TB did not believe in the RU-vid comments section, it invited too many toxic people and comments so he disabled it, he always encouraged viewers to discuss the videos on his subreddit, now that he is sadly no longer with us I'm assuming his wife decided to re-enabled them for some reason.

I would love to hear his input on the whole CP2077 situation. He told it as it is even before this NoManSky video and was strongly against the whole game pre-order culture and yet here we are again with CP2077...we have learned nothing. R.I.P. John

Lewis Wilkinson Totalbiscuit did not want toxic comments, so he stopped enabling them for years, however they were reenabled after his death. But I wonder if you already knew that and still wanted to piss over his grave with disinformation.
@Kipover
@Kipover 6 лет назад
Instantly going to the most negative thing you can think of him, rather than look towards a positive light? Meanwhile spills about preventing toxicity. Yes - You just helped the argument you are trying to protect. P.S. Sorry for being Toxic here. I do understand the premise behind the comment, albeit ignorant.

I guess. Personally I blame the head developer of No Mans Sky for lying about whats in the game before its release for the anger. While Total Biscuit blamed hype and players filling in the blanks on a game they knew little about.

@AntonChigurh-
@AntonChigurh- 2 года назад
That does not and will not ever excuse the piss poor launch. The game should and hopefully will always be remembered as a failure. It’s 2021 and another developer/publisher has pulled off an NMS, this time the guilty party are DICE and EA with Battlefield 2042. I’m tired of this “release broken game now, make the game great later” - no, fuck that. We should not ever accept garbage launches.

I was one of the few I think that showed 0 interests or care for No Man's Sky. I guess because while I'm a near addict to open world games and I go crazy for space/futuristic games, I just didn't care for any survival games. I don't find babysitting some gauges for resources fun or enjoyable. When it came out, I wasn't shocked it didn't do well BUT I would be lying if after the updates and how I've heard how complete the game feels how I was a bit intrigued in finding out how the game looks now. This game (if past games didn't do it...) should've taught people to not get hyped for things at all. It's a shame that doesn't work as people still buy into hype nonsense. Fallout 76 and Anthem being really good examples.

A lesson in Public Relations: Not attempting to put out the fire is the exact same as feeding the fire. If someone claims your product to be something it isn't, *you must make a public statement saying otherwise.* You must put them in the wrong.

So odd to see this now.. I was among those very pleased with the release, despite the problems on PC- because the thing I was most interested in wasn't Multiplayer but the "infinite" exploration/expansion concept... the procedural universe. But looking at the game today - seeing something far beyond what people expected back then, and didn't get.... Multiple methods for multiplay, base-building, upgradable .. everything, even living ships. There are So Many games I would have loved to see given this kind of treatment... those we put so much hope in only to be disappointed in the extreme... and watched the developers simply give up on them. ... wishing they could have done what HELLO Games did with NMS...

It’s unfair that they got so much hate when EA and other huge game companies fuck over communities and leave them with little or no change.
@blendernoob64

Its always big tent pole releases that I am the most skeptical of. Whenever the hype for a game is so massive because of trailers, and fancy presentations, I am skeptical if not completely turned off from the game entirely. I was skeptical of Watch Dogs, I was skeptical of Destiny 1, I was skeptical of No Mans Sky, I was skeptical of Cyberpunk 2077, I was skeptical of Doom 2016, I was skeptical of Elden Ring, I was skeptical of Battlefield 2042, I am skeptical of Breath of the Wild 2, and now Kingdom Hearts 4. Only two of those games ended up being good or fantastic, while the rest at launch were disappointing to game lovers everywhere. When you see big trailers, and everyone hyping up something, always have in the back of your head, that it might end up having some massive kerfuffle surrounding it at launch, not because you are a cynic who hates games, but because your expectations could cloud your vision on how something will come out.

I guess this is the silver lining with TB being dead. His channel is no longer heavily monitored and censored. Now you can comment in posts and not expect it to be deleted. I do like that. Bain overreacted to other people's opinions and treated the thoughts of others very unfairly for a person who expected others to approach him with an open mind. Now it's all water under the bridge. We can finally enjoy these videos the way we were supposed to.

@@Flavia1989 He did that even before his diagnosis. As great as he was, when interacting with the community he was an ass. His "you don't matter to me" tirade and equating every viewer with a plain statstic rather than seeing the person behind the avatar was what brought him the problems in the first place. For cry out loud, he even created a safe space Twitter where no negative opinions of anything he's ever done would be allowed and pre-banned people, some of whom were very active in the main TB subreddit, to ensure they can't speak against something he's done. Can't you see how hypocritical that is for someone who prouded himself on delivering scathing critique of othes' work while permitting no critique of his own? No one was perfect. John Bain changed the gaming scene by what he's done. Pretending he was a saint isn't how anyone should be rememered.
