I want to see you finish a rehab on the Honda Accord! Replace the back window, detail the interior and I think a good wash, clay bar and wax would really make a difference. New battery, whatever may need fixed engine wise, I think you could still sell that car in todays market for $2500 to $3000

And won’t be surprised if this outlives any of the cars in your garage. That thing is great. Can’t believe someone didn’t get the fuses checked. There's definitely money to be made on that honda? A little bit of work and it'll be a nice car other than the hail damage but in Oklahoma I'd be a nice second car to go to work and stuff in the summer so if it does have a hail damage anymore ain't going to kill it. Put a little super unleaded in it too that'll help it.

When you order the back glass, be sure to order a pack of the Honda clips for that chrome trim piece. The OEM ones will be powdery and brittle by now. If you can't find them from Honda directly I believe Precision Auto Glass Parts makes aftermarkets. I was an auto glass tech for 5 years. With old Hondas, broken clips are a thing, but it saves those mouldings (hard to find undamaged). Otherwise congrats on a sick deal! I paid $900 for my 89 Prelude 2.0 Si manual and I'm learning how cool owning a Honda can be. I grew up with Nissans so it's a bit of a departure for me: my current daily is an 01 Xterra 2.4L manual I rescued from a towyard for $550. This is my kind of channel, keep us posted!

I had a white 1982 Honda Accord with 170,000 miles on it. Ran so good and the body and paint were almost perfect. It had blue interior which I never cared for but it was clean and no rips or fades. I lived in Payson Arizona and I decided to take the Honda up to Flagstaff with my sweetheart. I had a new Ford Explorer with the Eddie Bauer interior at the time. Very nice truck but I loved driving the Honda because it handled very well and it was a good looking car. It was the fall of 2000 and I needed some time away from the business I owned. So going up to Flagstaff I didn't have any problems. Ran like a new car. I bought this car for 500 dollars because it would not start. I got it home and flipped the fuse box cover and viola! It had a blown main fuse just like yours. I replaced it and it ran great for years. So the weekend of August we took the interstate up to Flagstaff and spent 2 day's up there. Sunday night we decided to take the scenic route back from Flagstaff to my home in Payson Arizona. We were on a two lane road when an Antelope jumped in front of us. I managed to swerve and miss this gigantic animal but hit the soft shoulder and the front wheels dug into the loose dirt and gravel. The back of the car flipped forward and fell right on to the roof. The sun roof was open and I sustained cuts and bruises on my head. I was bleeding pretty bad. If I had hit the animal at the speed I was going, my girlfriend or me or the both of us may have been crushed by the heavy body of the Antelope. Everything I had in the car was thrown all over the road. All my CD's were thrown miles apart. After the ambulance checked me out, I had the car towed to a filling station in Happy Jack Arizona about 5 miles from the accident site. What I am getting to is that except for a broken rear window and windshield, I was actually able to start the car and drive like nothing happened. The left front wheel was slightly bent and it shimmied but I got it up to 60 miles an hour. I didn't want to pay for towing so I drove it home the next day. The front windshield was shattered on the passenger side but I could see out of it. We both made it out alive and with very minimal injuries. My sweetheart was hanging upside down from the safety belts holding her. I had to release her and she fell down. That's pretty much what sealed our relationship. We have been together since the mid ninety's. I wanted to save the old Honda but the body was tweaked too much to be able to repair. Might as well pull the engine and drop it into another good Honda body. I sold it to a young guy that needed the engine and transmission. That was a great little car.

My father bought one new in 1984. I sold it in 94 a year after he passed. Well over 200,000 miles and it never ever missed a beat. Only thing I had to change after 10 years was the carburettor. I was easily getting 46 miles per gallon on the highway-( British gallons). Lovely stick shift and very nippy as it’s a light car so despite having less than 100 hp it could move.

Man, this really makes me miss my old 1986 Honda Prelude Si. It was an A20A with PGM-FI, the first year for fuel injection. I bought it off of the second owner, who bought it from Car N Driver magazine as it was their test car for 1986. I took it to a bodyshop and had it fully worked over for any rust and had it repainted the factory red and it was beautiful. I put some nice period correct wheels on it with some low profile tires and I also put a full Sony stereo system with Sony amps and Orion Cobalt subwoofers in it. The A20A isn't a very powerful engine, but I got my old Prelude up to 130 with it with a custom made cold air intake and a 2.5" exhaust that I had made for it with a Magnaflow muffler. It sounded decent, but it was extremely underpowered. I bought a H22A to swap into it, but this was back in 2000, and aftermarket support was nil back then for the 1986 model...

