Conner Darrell even though jones did end up liking the game. he and the rest us were asking all these question. while the rest of gt live guys and fans were saying, "IT ABOUT FUCKING DOING WHATEVER THAT ALL IT IS. for u then that what is u go do that u go minin that am not telling u anything. (jones and us were thinking... thanks for playing the pronoun game what is "that") IT AN AN AN ART GAME!" Jones and us, "so a ten there no way to score it." hmmm looking at game now fuck sean and hello games and they still want to make more procedurally generated games. yeah NO, Publisher will never trust HELLO GAMES AND SEAN after no man sky and i have to say this that random employee was right NO MAN SKY WAS A MISTAKE. But now in 2020 i & everyone did a 180... sean and his team did the impossible they became the good guys the never added microtransactions, no loot box, paid to win, never abandoned the game. They just went back to work after multiple updates, expansion they did it fix their game it much better then 2016 yes. is perfect not really but then i be nitpicking like i said it better then what it was in 2016. This what happened when hype culture gets out hand, tons of miss information can do. Sean did his best to describe the game but what all that did was backfire because everyone wanted information that what lead to the massive hype and exception of no man sky. So sean and hello Games i'm sorry so here $60 for no man sky

Jimmy De'Souza The Sean Murray wouldn't like you guy is Ben Moore, who's actually pretty cool and has hopefully learned from his lesson. The guy who was shouting from behind the camera was actually a different guy, Ian Hinck. He's still like that and can be annoying. All these guys are now at Easy Allies, which is honestly the only gaming journalism I bother listening to. Mostly because of Brandon (the one in the suit in this video).

I think everyone can agree that the ceo is lucky he didn’t face fraud charges and get sued into bankruptcy over what they did. They lied and falsely advertised so much to get the sales numbers up, I think if he would’ve served even a week in jail then it would’ve shown justice being served and everyone would be more willing to give him a second chance.

What is the point of making in the center if you can't call your progress really a journey? Because of all the hype videos and posts made people think that there is more in the game. They better add lot of new features and enemies in it, just mining and trading got boring pretty fast along with the centinels robots which are super easy to kill. Im not even going to into the "Epic space battles" because there is not really much to say, its boring as hell.

Kade Sitton it depends on what you want as an experience. If you’re looking for combat or star fighting it isn’t really going to scratch that itch. But if you want a relaxing experience of exploration involving base building and community then absolutely. It’s the pure definition of a chill game.

@@kadesitton5762 I'm personally playing through it right now, and it takes a little while to really get into, but once you get into deep space and start to understand the mechanics, it becomes an amazing, bizarre, and beautiful experience, especially with the Origins update. And if you play in VR, I've heard that this game becomes transcendent.

For people not understanding, back at the time, there wasn't base building and interesting quests, the main quest was basically "go to the center of the galaxy" and that was all. We couldn't land on freighters, we couldn't visit derelict freighters, there were no pirates, no colonies, and so on... That's something that is not mentioned in the video because back at the time we didn't knew the game would be incredible 7 years later.

I’ve just beat the game today (if you can even call it that) after playing it for the past month or so, 50 hours in. I had played this at launch many years ago but never beaten it until now. While the game is certainly massively improved from launch, tons of features and improvements made along the way, it is still fundamentally a boring experience. It is also still extremely buggy and my game crashed maybe 15-20 times while playing. There were definitely some fun moments but it still gets very repetitive. I got it for $20 and I feel like that is a good price for it. Definitely not worth $60 in my opinion. If you like spending 100s of hours doing the same thing over and over with no point in doing so, you might like this game.

Is it any wonder why the whole “modern games suck” mentality is so uncommon? It’s because you have shills online who’ll justify games being broken at launch with the “they’ll patch it later” excuse and it’s become so prominent it got to a point where game devs and publishers have been putting out broken games day one, which is extremely problematic. While I’m not against games receiving patches, I’m against games being broken at launch and if No Man’s sky was playable day one, then I might’ve gotten it day one.

