Made some great points in the video so dropped you a like a sub. Still loves my scuf, and can say without reservation it’s the best controller that I’ve had. Good video and look forward to future content
This video is amazing from the video quality to the audio quality to the stuff you were saying and all that. One thing you should look into is changing that intro to something better especially the music that was playing since the video is so calming and beneficial knowledge wise and the music is just loud lmao. Other than the you’ve earned yourself a subscriber. All love.
Really appreciate the feedback mate! Haha I get you on the intro. I'm a metal head at heart and just trying to cling on to that tiny little piece of that through one bit of my vids, 😂 great to have you here! 🤘
I think you make some very fair points. I built myself a PS4 controller a couple years back(Impact model) when they had a promo to do any build you want for $219. I absolutely love love love it. Had some minor stick drift that was fixed with routine cleaning and up until recently it had gone away entirely. I want to open it up and replace the stick ⚙️ so I can continue to use it without intermittent drift. Maybe I was lucky. All I know is I can’t wait to custom build the new PS5 model when I can. The mouse click bumpers are the shit I love them. The triggers are the most comfortable I’ve used. Also when I first got it the movement of the sticks was faster and smoother than base PS4 controller.
@@Sr2Media yeah it really is. I am curious on how many defective ones go out versus ones that are just fine. Idk if you know this but even Disneyland has a ton of bad reviews. All I can say is I was excited to get the new model after enjoying mine for almost two years
I’ve owned 4, they last about a year with mild usage. Not good customer support and every one of them has broken right outside the warranty, go figure. I do not think they are worth the $, maybe if they were half the price.
I’ve owned 3 one ps4 and 2 xbx controllers and none of them lasted a month the new versions are very comfortable in the hand but durability wise they are bad. If they could fix the drift stick problem and mark the price down they would be dope.
The first thing I’m concerned with on controllers at this price point is stick drift. (PS5.) Do these controllers hold up to the use? I try to careful with controllers but if after a year or so of use will it begin to drift?
I've had my stuff controller for around 6 months now and has minor stick drift And no other issues I'm loving it so far. Definitely will get another one.
I had an Astro controller for the PS4 and loved it, now have a PS5 and there aren’t many options to add the buttons underneath. Shark will mod a standard controller for a little over £100 adding two buttons, there’s a kit you can now buy for about £30 on Amazon to add them yourself or Scuf has just released the new Reflex Pro but it costs an eye watering £219.99+£11.99 shipping. Being an average FPS player at best I need all the help I can get so have plunged for the Scuf, just waiting to receive it to probably realise I’m still sh•t!
I've owned 3 scuf controllers in my lifetime and every one of them has needed to go back for repairs multiple times. They take forever to respond to emails and then when you do send them in they have your controller for at least a month and 9 times out of 10 the problem is either not fixed or it comes back within a month.
I have a prestige scuf, the paddels on the back have got broken maybe 4-5 times and i’ve had to order new ones for like 10$ or somthing like that every time. The start button and one D-pad button are sticky after like 3-4 month of usage. For me who has the budget to only buy one every 2-3 years its heartbreaking to see my only scuf, shipped from US after 1 month of waiting is now broken. I think they milk us so much without delivering the quality.
I agree with this from everything I've read. Don't get me wrong the features are GREAT, and they look awesome, but durability needs to be there when normal folk's are splashing that amount of coin!
Xbox scuf controller are really scary to buy cause the stock Xbox controller always end up having some problems Mine the “A” button always starts double clicking in less then a month
Definitely should be one price and customizable. Sucks they nickel and dime you for looks. I had a bad experience several years ago with the scuf one. Sent it back and forth 10 time literally. Now that they were bought out by consair figured I'd give it one more try. The instinct is definitely nicer than the older scuf I have i am able to use 4 buttons rather than the two before because of the comfort of the placement. Also the mouse click triggers are amazing. Way better than all the Elite controllers that haven't lasted long either. Going on few months with it no issues (knock on wood). The face plates are magnetic too so you can clean the controller or swap them easily.