My father bought it new in late 84 when they came out. Only cleanest example I've seen since is at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. Fix this car. It's a very easy to fix car. The miles is nothing. It will last a very, very long time when taken care of properly. Mine has over 400.000 kms when sold it. It's a time machine to me. Lots of memories with that car. Thanks.

*I used to work at a Honda dealer when these were sold brand new and truck loads of them were arriving monthly! They were great cars and most of them sold were manual transmission models and this was in the USA during 1984 and 1985. These were the beginning of the "Golden Years" of Honda automobiles, and indeed they were really that good!* This was an LX most likely and the brown color in that model wasn't that commonly ordered by the dealers back then. Usually White, metallic light blue, and metallic burgundy red were the most popular in the USA.

I currently own a 1997 Civic coupe with a fully built LSVTEC turbo engine that makes 709 wheel horsepower and my daily is a 2004 Acura TL with a six speed manual swap, a full Invidia exhaust with dual mufflers, deleted cats with larger diameter headers, a larger diameter collector pipe, a full Injen cold air intake, a 2007 TL manual ECU, with a Hondata FlashPro custom tune. It currently makes 298 wheel horsepower which is more than enough to make it fun. It even has a Nitrous Express dry NOS kit installed on it, but it needs to be tuned on a dyno with larger injectors before it'll work correctly. The Nitrous tank is even filled.

Nothing boring about old reliable cars that have survived the test of time. Everyone else does muscle cars, boring after a while. To find a gem like this Honda, very interesting.

Randy glad to see you going back in time with these oldies but goodies, I say that ol Honda will take you anywhere give it a chance drive her to the city get new back window then detail the inside pop it up for sale after a long over due service. I bet you can get 1000 to 1500 for that car maybe even 2500 trust me Honda folks will be all over that thing, can't wait to see more.

nice. Brings back memories of my Pop's 1986 Acura Legend. Loved that car. He still misses it.

I love this car, although I really wish it was the 1986 model with the pop-up headlights. I had an 86 Accord for my first car that was that same color with the brown interior. Brings back memories.

New battery, new rear window, clean it up a bit. Maybe a new valve cover gasket. It's going to be a runner. Nice grab Randy!

That car had a recall for rusted out fuel filler neck tubes , the tire puts the rain water and rust into the gas tank which caused tons of dirty , plugged carburetors. The carb has 2 sight glasses on the side , if the level isn't in the center , you have a carb problem

Our family had 4 Honda Accords between 1981 and 1995. I've said it before, but you simply can't kill those Hondas. They'll rust out way before the engine fails.

My first car was a 1983 Accord hatchback. That was a great car. Randy, I don't think you will have any issue driving 1:20 each way in the Accord Sedan. That car is just getting broken in

I had an 84 accord hatch in a similar color and I miss it dearly. It was my daily driver for a while until an uninsured, underaged kid in his dad’s cobalt slammed into me after he failed to yield. Totally destroyed the front end of the old girl who had less than 100k miles on her. When I got out of the hospital and went to the yard where she was parked, she started right on up, but the insurance company refused to repair it due to the age. Hopefully this Honda finds an owner who appreciates it as much as I did mine.

That Honda is seriously Sweet, I have a 2007 Civic with 215,000 miles on it and it still runs and drives like new and it’s amazing on Gas .

You can't go wrong with a Honda. Even with one of 37 years old. I have been enjoying every minute of this video. My oncle had the same car years ago. A 82 Accord which he bought in 1985. The one hé had was produced in Japan. The ones we had in Eurooe all were produced in Japan. This example was produced in the Usa. Just give it new oil, new plugs and some good gas. Maybe a new valve cover gasket and injector cleaner. Love to see more videos on this Accord! 💕

Fix it up and restore it! That's a classic Honda there! Ever find any 1982-1986 older styled Chevy Celebrity cars? If so do a video on one. My Dad had a grey on grey 86 was last year for the older look with the sealed beam headlights had a lot of childhood memories in that car in the early 90s. That's one you don't see much of anymore same with the 85-91 Tauruses and Sable cars too.
