Just a disclaimer I am still learning this technique. I know the work is not perfect. This set took me way longer than expected and the client was getting very annoyed. I asked if I could fix her length to match the shorter nails and she didn’t want to. I tried to make it better but was under some pressure from the client. But I did mention that this is a new technique for me prior to her even coming in for extensions and she was fine with it. So please try to understand that I’m still learning and looking forward to improving 😊
You may not see this but you honestly did a wonderful job. Everyone has to start somewhere and as long as you get the job done while making someone happy (hopefully) I'd say it's a win win
The fact that she went to YOU to fix ANOTHER nail tech errors and was still impatient and getting annoyed with you is crazy. I would have let you take all the time you needed to fix my nails, ESPECIALLY my natural nails. I truly commend your patience.
@@pikachu7572 she probably said she wanted to cut some but then after it got cut changed her mind. Totally believable that she caused the miscommunication by being indecisive.
@@WilliamsPinchyou don’t even know the other girl who did her nails. Sounds like they both added products & are all being added together and on top of each other that should have been soaked off to the natural nail. If you listen she says the other tech she went to said she had a lot of cracks??? So she changed them. She didn’t like the shape so she came back to this girl. Even trash talking someone’s husband on a video thousands of people are going to see is SO unprofessional! She should have been taught that if she got her license somewhere reputable. Now it looks like she’s just fumbling her way through learning poly gels! There are so many technical mistakes this girl is making that I would be scared for her to do my nails and she sounds very sweet but she’s risking really hurting people. Look how ragged the cuticles are and she’s already just working away. She needs to be cleaning the cuticles off the nail beds and having her wash her hands with a nail brush before she ever starts as part of her prep. Not waiting until the end and squirting some kind of foam on nails in the middle of doing them. I never saw a primer or something to totally dry the nails properly. ‘Learning from RU-vid’ is the MOST DANGEROUS thing you can do and she’s clearly still learning no matter how many people are ‘following’ her.
No she tried to have something done for herself but had to go to somewhere else, didn't want what they did, had to go out of her way to book immediately after. Then saw she could switch it up with a pink instead! She's picky but not indecisive, she chose the best options as they presented themselves and came out with many WINS! Miss Nail Tech even got a video out of it😌🌹✔️ She probably wanted to try a new nail adventure and it wasn't really worth it. She was happy to come in, I'm sure!
Yeah, the shaping was not great on the 2nd set. And it seemed like her right hand was even more bulky than the left at the end. Idk... its wild this has so many views tbh....
Yeah I know the Russian manicure look is definitely in these days but there’s a fine line between cuticle and living skin lol it’s just not necessary in my opinion to go past removing dead skin
Ooh be very careful... Around her finger nail bed looks really irritated. Especially in the end I can see the puffy pink. She better be careful. That is one way to build up allergies. Be careful cutting all that skin away.
Cuticles are there to protect from bacteria and infections! When they push them back and/or cut them off they open up the risk of bacteria entering and infection starting!
Only if the skin is broken. It is ok to push the cuticles GENTLY back after soaking them in warm water, and a soft drill bit or fine grit file to remove any remaining dead skin from the nail bed, but using any sort of removal tool like nippers or scissors is ill advised as risk of cutting too deep can cause the dangerous things you mentioned... I use the rubber ended pusher that comes with most manicure kits and my local beauty supply store has orange wood sticks with the end covered with different file grits for getting under nail extensions to remove any glue, debris, or product build up, but they work really well for getting into the corners and edges where the skin is more difficult to get off the nail bed because they are nice and slim with a tapered tip that is precise but not sharp...
My cuticles are insane... Massive overgrowth (lifelong nail biter; only time I don't bite is when they're covered with fakies!). If I don't trim them, they're like 1/4th th way I'll my little nail beds 😢 I have no choice. I use a cuticle exfoliater, lift them up with my cuticle tool on my nail drill, and trim as closely as possible.
