I asked my cousin, who's a park ranger, to listen. He laughed and said this guy was a terrible ranger lol! Starting with submerging himself in water regardless of how warm it was. You gotta come out and it's gonna be worse when you're wet!

He is just a ranger who goes all over the country to volunteer whenever he has vacation time to help rescue wild animals during horrific forest fires. He even spent time in Australia helping when the fires were killing hundreds of thousands of animals. Yeah...he sucks. Worst ranger ever.

Okay, am I the only one completely flabbergasted by the ending? If the locals knew about strange phenomena associated with a local witch legend, one they gave enough credence to that _the local judge gave this poor guy a lighter sentence because he had some idea of what happened,_ why did everyone insist on railroading him like that?

My biggest issue with this story. Is the hot springs. 🙄 Get into water? Get soaking wet and then walk around in winter? They'd be dead in 20minutes.🤦🏻‍♀️

Okay a couple notes. Number one there was mention of no fresh water when it was snowing. Why not scoop up some of the fresh snow melted. Then they would have fresh drinking water. I'm sure they're still hot spots in the cabin that would allow this to happen. The second thing that caught my attention is their frolicking in a hot spring during a snowstorm. Then there's mention of them walking to the next cabin. Common Sense should tell anyone they would freeze to death now that they are soaking wet. They would obviously freeze faster than if they had not gotten into the spring at all.

I can’t believe how many times over these people would have frozen to death, lol. I don’t think the author lives where it snows much. In 3 feet of snow, you’re not going anywhere quickly. You’d exhaust yourself very rapidly. And that’s all while getting wetter and colder. If by some miracle they didn’t die the first couple hours, they DEFINITELY would have died after the hot spring. Getting soaked in the cold is a death sentence. That lovely warm would have disappeared fast and killed them FASTER. There’s also no way a trained ranger would have left a rescue point to head out into a blizzard. Not even for a murderer. The blizzard is certain death. The murderer is a chance.

I loved this, but I gotta say that ending threw me, like, what evidence did they have to pin the fire on mc, and why did they think they lied about there at least being a killer or somebody in the woods and dead people in the water? Especially after the description of the face, voice, and accent of the guy they described was spot on to someone they actually had record of working there a long time ago, someone they wouldn't have known about before that day. Clearly they weren't at the cabin when the ambulance got there, and was all bloody and beaten up when they ran back. I'm assuming they couldn't get prints from the canister used to start the fire because of the snow, but that would also mean that, again, they didn't have evidence for mc doing it *or* Zack doing it. I just don't understand how they got in so much trouble over so little evidence, and how no one looked into this mysterious non-coworker they mentioned, or the bodies that they have a specific location of. Despite that and my (probably too many) questions, it was fun to listen to and I could suspended my disbelief for the most part lol

They probably know, judging what the one guy said at the end. Probably just covering it up.. Government does that when they don't hsve solutions something or don't care enough to deal with it. What they don't know, won't hurt them, as the saying goes. Or they use the paranormal to theur advantage. Like feeding it the elderly "in the way" members of society. Just like that retirement home creature in and older LH creepypasta narration

In reality, if something this strange really happened, and only 1 person was around... guess who's taking the fall? It's called being a "Scapegoat". Doesn't matter if the person did it or not, SOMEONE has to take the blame so the courts and everyone involved earn their paycheck and the case can be closed. While the supernatural isn't real, the fact that courts have used people as scapegoats has actually happened is real and happens far more than it should, particularly in the past.

reminds me, in the country where i live like 8 villages "die" a year (get recaptured by the woods due to abbandoment) and its so creepy going to one of these villages, seeing vaguely human like patterns and entering a cemetery, its so weird, in the middle of the temperate pine forests and thick overgrowth and just seeing graves, its just so uneasy

Look, man... if someone hunting you, you’ve got a few limited options. 1: be some prey, get hunted. 2: resign to death but don’t give them the satisfaction and sit and wait, don’t let them have their hunt. Or 3: hunt them back. They obviously have means of survival, take it from them. Lure them to your weakened self, fake it as best you can, and try to over take them. But never run. Don’t die cold AND tired.

I just went overnight camping yesterday and all I could see are suspicious shadows because I've been listening to you non-stop. It was a private campsite and there were care takers but other than that, it's empty besides me and my partner. There's another part to this story after this I believe . U saw it on natures temper channel . The witch sent mail to the protagonist and freaked him out in the end. I am Not sure if more came out after that by the author tho

@HARP SEAL yeah I heat it first on Skottie's channel also although both were very different from each other just by the way there narration was so different but yes I remember the ex Ranger getting the poem in prison can't remember it exactly or even know if nature's temper added it himself but it went something like : 3 dead wolves layed in a row , 3 witchy women dancing in the snow , 1 bad man lies dead in the snow , 1 sad man sits in a row ... Something like that anyway and I couldn't be bothered to look for it on the channel ! But at least the narrators didn't copy each other exactly Stephen called her sue not Susan and one referee to her as his girlfriend not colleague and a few other different things so you could listen to both without thinking ah! I've just listened to this one ! Anyway peace out and I'm glad you said about the poem as I wanted to put that as I think we're the only 2 to have noticed 😅😅💜

Ok usually I can tell what the outcome will be halfway through the story , but this one not even close this was such a great unexpected turn of events story that I soooo wish there will PLEASE be a part 2 of. I loved this one , even if it's a short update , anything would be great

Very end: 'a detective visited.. case was over, the state won..' end of the visit: 'detective said he'd tell the judge to go easy on me'. Huh? The state already won so how could he tell the judge to go easy? That part confused me but great story!

This one was an odd story, but as soon as he described Susan's eyes, I thought something seemed off. Then when she mentioned only two witches, I had a pretty good idea what was coming...
