i WISH this movie was good (Wish Rewrite) 

I feel like fanfic writers make better stories than Hollywood does.

I like how you made Asha the child of the villains!! I thought that was the original plot of the movie based on the trailers and i only found out when the movie was released that she just isn't lol. i think asha being the kid of the villains has so much more potential

Something interesting I find: 1. Never has a Disney film featured so many fan rewrites (especially while it's still in theatres). 2. No one really focuses on Magnifico's tragic backstory and instead just lean into him being a full villain. I'd have enjoyed him being a grey villain; proper ones are so rare. And another note: I'm surprised no one sees Star as blue rather than yellow/gold, in reference to the night sky.

Maybe the king and queen could be Asha's aunt and uncle instead of parents? Maybe the story could be like Macbeth, and Magnifico and his wife had Asha's parents killed so they could take over the kingdom? And Star Boy helps Asha reclaim her birthright as ruler of Rosas.

This is just a little idea but I was thinking while I love mute star and I get that would hinder a duet I don’t think it would be impossible. Idk it’s just you know how sometimes looking at stars you hear a little shimmering or humming sound like in movies? What if star could hum? I thought it could be cool like an acoustic love song with star humming the tune and Asha singing the melody.

The duet. It can work, by making Star's part still sung, but since they are mute in Asha's world, it would be wise to put something referencing "A Whole New World" travel sequence or maybe "A Friend Like Me" visual sequence. It can also be made so, that the island is more connected to the Star's Kingdom, where they can speak.

Disney literally needs to hire you

this is great! making her their child is able to make her an official Disney princess, and I rlly like the love story! There was sm potential for this movie and that void feels more filled thanks to this video :D The princess and the frog comment reminded me that my friend who had only seen the concept art assumed Evangeline would become Ashas' and the star's child, or a descendant and that stuck with me for some reason haha Brilliant video, amazing art, new subscriber :>

I saw the movie and it was just references from past Disney movies compiled into one, no original plot ideas. Why not have the star as a star nymph and the lead girl in love with him? And seeing that the movie takes place on an island kingdom in the Mediterranean Sea, between the Iberian Peninsula and Northern Africa, why didn’t they just give us an original fairy tale based on Spanish folklore?

Yes! I love the idea of star being mute and using sign language!! Also, it would be cool if star was non binary, so we could have more representation of the lgbtq community!

This is the thanks we get being a duet of Magnifico and Amaya sounds incredible omg 😳 I was wondering why you made Asha adopted when she can just be the biological daughter but that explains it well since her being adopted helps set up the song as a whole since the two would be like “We gave you a life that few could dream of and this is the thanks we get?” (Not an actual song line, I can’t write songs, that could just be like what they say before they burst into song lol) There is of course the issue of it being too Mother Gothel like since she is the last true Disney villain so comparisons are inevitable but I could see where the differences lie. Gothel is entirely interested in herself and her youth and sees Rapunzel as a slave while Magnifico and Amaya are interested in their power and want Asha to be someone who continues their power and she’s moreso a prop to their perfect royal image since a royal family looks more idyllic with a perfect princess who tells stories to children. Plus the fact its a gaslighting mother AND father brings a whole new dynamic than just a single mother since there could be a false good cop/bad cop situation but of course they’re both evil and are abusive to Asha it could just have like Amaya seem softer to her at first but really she’s just buttering Asha up so she’s on their side and so she’s hurt more when she and Magnifico talk down on her (I also love all the panels of Amaya and Magnifico together. The evil couple we deserved)

The kigndom is based in Spain, we dont change our last name with marriage because its misogynistic, so Amaya would still have her original last name

I loved the rewrite so much I wish the actual movie was like this. Why does Disney waste such great potential on their movies nowadays

I would 100% watch this movie if it was like this! I’m a huge sucker for the tropes of “main character was raised by/on the side of the main villain and never questioned them believing they were in the right until they meet an outside force and discover the truth” and “hero is a relative of a villain”

4:13 Controversial?! Get them out of here! Only two friends serve the plot and even then they could have combined the two into one character. The rest was useless except fulfilling this need for a Seven Dwarfs reference. I really love how you put emphasis on the king and queen forcing everyone to be dependent on them in a way. I have seen the interpretation before, but frankly: it's not hard to write something better than what we got. It's sad to see that this is the anniversary movie.

months later i suddenly remember this video and spent around 10 minutes to try and find it and when i did i sat down and watched it with glee. out of all the wish rewrites, i think this has to be my favourite with the idea of asha attempting to learn sign language for star like thats so sweet omg 😭

I love the idea of star being mute but I also want that duet, so my idea would have been to have him mute for a portion of the movie, and maybe discover a kind of magic that lets him talk? I will forever be waiting for Disney to remake the movie with it’s concept 😭

Sometimes I wish (no pun intended) that Disney had shown the original concept of the movie first and then showed what they went with instead and everyone bullied them into using the original concept, basically a reverse sonic movie.