What!? Pushing cuticles back is perfectly fine. It allows for better adhesion anyway. Trimming isn't critical to the service and is a personal preference - it is a highly debated topic and is more common in Europe. Exfoliating with a fine round bit is a happy medium and is no different from exfoliating skin in the shower.
@@leahyvonne1572 might be but it does match up with the client’s nails not being grown out at all. Maybe by a few days she meant just under a week, at which point repeating cuticle prep makes more sense.
They look amazing! The cuticle trimming is my personal nightmare though. It's such a sensitive area for me and I never get my nails done because I have heard too many horror stories.
Big agree!!!! It also triggers something in me cause it looks like there's something like missing between the skin of the finger and the nail to me.... It makes me feel weird
A lot of nail techs don't trim. Its a controversial topic even within the industry and is more common in Europe tbh. Other techs will only use a fine round bit to exfoliate the dead skin off. But honestly if youre that scared by it, don't let that be the reason you never get your nails done. Just find a good tech who LISTENS. There are plenty of them who will not cut the cuticle if you ask them not to. Personally I'm only comfortable cutting my own right now and I've been doing nails for like 7 years. Id be more inclined to use a fine bit. But if someone asked me not to, I would just push the cuticles back and call it a day. A good nail tech understands it is about making the client comfortable & happy.
I have to let the tech know to just push my cuticles back and clean the sides of my cuticles. Whenever I forget to tell them they automatically cut them off and days later I'm left with peeling splitting skin. Not cute
@@naimamorgan6209That's the kind of nail techs you are going too. They are in a hurry and aren't experienced in the proper use of cuticle nippers and their tools are dull.
@@nailmartusa I thought that you sold buider gel from the brand American Creator but I was mistaken, which builder gel do you recommend? Are there any on amazon you recommend that are more accessible?
Honey you have the patience of a SAINT♥️….. and to add to that, not a single “snark” or “tone” about her going to someone else or how they did etc….not one. Class. I wish more people would apply this attitude to their daily life. You lead by example and a really great one at that. ♥️ I wish that you lived right around the corner as I would be there daily begging to just WATCH you work!!! (I’d even clean up after for you!!). You have most likely forgot more than I have learned and I have learned a LOT from you!!! THANK YOU for being YOU! You are a humble and beautiful Soul who we are so blessed to learn from. Your attitude on it’s own makes me want to be a better person.♥️🙏🏻
"prettiest nail beds" feels like such a weird niche compliment. Like I remember I once went to my barber and she couldn't stop talking about my ears being so soft? What?😭
I do my own I want to beauty school beyond ago and I can't make myself like jelly or milky I'm more of a neon pink or yellow kind of person lol I have all the chromes and a bunch of glitters and all that stuff but I'm not going to lie she sounds like a pain in the rectum as a customer I hope she tips well
For those bothered by the way her nails turned out The simple answer is NATURAL NAILS DONT GROW PERFECT. She had explained this sooo many times !! Why does it bother yall so much cause I’m sure most of yall have a nail or two that do the same thing !!
At the time I’m reading this comment, it’s literally only 46 comments so I read through them all and the replies and literally no one is bitchin but you lol unless you or the owner of this page deleted the comments which I doubt
Nail tech, here. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE GET PAINT LIKE THAT. This can be really damaging to the original nails and result in thining. It will also hurt a lot afterwards. Just file off the top coat with a buffer or drill. Use magic remover or any other gel paint removal. Leave it for 5 minutes and scrape it off cuticle pusher
A genuine nail tech would clearly see that she didn’t file down to the natural nail. You can clearly see a layer of base coat left when she’s finished with the nail drill and is using the hand file. Doing a full removal and scraping off the base coat would have been a far more damaging process than what she did here. Also, “magic remover” is not a safe product and should never be used on a client, something a qualified nail tech should be well aware of. I dearly hope you aren’t doing so.
