I wish I had this information when I was first diagnosed all those years ago.
Even being a medical practitioner, the idea of therapeutic nutrition was not really available to me. And it's very difficult with type one diabetes when you're not making progress with your condition, because you're told it's a progressive degenerative condition. And when you're not making the progress you like it's quite, it's quite difficult to feel that you haven't controlling your condition. So when you get control for the first time off in your life when you apply therapeutic nutrition, low carbohydrate diet, it's a remarkable thing. And I do know that parents and newly diagnosed people when they're casting around to try to get a handle on this sudden diagnosis, which is devastating personally for them. And you know, most parents would willingly give up the pancreas to their child if they could, it's very hard and to have resources which show that you can control your diabetes from day one, with therapeutic nutrition to a very high level of near physiological accuracy.
I think I would have loved that when I was when I first diagnosed.
