By the way this episode wasn't animated by Pierrot it was outsourced to the filler studio because of their crazy time constraints, even 292 which was made by Pierrot was rushed even though it still looked great. So hopefully the hiatus makes it more consistent for the anime and the animators sake.
Pierrot works on every episode to some extent. Outsourced studios aren’t “filler studios”. Some of the best episodes of the series were outsourced, the key is giving them proper time and direction.
@@deffydubs Yea ik outsourced isn't always necessary a bad thing, but most of this ep was given to Studio Jiwoo and Studio Bus who usually work on boruto filler. While 292 was mainly in house.
@@meltedz2204 it was outsourced to two studios, Jiwoo and Bus, the some corrections and cuts by Pierrot, but it was still rough due to tight deadlines. Hopefully they get their shit together after the hiatus and use the break to get ahead on the workload.
Boruto's Karma pattern changes only when Momoshiki has fully taken control, you can perfectly see it at the end of the episode when Momoshiki switches with Boruto at 15:34. For me personally in the anime i think it makes more sense to be like that.
Not really. The blue coloured pattern is supposed to be like karma v2, or true essence karma. So, the manga makes more sense, since in base, he isn't using all his power. We saw this with both Jigen and Kawaki as well.
@@hdmicord8200 actually it has to better than others at least in terms of animation , because the story is a complete mess and the new chapter is even worse , they are writing anything as of now , so at least fans deserve a consistent great animation and not some good still frames.
when you complained that the marks have expanded to the shapes, it is because they have made them expand only when he is in the next phase of karma. When Momoshiki took control and used the full power of karma, his horn grew and the marks expanded to Boruto's shapes as well.
It’s crazy to me how Heisuten has literally talked to animators on the show and still can’t comprehend what issues it’s going through. You’ve watched like a thousand episodes of this series dawg you know not every episode is gonna look top tier. Not every scene can look like the Eida shot because they weren’t given that kind of time. A single frame is way different than a the over 2 thousand frames it takes to make an anime episode. Episodes like 189 are worked on for like 6 months, on a weekly schedule product like that is impossible to give consistently.
One of my biggest issues i have with boruto since Kawaki came into the picture is that they sidlined Mitzuki (and Sarada) absolutly. Mizuki even got the super cool Sage Transformation that we never saw again =/
In the manga, the only time Mitsuki's used his Sage Mode was in the last chapter (aside from his flashback/origin story which was in his own mini-manga)
I’m still upset they hyped up the fight between mistki and boruto at the end of the episode and than next episode they just glide over that like it never even happened lol
If you’re wondering why the manga and anime look so different, it’s because Studio Perriot uses Kishimoto’s original designs from the Boruto movie. The only thing they did change was giving this man f*cking triangles on his cloak. In both the final chapter of Naruto and the manga version of the Shin Arc, Naruto has red flames just Minato. But in the Boruto movie he has triangles. In the Boruto manga, Ikemoto (the new artist) changed the designs of Kishimoto, like Konohamaru and Naruto
In Boruto chapter 51 Naruto says he can go into Six Paths Sage Mode when him and Kurama work together, which is consistent with what we see and are told about Six Paths Sage Mode in the War and The Last
@@jd.cd2493 nope. Naruto doesn’t have all of the Tailed Beast Chakra in Boruto. When one has the chakra of all nine beasts, 9 magatamas form on their back as a sign of having Six Paths Senjutsu. In Boruto, Naruto has only six. And this is further shown in the anime, where it states that some of the Tailed Beast have disconnected with him He had Six Paths Sage Mode, KCM, KLM, and Toad Sage Mode
@@joeker5208 it’s never stated that he’s disconnected from any of them and the magatama are just a design choice and not an indicator for how many beasts he’s connected to. If didn’t have fragments of each of them he wouldn’t still have sixpaths senjutsu
@@jd.cd2493 no. Episode 124 of Boruto, has a conference between Naruto and the Tailed Beasts. But Naruto is only connected to 6 of them. As three others have abandoned his calls. And the maximum amount of the magatamas on Naruto’s back during Boruto are only 6. Never 9, as opposed to the War Chapter 673 of Naruto, explains that those with 9 magatamas are a show of proof for having Six Paths Senjutsu. And your need to back that it’s just a “design choice”. As we know Hokage Naruto’s design was actually thought about by both Kishimoto and Ikemoto when making the Boruto era, as even things like how the chakra cloak and sun symbol were all discussed during the making of the Boruto movie and manga, as shown in the Boruto guidebook and interviews with Ikemoto He doesn’t have Six Paths Senjutsu in Boruto. He still has Six Paths Sage Mode, at least until Kurama dies
@@joeker5208 sixpaths senjutsu is sixpaths sagemode 🤦🏾♂️ In chapter 673 naruto doesn’t even know what’s going on with his powers and only activates kurumas chakra at the end of the chapter Naruto can speak to them before sixpaths and it’s separate to him calling on their chakra in battle, he also wasn’t able to call on their chakra until he had all 9 and he uses lava rasenshuriken against Delta
Really feels like another 203 & 134 situation, where the episode before a major battle is ass because they put most effort into the next. I’m really glad they’re going on that 3-6 month break. They really need to get their stuff together.
