all time.. thank you!
I will not compare this lady to Ms.Whitney or Ms.Parton. I will just say,she sound great!! I'd love for Ms.Hale to sing this song for my wife and I celebrating 24 years of marriage. Great job young lady!!💚👍💚👍💚
Stunning voice, such a gifted singer. I'm fortunate to have heard her many different types of music. Lzzy Hale has definitely left her mark on the world.
I came across this just now and I watched it. I was about to cry. Lzzy did such a fantastic job. There was a women on America Idol who did this exact same song names Jessica Sanchez she did a fantastic job on this song as well. This song is the hardest to do, but Lzzy and Jessica did such a marvelous job.
I can’t believe I missed this (And Live) as it was less than 15 miles from my driveway. Possibly the Most Tallented (And My Personal All Time Favorite) Rock Raven..Lzzy Hale is awesome in every rock way. Mad Mad Props Lzzy Hale.
I may or may not have given this a thumbs up in the 1st few seconds. Ok so I'm a big fan of Lzzy and the guys. Amazing as expected. My dream is a duet with her, but alas...
