I WISH I Knew This Before Shiny Hunting Distortion Pokemon 

***UPDATE*** So as it turns out, weather matters a lot more than initially calculated for. 15 minutes isn't the best choice in a handful of cases. Here's the most optimal timings for each map assuming you're ONLY interested in Distortion shinies. Alabaster Icelands - 15mins Cobalt Coastlands - 25mins Obsidian Fieldlands - 40mins Crimson Mirelands - 40mins Coronet Highlands - 40mins If you're interested in anything else like other Alphas or regular shinies, I still think the 15 minute approach is fine for a lot of folks since you'll have more going on and you'll see a ton more Pokemon, but it is a bit worse depending on the map you're on. (Usually within 10% or less) Now the good news... Basically all of these options are FASTER than initially reported in this video! Most are under 100 total hours which is awesome! The only one that really sucks all around is Cobalt Coastlands because it is the WORST with how many weather effects could potentially cancel out your distortions.

I was so worried watching this video that my Shieldon hunt could've been optimized, but thankfully I actually used all of these tips beforehand! I personally had fun getting up high on the mountain, setting a timer, and drawing while I waited for the distortions to appear.

If I had even considered just doing the 15 instead of the full 40, I might have a Shalpha Porygon by now. Kept getting swindled out of it by thunderstorms at the worst times.

This is actually so helpful, I pretty much only have some unown forms, rare distortion spawns and for some magical reason, burmy before my living shiny dex is complete

Thanks for this, I am going to try the 15 minutes method of resetting. Trying for Shiny Porygon, and Shiny Alpha. Gonna be some pain in that, but you give me reason to believe that I can lessen the pain by a large margin this way.

Thanks for the tips I’m not currently shiny hunting these but I’ve been trying to perfect their pokedexes just to increase the standard rate if I end up getting a distortion while doing something else. Therefore I’ve been hunting distortions and was wondering if doing only 15 min was better and now I have it answered. I already got a sh sneasel while perfecting the dexes so hopefully my luck continuous and I can get a few more random distortion shinies before actually focusing on hunting them.

Just by looking at the times it takes for each distortion check it’s pretty clear that 15 minutes is the optimal time: in 15 minutes you get 3 rolls while in 40 min you only get 5 which is more than double the time for one less roll than what would be double. 15 minutes is also better than 10 because it involves less loading screens while keeping the same amount of checks.

I've been working on an in-game shiny dex and I have 52 of the 224 left. A lot of them appear in space time distortions, which winds up making them the easiest way to find some of them. For example, I still need 7 of the Eeveelutions

I found a shiny Driftblim in a distortion an hour after I got my first mass outbreak shiny, a likitung.

I miss the arceus streams... I used to tune in everyday

I've so far have only found 2 shinies in a distortion; a shiny Eevee in the Cobalt Coastlamds and a shiny alpha Ambipom in the Alabaster Icelands. They're both very special shinies to me, and I wasn't even hunting either of them (did one of them for the items/money and the other for a shiny Rowlet/Cranidos/Shieldon)

Might be hard to get there but when you do Arceus is the easiest shiny hunting mechanic we’ve had in a while. Great video. Hope you catch them all!

Mostly why I didn't shiny hunt in PLA, for the most part. I regardless, had a few shinies through outbreaks in PLA. I went to s Shuppet outbreak in S/V Last night, made and ate a Ghost sandwich, and caught 2 shinies, even though it took the majority of the night to get them.

What I do is that I catch an aggressive Pokémon and then fly around
