Ive been T1D for 41 years…. Saw Gary Taubes interviewed by Ken Berry and bought the book immediately…. Now it all makes sense to me…. My strategy is to basically ignore what doctors and dieticians say to me… everything I’ve done to improve my health I have started myself…. Thanks to You Tube University…. When I started zero carb 12 months ago by HbA1C was about 9… now it’s at 5.2 and still falling…. EVERYTHING has improved…. But yeah… what do I know…. Lived experience counts for nothing with these so called experts….

Maybe they need to be told their doing the wrong thing! No endocrinologist ever helped my T1D hubs and only made him worse with what they tell him. It wasn't until Dr. Bernstein that we finally got his A1C down to 7, which is still too high, and none of them(the ones we've been to) have any interest in learning what we're doing. So yes, they need to be told they are doing wrong and actually hurting, unintentionally, their patients. Now my hubs has IR which we likely wouldn't have if he would have known low carb from the beginning. You don't know you're doing something wrong or that you can serve your patients better if your not told.