Update scuf is paying for shipping and repair and my warranty is still good till April 23 that's actually pretty sick. Also they have been very responsive with me over social and email over the weekends I don't think they work but during the week very helpful and responsive. I think they get a bad reputation for before but it's like anything companies change overtime and with some may people in the world these things take time. So basically anyone that wants a scuf and has the money it's worth is and if you are just scraping by there are other options I personally don't know how hex works but they're about the same price with less warranty. Now as for stick drift that's not on scuf its the shitty module itself those they don't make same with the battery the chip is stock I think and then they add to its. There videos of full break downs of the controllers so you know what you're getting. But at the end of the day I find you have to find out for yourself to see what works best for you. You can return open products within 14 days I'm pretty sure so you can try it and see and if it's not what you like I think you can return don't hold me to that all the info is on there website. For Canadian customer the price is USD so remember that too but ya I love and miss my Scuf already lol.
Looking to get a controller with short triggers and back buttons. Days of research and I’m just going to Extremerate and nodding my spare Dualsense. It seems like the only reasonable decision
Dont customize it. Just buy it for the back buttons, its worth it. I have had a ps4 scuf controller for 3 to 4 years, never had a problem with it. I had many hours on it. But especially if you cant get back buttons on the controller any other way but from scuf. Like the ps5 controller, i might get another scuf
Great vid. I have the elite series 2. Seems to have stick drift out of the box. But at least Microsoft is offering 1 year warranty. Albeit the backlash forced them to. But it's a pretty good quality for the 160 I paid.
@AbsoluteSurvivor 50 it's when the movement of the sticks doesn't match the actual movement on screen, dead spots, sticks not popping back exactly to the centre when released, hope that helps 😀.
Just got an elite 2 for 140$ with walmart price match at best buy dont regret it one bitthe only thing scuf has on the elite is the mouse click like triggers.
I have a scuf haven't watched your whole video but it's personal preference I had extra money so I pulled with trigger this controller is beautiful but it's annoying my stick isn't working completely. Scuf does use all custom pieces though which is pretty impressive only a stock battery and module I think could be wrong. This controller is beautiful though but is it worth 500 probably not but idk the grip is amazing how it feels in the hand mixing sticks is easy and convenient. I have the reflex though. Also the hair triggers are awesome
My Scuf Reflex was delivered March 7th. Already having bad drift and jitter issues with the left thumbstick. So sad because the controller is the best feeling controller I've used. I'd gladly pay more if they had improved internal mechanical parts
I have purchased two scufs, one for my daughter and one for myself. I have strong hands, I destroyed paddles over and over. The 3.5mm jack started failing very quickly. My daughter's controller is also broken. I am currently using elite 2 which I like much better. I have ordered a thrustmaster but I am a bit worried about those back buttons.
I hate the fact they force you to buy the expensive versions of their controllers They used to let you just buy a controller with customized sticks and that’s it
I've bought like 5 scufs. They are a great fucking controller when they work. Every scuf I've had ended up getting stick drift after 3 months. The rubber thumb sticks used to wear out so quick but now they seem to be made from new material? I've had one scuf not work properly out of the box(square button wasn't being pressed but in game my gun would reload) I wish playstation would make a pro controller with an Xbox style thumb sticks.
Scuf has such a bad quality too I got one and out of the box it was trash already I called them and they said we cant take it back because it has no warranty after its out of the box like yo wtf
Definitely worth getting a base model instinct pro and save money then buy parts later for looks. Only 20 bucks more than the elite two. They Definitely should be throwing in case though. You get a nice cable and a couple sticks with it though.