Its actually not Pierrot who animates these episodes cus of the bad schedule and they are all outsourced so thats why characters look like that also manga designs are really detailed and Pierrot can do it but it takes more time but they simplified it so they can outsorce the episodes so other studios are able to animate it easily and make it consistent cus episodes are outsourced most of the time cus of schedule issues.. unfortunately, but hopefully after the break things can change a bit
Honestly, I think if SP had properly animated Boruto manga with the same character designs as in the manga(Just look at how dope KCM naruto looks in the manga), Boruto anime would be one of the best new gen anime
But drawing characters like in the manga with so many details takes more time for them to animate the episode especially if they outsource it to other smaller studios and they cant match the artstyle of the manga so they simplified the designs. Cus in a weekly anime you cant make every episode look clean especially if they have schedule issues in the studio. Episode 189 took 4 to 5 months to produce with manga style and that animation and they have to produce em weekly. If they let the manga run for like 2 or 3 years and in meantime they animated all episodes and catching up with manga and then started the anime 3 years after the manga while having all the episodes animated so good(at least manga canon ones with way less anime canon episodes) it would've been better imo
@@jd.cd2493 uhm not really cus that what you call filler is doing huge numbers in Japan and east in general, only western fans just want killing and gore and blood everywhere. So why wouldnt they adapt something that fans there love? Cus their main audience are Japanese people not you or me. And its not on sudio to decide that but on TV Tokyo and they wanted to animate all that cus its making numbers and its 2nd most profiting anime after naruto for them and in some aspects it does even better than naruto.
@@markogagic4091 Boruto is so profitable for TV Tokyo because of overseas licensing and merch sales. 80% of its revenue is from the West, according the same investor reports you're referencing. Its TV ratings are nothing special, it doesn't chart compared to other big anime and is well below what Naruto averaged.
I personally can enjoy it even with how the animation is but the scene where Boruto is coming down from his high is actually a very good shot it's called a dolly zoom
the reason code avoids his rasengans is because the karma increases the strength of his chakra ( with karma he gains a bit of access to momo’s battle experience which definitely improves his chakra control)
Kishimoto is the storyteller but ikemoto is the illustrator and the mangaka and he has been a dbz fan that is why you see similarities in power scaling etc
I'm only doing manga content. I read the manga, then i come back for the animation when the fillers are over. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad like this episode. My main problem with the animation tho is the art style. It's got the same art style that cartoons for 2-3 year old kids have here in my country.
Did they? Goblin Naruto came back in 292. This is shamefull and the people defending it are even worse. I love Naruto but Boruto is just a cash grab with no heart.
@@miratodc if you genuinely think that frame of naruto was bad then idk what to tell you, except that youve no knowledge of artstyle or animation and you dont deserve to watch it anyways. youve got no right to complain about a perfect looking frame/ shot of a flashback sequence if you cant even draw anything close to it. stop being ungrateful and change your perspective to a more positive one
The production team apparently got some veterans on so I hope after the break, they will do the manga justice because there is some peake content that follows after the events of episode 293.
Even after a break you cant expect godlike sakuga every week cus its a weekly anime but at least they can be consistent and average animation can be like last episode for example at best
@@markogagic4091 Of course I don't want amazing sakuga every week, that is hard even for seasonal. It just needs to be balanced between art and animation to deliver quality depending on the plot is what I mean.
