My theory for why they disabled Distortions in these weathers is because they didn’t want a Distortion to spawn where the Legendary Genies are.

That makes a ton of sense. Good on them because that seems like the kind of think they would have overlooked in previous games. Imagine getting locked out of the Genie quest because a distortion formed lol

I'm not entirely sure if it was pure coincidence or not but I managed to get a distortion to pop up with the sun symbol that you said wouldn't allow the spawn to trigger, but literally the second the distortion started forming, the weather immediately changed

This is Good to hear. The space time Distortions is one of my favorite new game mechanics in Legends: Arceus. It's one of the ways I level level up my Pokemon faster and get more items to sell. Thanks for covering this.

there's actually an alpha blissey in the obsidian fieldlands, specifically the "lls" in obsidian falls on the map, and every time you go to jubilife village and back, it respawns it drops a ton of exp, usually a large candy, and sometimes even grit items

Been getting approx 1 an hour all day (Icelands). Just tried this. Started blizzard 20 mins in, initiated battle til weather change, distortion approx 10 secs later, currently waiting by it waiting to start

IF ANYONE IS WATCHING IN 2024 HEADS UP THIS IS FALSE..... get a massive mass outbreak in the location u need or want it catch complete 3 mass outbreaks and after u hand the pokemon in a space time will SPAWN... YOUR WELCOME

Its actually every 5 minutes there's a chance to get a distortion. The chance just increases in those increments in that chart

I have just had a distortion form during harsh sun. I wasn't trying to get one to spawn but when I got the notification I checked the weather and saw it was harsh sun

...I have a theory fog can be added to this list. I remember sitting around in the mirelands for _two hours_ waiting for a distortion to form so I can catch porygon, but since I really couldn't collect or even walk around, I would literally go back and give up for the day, only to wait another day, with almost no fog, and finding 4 OF THEM BACK TO BACK

see, I would be inclined to believe that. However, I have been shiny hunting for cyndaquil myself for the past 10 days in the mirelands, and I have actually had several distortions spawn with fog as my weather.

just posting to give info I noticed at most you can only get three starter pokemon per distortion. while hunting cyndaquil in the crimson mirelands porygon , 2, and Z can take the place of one of the 3 starters in the distortion.

Good luck on the rowlet line, I was doing the same and perfected the fossil line also to optimize the rare spawns shiny chance. After 5 days I got a shiny shieldon!

why does intense sun interfere? the other 2 weathers i get bc they don't want the distortions to mess with the genies at all, but sun makes less sense.

just when I play I tend to get one within 5-20 minutes but I just catch a bunch of pokemon then it pops up before I turn stuff in not sure if that plays a roll. not going in battle tho just throwing a ball at them.

I'm postgame now and the weather literally ALWAYS turns to intense sun after I go to an area for any amount of time, it's getting pretty good damn annoying. Haven't had a distortion since the beginning of the game. Once it turns sunny it seems to stay sunny forever, I have no idea what's going on with this.

The distortions are really my main issue with this game. Going afk to wait out until you van even try to get some Pokemon is a pain in the ass. Shiny hunting starters is a pain in the ass.

On paper this is one of the cooler things they’ve added to Pokémon but in practice they hardly pop up for me even doing this method lol. Probably best to hunt during the story event

I'm at :24 on this vid. I am pst I play from 11am until 430pm I get atleast (don't anagram) space time distortion 🤣🤣🤣 1 in hr some times 2 in 1 hr and I rest run around hunting all day but I stay in 1 section of obsidian fields. Depending on what pokemon I'm trying to complete the pokedex for.

What if you save in front of a distortion? And if you don't find the shiny you reset? Would it work?

Nope, if you reset and reload the game, the distortion is no longer there and you have to wait all over again for a new one.

if the distortions have a 20% chance of happening every 5 minutes, if I wait 5 minutes, and in case the distortion doesn't happen, go back to the village and then back to one of the regions, does it reset the distortion timer or picks from the running time before I went back to the village?

There's a difference between "regular" sun and intense sun. Regular sun is fine (according to aDrive in this video), and is just a filled in circle with rays coming off it. Intense Sun is a different weather, and the symbol is a dot inside a circle with the rays coming off. Also, you can tell if your weather is intense sun in a couple ways. If the sun has very obvious glare rings around it when you look at it, or, more simply, if the corners of the screen are tinted white (similar to how they tint black when you're sneaking through grass).

Ummmmm what I’ve been reading all over google is that you have to battle farm items and so on to get one to spawn because I sat at a camp for a hour and nothing spawn
