A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. I’m Vietnamese-American and have lived in NYC and been to Saigon many times. You’re absolutely right about big city vibes/indifference. Head to the countryside (or less touristy areas of Saigon) and you’ll find the ppl. are a lot friendlier. Great videos…keep up the good work/travels!

Revolutionary hero Ho Chi Minh & General Vo Nguyen Giáp led the Vietnamese nationalists to fight off the Japanese,French, American, Chinese & Khmer Rouge all in the 20th Century. After ‘75 the Vietnamese destroyed Pol Pot regime in Cambodia then in ‘79 the Chinese invaded Vietnam and 22,000 of its soldiers were killed. The Chinese were forced to retreat. Northern Vietnamese fought against the US, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines and South Vietnam to reunite and liberate the south. It’s wild that Vietnam 🇻🇳 had fought so many wars in the 20th century and came out victorious

@@myertravels it gets even more interesting if you dig deeper into Vietnam’s history. It is the 3rd oldest civilization/country in the world just behind Iran & Egypt. Vietnam had always been on the defensive side protecting its sovereignty for thousands of years! You may know many ethnic groups had lost their country throughout history but Vietnam remains independent! Enjoy your stay in Vietnam!!

19:10 He said the City name after Ho Chi Minh because he was just a great leader and there're 2 nations that tried to take over Viet nam. OMG, this guy don't know anything about Kom-mu-nist 🤣. If America really try to take over Vietnam, it's even easier than Iraq ok. This guy needs to learn about Kom-mu-nism, if that's the case, Ho Chi Minh was named after a city, duh obviously regardless if he was a *great* leader or not. The world knows, HCM brought Kom-mu-nism to Viet nam, *RUINED Viet nam in the past and future to come*

19:30 oh man, he said the city was changed from SaiGon to HCM *because HCM was a strong balalalala.* OMG, he didn't know that the North Vietnam (communist) invaded South Vietnam (*democratic*) in 1975 and tell me about it, changing the name of a SaiGon Capital into HCM city is just a minor minor minor thing that the Kom-mu-nist has done. Again, it was an INVADING (from SAIGON capital to HCM city) but this guy don't know much at all about the Kom-mu-nism of Viet nam.

Communism was the only support to fight of foreigners for independence as the US did not help Ho Chi Minh during the French rule. This was written in American history books about Vietnam. The VN southerners are still bittered that Ho Chi Minh liberated them French and American puppets