I have the instinct pro. Love it. The hair triggers are a true game changer.much quicker dts and on the trigger. This is my 3rd scuf, but the only one I kept. I have owned\own the elite, elite series 2, scuf vantage, vantage 2, astro C40tr, Thrustmaster eswap x, wolverine ultimate, wolverine v2, wolverine v2 chroma, nacon revolution, razer raju, and turtle beach recon. I have a lot of experience with pro controllers and this one seems top quality, especially compared to the older scuf controllers. This one is on par with the thrustmaster eswap and Astro C40 for build quality. I still own both of those and not a single issue with either. I have only had the scuf instinct pro for a little while but so far it is right there with the best of them that I have owned. Back buttons are awesome. Just as good as the Astro and elite controllers. I do like the Eswap buttons too, which are commonly hated on by reviewers, but I do have larger hands and they fit me well. I preferred them over the wolverine rear paddles. But that is personal preference. However on the scuf, I am sure 99% of people will love the rear button placement on the instinct pro and 100% will love the trigger locks and mouse click triggers. Yes $200 is a lot, and all controllers can get stick drift. If your going to miss paying a bill or 2 to buy a $200 controller then PLEASE DONT BUY A $200 CONTOLLER... if you can, it is well worth it! Hope this he!ps anyone on the fence about the scuf.
i just bought a ps5 scuf and it cost about 250 😵💫 it’s my first ever scuf product i hope it’s not as bound as it sounds. I just hope eventually playstation drop another back button but for the ps5 then that would be great but let’s just hope these next gen controllers are it 🙏🏽
I legit don't trust people who shill for SCUF, LOOK at how many damn problems they have from people who have bought them. Not the sponsored reviews btw because that company sponsors MOST reviews on RU-vid. Its gross.
Hi Sr2. Good review highlighting the lack of value for money with these controllers. SCUF's concept is good but after all the customization and cash you are left with a controller which has severe durability issues which makes it worthless. Factoring in reliability as part of a review is important. A premium price should provide a premium product which clearly isn't the case with SCUF just like with the Xbox Elite controllers.(Both the Xbox Elite original and Xbox Elite v2 - the v2 which Microsoft claimed fixed all the reliability issues the original Xbox elite controller had which they have not). In fact Microsoft increased the price of the v2 but they fail faster than the originals...). Just saw another youtubers review on the Xbox elite v2 and he claims "Oh, and a whisper is that Microsoft is listening to feedback with the reliability issues on the v2 and a new revision is coming out to fix the problems with the v2"... yeah right). That reviewer can F@#k off along with Microsoft. They had, what, 7 years to develop a premium, RELIABLE Elite controller after all the issues with the original Elite and failed badly. Makes me think they design them to break intentionally to get repeat sales and rake in the cash. Subscribed earlier to your channel because you seem to review with integrity unlike many reviewers of controllers who are shills. Hope your channel goes from strength to strength and the honest reviews keep coming. y
Haha nice comment. Your right! I hope to never be like any of the shillers. Not in my nature. Maybe why I have way less subs though... Lol who knows. Appreciate the feedback and great to have you here!! 🙏🤘
@@Sr2Media Good for you Sr2! :) I believe you're on the right track. A review site which has integrity is a very strong point of difference from the many who are trying to ride the youtube wagon. As an encouragement I'd like to point out an Aussie pc hardware review site that has gone from humble beginnings to 835k subs so far. Their channel 'Hardware Unboxed' is a go to for me because they refuse to be bought out to post favorable comments for a manufacturer's product. Hence this gives their reviews a lot of credibility which I commend them for. Samsung recently tried to bribe them to read a script essentially for a product they were releasing a few months ago (it was either a TV or monitor) and HU were not having a bar of it. They actually made a video on the debacle calling Samsung out and then destroying the item because it was pants haha. Hardware unboxed though I would consider very fair in their review process - they praise the good and criticize where appropriate too. They have had some major adversity (search the dramas they had with Nvidia and you will see what I mean) but their professionalism in how they handled themselves is very impressive. Cheers for your kind words Sr2!
Most controllers that were out before the PS5 don’t really work on PS5. They are not supported with PS5 games which is dumb. Although the new scuf is supported and tbh that’s the only reason that I’m considering buying it.
