I Wore 5-Toe High Heels For A Week

i feel like whoever is the creative director at Balenciaga actually hates haute couture and/or rich people and is trolling everyone

Those shoes look like they’re from an animated movie where the animators decided to make the female deer/horse/hoofed animal sexy so we know they’re female

I love how supportive her husband is, like through everything, the emotion is always there.

The problem with these is that the very concept of high heels is opposite to "5 toe" shoes. 5 toe shoes are all about being ergonomic and comfortable and don't care that they look dumb, but the very purpose of high heels is to look good at the cost of being uncomfortable.

Respect to Safiya for developing seven distinct yet almost completely black outfits here. Very consistent.

Honestly, the shoes don't look bad from a distance.. it's when you get up close and see the toes that they become nightmare fuel.

As a wheelchair user you now have gotten the closest it is possible to get to my feelings on uneven surfaces without actually using wheels. Cobble stones are perhaps my greatest nemesis. Gravel is surprisingly fine, especially if I have my “dancing shoes” ie frog legs on.

I know they’ll never see this comment by Saf & Tyler have somehow managed to stay interesting, funny, unproblematic, & genuine through all of their success. It is refreshing to see the way they interact with one another… like you just know that they are genuine and also that they act like this even when the camera is turned off... & I freaking love it 😂❤

Ok I actually unironically loved that day 2 outfit. The asymmetrical blazer is fantastic and the shoes just really set off the “weird” vibes for me. Like the shoes make it feel like you’re really owning the weirdness rather than just choosing a weird statement jacket and everything else is conventional

I feel like Safiya is the only content creator who can make a genuinely entertaining 30 minute video exclusively about a single pair of ugly shoes

I don’t know if anyone will even see this comment but I very much appreciate safiya enunciating her words one by one. it’s so clear! it makes non-native english speakers like me truly understand her words. I hope she does not feel insecure or whatnot because the way she pronounces something can really help someone in learning english.

I've used my old regular Vibrams for walking up the creek and you're right about the parts where the water leaks and it doesn't dry quickly either, neither the shoe nor your sock, even if you only wear them for the water part of your journey and put on regular hiking boots for the part that's on land and even if you bring a towel and dry your feet off thoroughly before putting dry socks and boots on. I got HUGE blister by walking two miles to the creek in my Keen hiking boots (highly recommend!), a mile both ways up and back down the creek in my old Vibrams, and then drying my feet off and putting on dry socks with my boots again and walking the 2 miles back home. The blisters got bad within a mile or less on my way home after hiking in the water, even though I dried my feet off with a microfiber towel and everything, so I was literally limping the last mile back. Still, walking in the creek with the Vibrams on was still much better than walking barefoot because the thin sole was still enough to keep me from really feel the pain whenever I happened to step on a little rock in the creek. I air-dried my feet for a while after that and I got new insoles for my hiking boots so that I usually don't get blisters when I go on that same hike. Oh and I should also mention that I hike with like an 80 lb backpack full of stuff because I want to go backpacking so I'm trying to condition for it. That would put the weight on my feet much closer to 300 lbs than it is to 200 lbs too, which puts more stress on my feet and my shoes than I would put on them just walking normally, although I'd still probably carry at least 10 lbs of water on that hike no matter what.

All I can think of is how different it must be to walk down the streets of Raleigh/Durham dressed like this than it was in LA 😂.

The toes are just... They're like lion paws crossed with goat hooves and a vibe that screams "uncomfortably intelligent-but-not-sapient creature that you'd get in a fantasy-themed horror movie"

what I hate most about these shoes is how far back the heel is set!!! it's exactly where you *dont* want to rest your weight!!!

I own a pair of vibram shoes, got them while working at a summer camp for kids with disabilities. They were super useful for bathing the campers since we had to basically be dressed for swimming as we were in the showers too. They were also super helpful for doing activities on the lake (swimming, kayaking, sailing, etc). In certain settings they are a fantastic shoe but i don't found walking on rough terain to be the hardest aspect of them. If I i knew I I didnt need to go in the water I would just wear sandles because of how uncomfortable they are during prolonged use, could not begin to fathom how uncomfortable adding a 3" heel would make them. Some people love how they look, and i got the prettiest pair I could but they were still hideous, there's not getting away from that

As a former running shoe salesperson: shoes like these (ones with very little to no cushion) need an adjustment period. They usually recommend not wearing them all the time right away cause our feet aren’t used to them. Add that to the fact that high heels are already terrible for you and it’s no wonder your feet were so sore!

This makes me so upset because it reminds me of the time my grandma got me toe socks for Christmas but forgot I have six toes.

I went through phases in this video, at first laughing, then accepting, then weirded and finally absolutely having an ick and not even looking at them, whyyy are they so cursed too i mean come on

I have a few pairs of toes socks (as in, winter sleep/slipper socks) but I've never dared try one of these shoes. The 'grippy' bit you'd think would make sense, but I can't get over how stiff they seem. The socks work just fine.