@@NorikStormblaze i agree they need to find the balance and make that consistent, i would like something like episode 290 with kawaki escaping the village. That ep has good artstyle and animation and that can be a standard for future non combat heavy episodes
@@kikietle4207 well they took a break so that's a good sign. The last time they took a break was before the Kara and Kawaki arc and it turned out great. I'm sure it will be better because the staff themselves had asked for this break to get the production schedule right for all that is to come.
189 is the only episode that tried to emulate Ikemoto's more detailed manga art style, Ichiro Uno drew up completely new character reference sheets for it. The rest of the series tries to follow the movie style and Kishimoto's designs for it, with Tetsuya Nishio (anime character designer since the OG) redesigning and simplifying Ikemoto's characters. IMO they should switch over fully to the 189 style for Part 2. Part 1 it was understandable since early on they reused a lot of stuff from the movie, including lots of animation. They needed to remain visual consistency after that, which meant deviating from the manga art style. But if they're relaunching the series, they don't need to try and redesign everything to conform to the old look.
I agree that you should start reading the manga after the anime goes on hiatus. I know that anime sometimes outperforms the manga but most of the times like with this episode, it just sullies the credibility of the series as a whole(no disrespect to the animators).
Be careful with the boruto manga. You can get dmca and channel strikes really easily. Most “reactions“ to the boruto manga don’t even show the panels on screen. Maybe putting that weird film thing over it would help but idk. Would love to see manga reactions though.
Tbh they probably made ishiki look round in some scene just to save up some time. Cuz if he looks sick on every scene that’s gonna take a huge amount of time to draw and animate.
almost like it's their job to animate the show to the best of their abilities 🤔, considering theyre a multi million dollar studio, not drawing eggs for human heads like 5 year olds is the least they could do
I hated how isshiki looked in the anime,he just looks less of a chad and his strong features were gone,i know they did it to express more emotions in his face but ehhh
“They can’t even draw a few black lines on his face that’s where we at now” I don’t know man this just sounds very entitled and inconsiderate to the conditions these animators are working under
I think it is a new technique that they are trying, the land is 3D and the trees and characters are 2D. In terms of karma experiences, I think it differs if you extract them via karma or Otsusuke himself uses them. You know Otsusuke has thousands of years of experience but he uses one or two styles and he has his arsenal of experiences like Momoshiki, but karma can take out everything. I hope you start the manga from the first chapter for those who want to watch the reaction
@@joesuss4669 No, it is important. It is the most important series for the studio, and it brings them a lot of money. It is also important for Tokyo TV. If the audience flees because of the poor quality, it will affect their profits.
Heisuten, as well as it seems most of the people here. I get that the animation is weird. But watching this episode and in fact the whole of Naruto and Boruto I NEVER even noticed the animation problem. Because I was to god damn invested in what's going on to even think about it. And believe me I do appreciate quality animation as much as the next guy, but that is of SOOOO LOW importance for me in a show like Naruto (Yea I get it's Shonen, but still) that focuses primarily on feelings and different social themes, the fighting is honestly for me just a way to see someone's progress or power lvl.
The reason Naruto’s style is different between the anime and manga is bc the anime studios use kishimotos style of older naruto, which has the triangles on the cloak :/
Standards in the entertainment industry as a whole sucks now. Our generation needs to bring the bar back to where it was at the least. Imagine 1990s/2000s effort with 2020s new technologies
This episode disappointed a lot of boruto fans too 😂 But at least next episode is better, also it’s a good thing the anime is going on hiatus to fix the production.
No ones gonna point out where the fuck did borushiki got all that chakra to make that bigass rasingan when boruto don't have much chakra & momoshiki uses others chakra after absorbing it 😂😂
dont be forgetting Pierrot is animating bleach and they be putting all there budget into that with demon slayer level animation, they aint a bad studio
Boruto fighting style in his true essence form was more like Dbz than One piece. He Connected Boruto stream while he instant transmission and he was clearly using Hyuga clan Gentle fist as well.
Byakugan design in Boruto manga still look same like original Naruto and Shippuden manga and anime. Byakugan design in anime look different starting Naruto The Last and Sasuke Hiden Arc in Ns ep 484.
