Respectfully, trust should include a lot more than whether or not someone tells you they're nice or actually are nice. You need only consider that most people who betray you will sincerely believe they're in the right because of some sincere mental distortion. I'm sure plenty of people have been able to take advantage of his systems, but so many of peoples encounters with him have proven its a pure content farm and not at all done with respect and genuine good will.

A lot of his videos have been like, “Look at the good things I did for these ppl! Hey I built homes for the poor, now make me your liege lord bc I’m a good person.” I mean.. that’s the vibe it’s always given me. I vividly remember the first time I ever saw a MrBeast video because a friend showed it to me, and my immedate thought as someone who has a Bachelor's in a field belonging to social studies was: this is giving Squid Games. We were watching some (replacable) video of some apparently "random" guy having to do challenges in order to get a huge amount of money and I had a _bad_ gut feeling and immediately felt uneasy. My friend has known me for quite some time now and noticed I wasn't really enjoying the video and asked me why and it turned into a _long_ discussion (yes I am fun at parties). I remember my reasoning being along the lines of: while I see he's done some good stuff that can be called "philanthropist", he did not seem like one to me. Someone who's really a philanthropist would _never_ exploit someone they claimed to be a stranger for RU-vid content, instead, they'd give them the money no strings attached. And yes, of course MrBeast had to first obtain that money in order to give it away via content (in this case) but that could've been dealt with differently. It always seemed strange to me that MrBeast picked "random people" who were apparently poor, working poor, lower middle class etc. and then made them do challenges?? Like no actual person wanting to change the world for good from an honest place would do that? Because that would go against their core beliefs of equality and so on? Anyway, long story short, it's actually nice to see my thought process and judgement of character wasn't terribly off. Seems I actually really learned something while obtaining my degree lmao

As someone living in the place he proclaimed is an abandoned city (while sleeping in 5 star hotel next door while pretending he is middle of nowhere) when I tried to comment on his videos I found out by myself you can’t even comment anything that say he lies, scams or even over exaggerates, my comments get removed INSTANTLY. I couldn’t write a single comment. So yeah, he was always a fraud it seems. What’s funny before that video I truly thought he was legit. Oh and the abandoned city in the middle of nowhere with no civilisation for hundreds of miles is just 10-15m car ride from an international airport and city of Dubrovnik with over 5 million tourists every year, where game of thrones was filmed, Star Wars, Vikings and Robin Hood among others.
