I don't think it's awful or anything but it does remind me of when I fuck up my nail polish by like, bumping them against fabric before they're fully dry. The colors are very pretty though.
I don't think the texture is ugly but it would probably be scratchy on the skin. You can probably add a top coat and still see the texture under with a smooth feeling on the skin.
if you did some color blocking with a glossy finish, metallic finish, and a matte finish next to the textured polish (like fashion sneakers would be), it would really hammer home the fact that its intentional. i think that would be cute
My thoughts exactly. I was literally thinking this texture looks intentional right before she said it. Unlike that black one that looked like it "expired" 100 years ago.
I like it. I don't think it looks bad. I'm not ashamed that I like it. If I had that collection I'd wear it. If I had nice nails I didn't bite & pick at all the time I'd buy it.
I like them! The texture is way more even across the nail. I think they are exactly what to expect from Very Pretty Textured Polishes. Sinful Colors gets an A+ for understanding and delivering on the assignment. ⭐️
FINALLY a fellow sneaker texture fan! I forget the name of the color I have but it’s my favorite shade of blue. I can definitely see how people think it’s ugly though. It’s pretty divisive, like black licorice. You either love it or hate it.
I have the blue one and I basically only use it with top coat bc textured stuff always bothers me. But I actually really love how they look as a skittle- if I had more of the colors maybe I’d wear them without topcoat more often
I LOVE texture polish! Such a fast manicure...do 1 or 2 coats & run out the door as you don't need top coat...unless you want to put it on. I'm with you on this 1!
I’m loving this ugly nail polish series! And just wanted to say that my two best friends and I just love your content; you have been a part of our nail polish obsession for a while now 😂! Thanks for doing what you do, much love from Nova Scotia!
I love this texture in nail polish. There’s a “pixie dust” line from the brand Zoya that are these really nice sandy textured glitters. They’re my all time favorite
honestly i love them, i like the feeling of just rubbing textured stuff, im autistic and its a less obvious way of regulating myself, i have literally every colour too because they're honestly so pretty and match my vibe perfectly ^_^
I agree. I don’t think these one’s are really bad. And I can imagine how it could look cool if you did like a checkerboard pattern with one of these and then another similar or same color of a smooth polish. ❤
As I always say, if we had all the Sinful Colors nail polishes range, in Italy (nowadays you can't find any of them, at all), they would be the only brand I would buy. Always loved the colours, the finishes, the bottle size. 💜
I have the blue one. It's actually quite pretty irl on its own but you can also use a glitter and/or a more sheer color on top and it smooths out the texture a bit.
The colors look more spring Easter eggs than summer to me, I can’t get into that particular texture, it has that “I didn’t wait long enough for them to dry & pick up the texture of my sofa” 😂
I kinda hated it at first but it definitely grew on me I can imagine they would be nice for stimming which is my main reason for the sudden switch in opinion
I feel like I could recreate this texture easily by bumping against the metallic parts of my desk, but also, sneakers feel fun to touch so I don’t mind it
It still just looks like you opened an old bottle and you’re trying to make the chunks work. Like I’ve legit tried to use vintage nail polish that left this kind of similar texture. It will never look intentional.
While different (and not my cup of tea) the texture looks super intentional and I can’t fault it for that! I like when companies try new things. But not Essie’s weird sludge effort.
me too! especially the purple, but I wouldn't sleep on the blue or pink either! apparently some ppl don't like textured or matte looks ( *shrugging?? * ) 🤷🏻♀️😅🤷🏻♀️😂
I actually really like these! I think they’d look cute in nail art or by themselves. I also would probably enjoy them as a sensory stim as well because I enjoy rubbing rough textures!.
They look super cool!! I would paint the nails with shhiny black base and then make like circles and dots with that polish! The contrast would be super cool
Honestly love textured nail polishes! The texture stops me biting as it covers up any nail imperfections that trigger me biting them, it's a shame they are so hated 😢
I think on extra long nails with textured hearts or stars would be really cool. Using the texture as a detail, not the whole thing I mean. These definitely have a place among pretty things ❤
It could be cool to add glitters to accentuate the texture, then a glossy coat on top so it feels smooth!! The other super textured polishes seem so chunky that a clear top coat wouldn’t cover the bumpy feeling, but this one seems perfect for creating some cool effects like that :))
If you're going for that texture, they're great! I definitely agree that it looks intentional within the polish. It's very consistent, packed in. I don't hate it. :) I mess up glossy polishes because I'm so impatient lol
The only thing about texture polish is throughout the day make up and other things can build up on them and they start to look grungy. When you wash your hands and use a soft brush to clean the surface, they look really nice after that. My favorite were the classic OPI Liquid sand. Zoya has some pretty good ones too.
I love that sneaker nail polish! It's like a fidget texture, and it's great that they dry so fast. I didn't know it came in purple too! I only had the pink and blue
I actually like this. Its an even finish and i can see people doing some unique art with this. I wouldn't wear it just straight up but if i wanted some bold nail look id consider this.
i think these are easier to make work on "nail salon" type of nails... like long and almond or coffee shape. it will definitely look intentional and elevated. would love to see them done that way.
I mean, this sort of thing is great for nail art, specifically abstract or even fabric/textile pattern art. Gingham fabric pattern nails in particular with these colours come to mind!
I agree with most comments saying it looks like an accident, but I'm also thinking maybe combining the use of normal polish and textured polish in a single design can save this? Something like when acrylic painters decide to combine the use of normal acrylics and acrylics for texture building (they're "blockier") to put emphasis on the textured parts of the painting
Maybe if you'd do stripes or some other patterns with this and a regular shiny polish, I'd like it. Like, same color on the entire nail, just the texture being stripy.