I’m not jealous of girls often but one thing I have always envied is that long nail bed 😂 their nails cut at the tips of their fingers look like medium acrylics on me 🤣 plus their hands look so pretty and feminine. If there was one thing I could change about myself, that would be it.
@@laurenbrown2193 🤣🤣 it sounds so silly but I’m dead ass lmao I’m glad I’m not the only one, I feel slightly better about this odd insecurity of mine 😂🥲🫣😏
For all the sensitive people in the comments getting mad that people are stating their opinions about the nails she did, need to get over it. She decided to post this on the internet she's going to get criticism. Plus no one is even being mean ppl are just pointing things out, as they should. 💀
I know it can be annoying, as many have pointed out here in the comments. But since she is the paying customer isn't she allowed to change her mind? Nails aren't cheap either maybe she wanted to be absolutely sure before spending so much.
Looks like they needed to be buffed and shaped a little before topping after the overlay. I primarily use gels, and that the con for me because my nailbeds are groovy and sidewalls are deep, I have to build up and then smooth out... lots of work. Polygels are best for that imo because you don't need to overlap to get the structure, its foundation and strength in one.

@@tracyjulien3287 pushing cuticles (or rather, the PNF, since 'cuticle' is just the dead skin stuck to the nail you scrape off) back is a completely different technique and if done properly and gently is not harmful. the key is being light and gentle with it, that way you free up your nail plate so you don't flood into the PNF when applying nail polish, and the pushed back PNF will spring back within half an hour to an hour at most, because it didn't damage the actual skin
I mean to each his own but the first that looked better cleaner more Immaculate and uniform in shape. I agree Chrome with have enhanced the pink. Nothing better than bubble bath with chrome which I'm rocking now. But I took a screenshot of the first set and I'm probably going to get that shape and color when I get my nails done again.😂
STOP using this technique for skin/cuticle prep! It's both dangerous and unnecessary. Check out Doug Schoon and why it's considered an invasive procedure and the microscopic damage you are causing! Leading to much worse issues than you 'corrected' PLEASE you seem like a good tech otherwise.
Gawd. Thank goodness for this comment. I NEVER understand why they have to take so much from the cuticle. Honestly, hands/nails look so fake with the cuticle so receded; like a dead person (I’m a nurse and dad is a mortician so I’ve seen plenty a dead bodies/people).
Glad you said this before I did. You are nice lol. Cuticles need a soft touch it's a very sensitive area. How can someone who gets their nails done not understand. I would have stopped and left.

The white colored pearly chrome wouldve worked even if only done on like the pinkies only i think (if not all of em) but either way you did an epic job as per usual chica.. great job! Thumbs 👍🏻
Both designs looked wonderful! The only thing throwing me off with the second, (which is not a reflection on you) they made me think of those practice/display fake hands that can have the "nails" pulled out and now I can’t unsee it. 😂
This is because you prep your clients nails so rough and damaged tf out of them!! I’m a cosmetologist and would never have my clients natural nails looking as terrible as yours. Those poor girls
I've only had my nails done a few times and one person did my cuticles like this. They were red a raw, and I was going camping so i ended up getting splits and infection around my nails from all the dust. it was so unpleasant. I never want to have that done again.
i loved both sets & wish i had your talent! although i would prefer a slightly thinner almond nail at the tips, i think i’ll have to see how that kind of shape would look on me too
@@MeadowsMiniFarm when you use the method that she did you can even out the nails, it's like using a dual form, so no excuse on why they were uneven and lumpy🤦
@@MeadowsMiniFarmshe literally added gel to make them longer therefore, they are NOT natural nails. The do look chunky, lopsided and unattractive. That paint job didn’t help either.
The easiest way to oval nails is to put your file under the free edge laying flat. Then tip up your file towards the sky, like 10% start filing side to side, your free edge will naturally go into a oval shape. It happens so fast, so don't go to fast, but doing it this way, you get an even oval, because you filed both side at the same time. I hope this made sense because iys so hard to describe in text. 😊
