One of the reasons we high handicap golfers can't release the club is the lead hip. The lead hip has to move back away from the ball to allow the arms and hands to move into a good contact position. Most of us slide our hips toward the target.

Good club golfers can slide too much for sure but most 10 plus handicap golfers when tested on 3d don’t slide enough. Tour average is 6 inches from top of backswing and most get about 2. They definitely don’t rotate enough but that’s normally because of plane and club face issues

I believe it’s the lower body, look at hogan, once you learn to get width and a straight left arm and patience to stay down and behind, now just think about using your legs and hip turn. The stronger you are from the ground the purer the strike. The release will happen naturally. Too many use this theory of the release aren’t focused enough on how the lower body is the key to speed and strength.

You demonstrate a dragging clubhead, yet your swing is releasing at the bottom of your swing.

I create about 6 inches of shaft lean at impact, your average is 11. I want more so this concept and practice is ideal to influence my swing to be better. My bad shots go left. That’s what the video is about l. Influence your swing to be better. My swing is far from perfect

Think that’s covered in the video. 11degree of shaft lean is normal in elite players, when connected to the body rotation it’s the most efficient way. If you can’t connect and rotate you will need more hand action

This drill is really teaching a method to get a better feeling for a more delayed release, as a cure for an early release. It’s virtually impossible to drag the handle too far forward during a full speed swing with a proper body rotation, i.e. no forward slide.
