I don't think they would be able to perform. They aren't really domesticated and man's best friend and they're very very skiddish and antisocial. I watched one for a friend and I had to basically be with her for 2 weeks straight and she really didn't like other people let alone people coming up to try to pet her. She was very very protective of me though which was kind of cool though.

@@deekamikaze I understand that taking a wolf to a dog show probably isn't very good for the wolf. For that mater, I object to shows in general. In-breeding to such specific standards is unhealthy for the dogs in general. My original comment was more meant as a variation of "the main trick they know is to not eat the other contestants."

Honestly, yes, Boston Dynamics can do a way better job, but these dogs can also be programmed to do a lot of stuff. I think Zac took the stock version and didn't do any programming on top which means the Robot could actually perform a lot better

It'd be interesting to see, but agility dogs are bonkers. I have no idea how a robot would realistically do the dodging things in anywhere close to the same time as a real dog

I mean, not really. The stuff you see elsewhere are the more sophisticated $20,000+ commercial models, this one's almost a tenth or ninth of that. Plus, the main thing would probably be the software - not like this has got Boston Dynamics-level visual detection, for example. All I'm saying is this probably isn't representative of the 'real' capability of other robot dogs, especially not within other videos who are more than likely using more expensive models, or if not, have people involved that are good at software.