I kind of feel for Sean. His body language screams awkward introvert. He legit had a vision for his game though. It isn't a huge company cash grab. The dude got swept up in the hype of his own game. And he believed his team could do everything he was saying by the time the game was released, they just ran out of time. To make it more stressful and confusing, Sony is on your back to deliver your game as early as possible, and they're telling you not to fucking say a single thing negative about your game when you're on prime time TV. All you do is program games. You don't know that people are going to take everything you say as scripture, you're just a normal guy with a tiny studio suddenly thrust into a very abnormal situation, trying to advocate for yourself and your vision. And all the while, Sky TV has your tiny team constantly embroiled in a lawsuit over having the word "Sky" in the name of your game. _For three years._ How would you handle all that? And if you say you'd handle it fine and not put a single foot wrong, I'll know you're lying. I know I would fall apart, and I'm surprised Sean didn't as well, *especially* considering his house and studio got flooded during the development of the game. He reminds me of myself. I don't want to disappoint other people, but I also don't have great time management skills, and he might not either. Not everyone has a team of hundreds of people to rely on and dozens of PR agents constantly managing the fans' perceptions of the game. And you should know, they were investigated for false advertising and cleared of any charges. So that's probably something to take note of.

This game and its studio is the ultimate underdog comeback story. We all expected them to take the money and run and yet Sean sat down and made the game great. For this reason alone I purchased the game even though it's not my thing. There aren't many good guys left out there when it comes to game development.

They needed years more to finish the game. But now virtually everything promised is in the game now, and a lot more than what is promised too. And it's still going, we had another massive expansion (bringing villages/colonies to the universe) a month or two ago, and there seems to be no sign of it stopping. Find me another game studio that supports their games like this. We're 5 years out from release and they just keep on adding expansions, oh, and did I mention they're all free?? No DLC, no micro transactions. Just straight up making the game better and better.

Sadly he didn't change the game afterwards and like what Protein said, devs and publishers are allowed to say that the advertisement is only an idea of concept. Also what Murray said was either led up with at the moment or he actually was telling the truth only it was a shitty truth. Example is the inter racial relationships with the aliens and how you can build up a kind of respect with them but he let people believe there was more to that.

I bought the game in 2019, in a state when it was already a lot better than launch so I cannot say that I feel the same as the people who bought at launch. But I kinda agree, they reaped all that they sowed. Can't go back in time to fix this and definitely can't please everyone so might as well just move forward and do better regardless of what people think.

yeah, i agree. i think he was aware that the game had been announced a few years too early but didn't know what to do about it. i know that problem myself, i always think stuff like "oh, yeah, i'll do this, tomorrow i'll do that, [...]" and so on and a week later i'm still sitting on the first day's task and haven't even finished half of it. pretty sure he simply hugely underestimated how long it would take to make such a game when he set a release date. and then of course he had sony behind him like "nah man, we made a shitload of ads already. you either release this game without delay or you pay us back every single cent that we spent on ads" still a very big mistake of him, but i doubt it was evil intent.

I originally didn't buy the game because of the poor reviews, but bought it recently now that I heard the reviews changed. I've dumped 100s of hours already and I'm having a blast. I can't believe how lackluster the game was on launch, but how much it has improved now. I wish more game companies can accept their mistakes and improve like this one did.

Well that is what happens when you say procedural generated. Its just an algorithm that rehashes the same content from a database only each time randomly generated. With limited objects and items in a database, the rehash will be the same after X amount of times.

The GameTrailers discussion was super interesting in hindsight. It really shows why it was so hyped and why it was destined to fail. The critic saw what the others didn't acknowledge they needed: something to do. His description of the gameplay was apt. Yet the others werent wrong either. Their vision of the game was correct. It just wasn't there yet.

I may be indulgent only with something that is either in Early Access, or was sold in a cheap bundle. Anything that cost 30€ or more (like Stellaris or American Truck Simulator) should be released as a complete game experience. Also the devs should be really open about the kind of long term support (and how they intend to finance it) and so i'm ok if the game will be constantly updated with DLC (like CK2). With devs like Paradox, SCS, or Dovetail i know what to expect when they publish a game, or a DLC. The problem with Hello Games is that this is their first ambitious project, and they have been really closed about it

And before you say anything I do have both PS4 and GTX 1060 PC but honestly, I preffer to play on the console. It's just a lot more interesting stuff to play. You can't change my opinion, period.

Hey Crowbcat, the first minute and ten seconds is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. It's so funny, I watch it every day to make myself happy and to keep me in a positive law of attraction type of mind set. What gets me every time is when the game crashes and the blue screen pops up and it cuts to the creator dude holding his head. It's the fact that you made it seem like that's what actually played before the audience. Your editing is impeccable, especially when the music gets crazy and you show one of the creatures glitching in tune to the beat. Fucking genius, dude. Fucking genius.

There is a player model, sort of... It's speculation, however, game files would indicate at a humanoid figure in game. The model is not used in game, but it is in a near complete state, it includes a helmet, a suit, and textures. Granted games are not without incomplete things, although, I don't think Hello Games would abandon a fully modeled character with most textures complete... FYI, Google is your friend...
