I think the depression after birth may be largely due to exhaustion (sleep deprivation & healing). If it develops into full-blown postpartum depression, that’s another thing.
@@Grammichalin her case, depresion might be worsened by not fulfilling spiritual needs, her soul is drained, perhaps the physical or emotional absence of her close relatives, especially women, mother, sisters, etc, plus being away from her childhood cultures and environment, suddenly she found herself becoming a mother all alone, despite the unconditional support of her loving husband, we all are someone's child who needs the love vibes that only family can provide. We live and we learn, I have the feeling that she's stronger now in every way, and she'll be always alright, she's so blessed to have such a kind hearted family, her mother in love is a real one. 🙌🏽 Who is cutting onions now? 💕

I’m so glad you can afford a nurse to have helped you through the depression. My heart aches for the women that go through depression and can’t afford to have a nurse or anyone help them when they don’t have the strength to bath or get through the day .❤️
@@reneesavo I’m fully aware and she also said that she came back to bath her after the baby was born if the doula was coming back and bathing her for free that’s amazing but if she paid for that service than that’s something I wish women who experience depression who can’t afford help could receive. It’s nice to get help through your depression when you can afford to pay for help of someone coming back out to help you bath. My heart aches for women who go through depression and can’t afford or don’t have the support of someone picking them up and bathing them . A lot of women that go through depression just have to tough it out when they deserve as much support and help as anyone else .

That's good if you can tolerate someone but a lot of people with any sort of depression can't, I don't mean to put a downer on it, if this woman was helped then it most likely meant the World to her so I'm glad
@@Derbie.DarlingI’m Haitian, and after we give birth our moms or whatever female support we have would give us an herbal bath then vap for a week after we gave birth. This is to help cleanse and heal after postpartum…
I remember when I was a teenager and I had noone help me after I gave birth, my baby was 9 lbs 10 oz and he ripped me up so bad i couldn't walk for over a week! I used to sit alone with my baby and cry, sobbing loudly wishing someone would help me, but noone did. Your blessed to have a midwife there for you at home. ❤
Omg so sorry to hear you went thru that and all alone with your baby. Someone up above was watching over you and giving you strength to keep going and be able to heal physically and mentally as well. Hope you are well today along with your baby❤
I know how you felt because it happened to me too when I had my first baby I will sit with my stitches and couldn’t even sit properly but I had to bath, breastfeed and cook while I was very sick with no help. Now when I look at my 19 year old daughter, I give God all the glory. I hope you are now ok.
I went through it with my second child as well it scared me so bad I called the suicide helpline I thought I was going to hurt myself or the baby and within hours they sent a nurse out to me and what I needed was sleep I slept for two days straight this beautiful person took care of my baby for 2 days and two nights and I was fine afterwards I prayed whatever they are that they are blessed always.. I truly had thoughts of throwing my baby through the window I'm just sharing the truth I'm so grateful there was a hotline and that I called there was no judgment on me just help thank you FATHER GOD for sending help when and where and how needed you are truly Amazing Papa
Thank you for sharing this is something a lot of mothers think but to ashamed due to societal pressures to speak up. Hopefully women reading this will get the inspiration your story spreads.
Three days after my c-section I was still in so much pain I hadn’t showered and I felt absolutely miserable. My husband literally carried me into the hospital shower, had me sit down on a stool and proceeded to wash me wash me from head to toe. Our 6 year old was watching and she asked “Why is daddy washing you?” And I responded “Because he loves me and this is what love looks like.”

It is so hard when u feel so alone I feel that is harder than all the suffering 😢😢😢 I wish I didn’t feel this way and one person would just listen to me!

So wonderful! Most woman do not have the proper care after birth! The struggle is real! Post partum depression is real! I pushed through while some struggle a lot more! A Doula is priceless! Someone mother is priceless! A new baby is priceless! But requires a healthy mom to push thru and take care of her baby! Amen! ❤
Someone told me that no one was harder on women than other women! When I got married and had children, I found out how true that was! If we all held one another up like this no matter if we agree with the choices she has made or the way she believes! Being sisters across religious and racial lines! Older women give advice, respectively, and younger women accepting it, respectively! Could you imagine how powerful we would be? As daughters, as sisters, as wives, as mothers,as WOMEN!
I had no help with my daughter. I suffered several Nervous breakdowns where I sit over her and cry my eyes out. No one to call. No grandmother. No child father. Absolutely alone. I used to go online to research the stages example what to expect at a month old two months old etc. i called my private pediatrician a lot I also went to a random pediatric consultant when my baby had skin discoloration which I found out it was eczema. I still have one child becus I refuse to put myself through this again

Motherhood is so loney. You realize very quickly youre on your own. It jaded me so much. My parents and in laws are going straight to an elderly care facility. Couldn't be bothered to help me, so why should I take care of them? 😔

It really hurts me to read all the comments from women wishing they had help with self care postpartum, or any help. I am a RN who has worked in many areas including women’s healthcare. I would definitely volunteer my time to help a mother in need. ❤
Thats so sweet. I wish all mothers could experience this. Id really like the korean tradition of having a nurse paid by your insurence to come help the first few months was common all over the world. Motherhood is so hard. ❤
I love this.🥰I didn't have anyone to help me after I had my kids. But God was merciful to me. I left the hospital early and went shopping but I was an anomaly and I know it.

My mom n husband would would get home around the same time. My husband would take my daughter and my mom would take me. I needed it. Postpartum is real.

For anyone else not on TT who was lost af: A new (single?) mom went viral after posting a video collecting dirty diapers left around her house (presumably over the course of one day?) prompting other moms to share their "17 diapers", or mundane tasks they found challenging postpartum navigating depression and caring for newborns. Some shared fhat despite the uncleanliness or impropriety of leaving dirty diapers, it showed perseverance on the mom's part to continue changing and caring for her children regardless of capacity/drain/etc. Others just criticized her as dirty. There you go I saved you the google search lol
Just to add a few facts. She's not single but in fact married. She had a C-section. And her husband decided to go on a hunting trip instead of helping her care for their other toddler, their new born, and herself
Life's really hard out there. I don't take it for granted that our family members gather just to support through the first two months after birth, even during birth..#❤Africa..
I see so much negative comments about this type of situation & the saddest part is that people can’t even see what this can do for someone who is struggling with no help , let alone see other women bashing her !!! women supporting women ! 💅🏼
You don’t need Jesus to be empathic, compassionate, and to care for others. Happy for you that that is your “thing,” but I’m proud of the fact that I show/care empathy in most of my interactions with humans - without Jesus. I call to a higher being - humanity.
Yesss. This is soo beautiful. I know this all too well. I went through it with my first child and caught the symptoms for my second child. It was a blessing that I had my doula, husband and support system to carry me through it. God bless you!! ❤❤❤