Extremerate stuff can make a normal ps5 controller to anything you want, got clicky triggers metal paddles and swapable sticks, and you can have all of them for like 80-100 euro from amazon.
I just came across scuf controllers never saw them before. I was looking to buy the instant pro Xbox series x plus a headset to match but reading the stick drift issues, it scared me away. Lol
Yeah I just got my first one I payed 300 for its to expensive and I feel like if they made it a lil cheaper it would have better reviews and more sells my opinion
Ya I really want one for ps5 but I think they are overpriced a little bit. I'm totally willing to pay that much for a good controller but I think scuf is too high for what you are getting. Like you said that carrying case and extra sticks should be free. I have an elite series 2 for series x and from what I can see looks like a better controller, more customization and you can get one for half the price of a scuf now. 🤷♂️
Aren’t they the only ps5 controller right now that has paddles or am I wrong? I want to know where to spend my money I bought an Xbox one a whole back and it was dissapointing and plastic/too simple. I do feel like they put more effort into the PlayStation ones though
No there are others off the top of my head AIM has a pretty good one pretty much since ps5 dropped, and there is a Japanese company that was doing them and there very similar except you don't have to wait as long to receive like other company's since they are all swamped with orders. Battle beaver has one also and I've always been impressed with there work and customer service.
@@Sr2Media I had scuf for like maybe a year he the one stick was worn down to nothing so hating using it. I’ve had a good run with this razor so far… figures crossed it doesn’t take a shit now 😂
I dont have a scuf, never have, I've designed an instinct and am considering getting it, I've used a striker eliminator pack and a powera controller but wired controllers don't last long for me. I say that but the eliminator pack lasted me almost a year
Xbox Series 2 controller has been my favorite as of late! I hated the scuf instinct pro. Triggers were absolutely terrible and so was the paddle placement
Don't forget the shitty 6 month manufacturer warranty and the fact you can't extend the warranty. I bought a impact when it was first released and started having stick operation issues (not drift) had to pay to ship it back pay to get it fixed just to run into the same problem 3 months later.... they don't care about their customers.
I had a HORRIBLE experience with Scuff, and urge people not to support this disgusting company. The controllers are famous for malfunctioning, and dealing with customer service is a nightmare. DONT DO IT.
I bought a ps5 stealth black controller with parts from hex gaming so programable paddles blacked out buttons and textured back grip for £130 more than happy with it . I’ve seen the scuf reflex going for £450 on eBay 😂😂😂 anyone who pays that licks paste off windows . I’ve had a scuf 4ps in the past and I had to send it back twice to fix the sticks that would just have a mind of there own when playing cod so never again
Does the hex work for ps5 games aswell? I have been looking for a pro controller to use for ps5 games. I recently got a ps5 and want to play the ps5 versions of the game but then i cant use my scuf impact. So im stuck using the ps4 version of the game.
The scuf controller is the worst An expensive mc Donald toy How can you take out the haptic feedback and adaptive trigger and call it a pro controller for more than 100 bucks It's plane nonsense
Scuffs are using the same analog stick that's on the ps5 controller. So expect stick drift anywhere from 3 months to 6 months but with a 300 dollar price tag lol. Scuff using the same analog stick is a joke and yes these are the same analog sticks that Nintendo got sued for!!!!!!!! Do not buy these controllers and if you already did I hope you got a warranty because your gonna be pissed when your 300 dollar controller gets stick drift in the same amount of time the regular ps5 controller has with a 3rd of the price tag and the best part is scuffs warranty is only for 6 months lmao. So if your an average gamer your controller will break right after your warranty runs out lol. What a joke
Dude, really! Just don't do a review period. Lol! Cause the way I look at it you ended up doing a review on the scuf controller after all. Hmmm. "I don't understand it, and it just might be me." Lol!
All i heard was you complaining about the price but im pretty sure u spent a good amount for a mic that all u do is talk into on a youtube channel. This video was pointless
